Just finished cooking this dish. This is the third recipe of yours Gina that i've tried. I promise i'm gonna stick with you so i can continue to elevate my cooking game! Your channel has reignited my desire to cook for my family. As a 47y.o working wife/mother, i was burned out on cooking and especially cooking the same meals over and over and over again. Thxs Gina Beena ;)))

Gina, I am a retired cabinetmaker and I can't believe you are using your countertop for a cutting board! You left some hefty scratches in the top when you cut up that sausage, please ladies, use a cutting board when cutting on your counters, the laminated plastic won't stand the sharp edges. and points of knives! The cost of replacing countertops today is very high, and these will last a long time if you DON'T use them for a cutting board! Love your recipes, and I am going to make this for supper too!!!!

Did you know that the green bell pepper is just an unripe red bell pepper!! If you leave green peppers on the vine long enough, they will turn red!! So you can actually get 2 colors of peppers from the same plant!! Just leave the green ones on the vine to get red or pick when they are still green for the green ones! Who knew!?!? God Bless! ( love fried cabbage mixed with anything plus onions!!)

I was taught to put the onion in first because the garlic is more delicate than the onions and can't be cooked as long. The onions can cook several minutes before adding the garlic.
If you don't want a lot of juice in your cabbage just cook it without the lid for a least half of the time. It will evaporate and you won't lose all that delicious flavor.
    This looks absolutely delicious!

This is why so many Professional French Chefs will say their food heroes growing up were people cooking in their family, usually their mothers or grandmothers. This food could be served in any home anywhere in France. Great detail.

The ABCs of Salvation, or how to be right with God, and know you're going to Heaven:
    A-dmit that you're a sinner, and need a Savior.
As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
B-elieve that Jesus Christ died paying the penalty for your sins, and rose from the grave.
He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross. 1 Peter 2:24
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
C-all on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you, and trust only in Him for your salvation.
If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
The moment you "believe," or, put your trust in what Jesus has done for you, God saves you and your eternal destiny in Heaven is assured. You go from spiritual death to eternal life the moment you believe.
Jesus said it this way: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 5:24😀

Lots of people are saying add potatoes so it will soak up the juices, but if you're serving it over rice you want the liquid. You don't want dried cabbage over rice. It's amazing how some people think they can cook and some people know how to cook. Loved this video by the way! Some people add chicken broth or liquid at the end but you drew liquid from the original ingredients which will lend much more flavor. Sit down, be quite and pay attention boys and girls cause you just might learn something.

If you will do the following, just before adding the butter you strain out the pot likker (juices),place the cabbage mixture back into the pan after the butter has coated the pan and stir by using a spatula sliding it under and then turning it continuously until it has a light brown color Then you have fried cabbage. Love your channel but I have to share 50 years experience with southern cooking. Presentation hint: break the habit of ending statements with "okay?". I had a 'you know?' habit that my uncle made me aware of and helped me break. Shared in love. You are wonderful!

Excellent meal, I also added some pork ribs and a good crusty bread or rye bread on the side is great. You might try, frying bacon until slightly crisp, remove and add some shallots until browned, add sauerkraut drained well, black pepper, some caraway seed, put the bacon back in, keep simmering and stir , the kraut should get a nice shine to it, if it starts to get dry ,add some water and cook on low until it's all real shiny and tasty, season to your taste as you want, this is the best on hot dogs on a good bread or any hot dog roll you like, I like a hot dog or a kielbasa on rye with seeds. and a cold glass of milk. or also make a few dogs or a kielbasa, with baked beans on the side , DO YOU HEAR ME, Gina UM UM UM .

My family has made something like this as long as I can remember but we always add parboiled cubed potatoes to the cabbage in the last 15 to 20 mins of cooking. We also add caraway seed or fennel seed to the recipe at the beginning. I like adding hot pepper sauce to the top of my bowl right before I eat it! Thanks for sharing good family style real food, not all this vegan, no gluten, no meat, etc fads going around. I believe all foods are fine to eat within reason, where I draw the line is using processed/boxed foods, it is not the food that is bad but the chemicals and other additives the companies put in it. Have a blessed day Gina!

There was a store called “Kitchen Stuff “ ( I think that was the name )
At an outlet mall near my location.
They had all these neat pots and pans like that.
Sadly they closed it but not before I bought some really cook cook wear. I did buy a nice stew/ soup pot similar to that one she used and a good stainless teakettle I use regularly.
Personally I only use stainless, cast iron, or glass to cook in
      Never aluminum or Teflon coated

I loved your recipe and am checking out your site since you get such great reviews, but I have to make one comment. Why would you cut things right on the counter top???? You don't use anything to protect it. I would be worried about damaging it. Makes it hard for me to watch. Just saying.
