Yikes!! And Hillary got perturbed about Monica or was that for show?? 🤥

NB: The Theodore Roosevelt buried temporarily in Normandy was not the president, but his son Theodore Roosevelt Jr.
I was thinking, wait, TR was long dead in 1944 haha
How did he die?
@@I_Have_The_Most_Japanese_Music heart atack
From: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Roosevelt_Jr.
"Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt III[1] (September 13, 1887 - July 12, 1944), known as Theodore Roosevelt Jr.,[Note 1] was an American government, business, and military leader. He was the eldest son of President Theodore Roosevelt and First Lady Edith Roosevelt. Roosevelt is known for his World War II service, including the directing of troops at Utah Beach during the Normandy landings, for which he received the Medal of Honor."
FDR was not Theodore Roosevelt's son. They were cousins.
It should be noted that the picture of the grave in Normandy in July 1944 is that of Theodore Roosevelt Jr. It just says Theodore Roosevelt.
I was a little bit confused myself as I saw this pic.
He was a Jr., but his dad was a junior too, so actually or technically it was Theodore Roosevelt III.
Agree.....very confusing. Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States, died on January 6, 1919. He passed away at his home, Sagamore Hill, in Oyster Bay, New York
Yes very much so that He Died of a heart attack a month later, before he could receive the already approved award for heroism
Count Eric Bonde was a Swedish cavalry officer who left active service when he was still young. Eric Bonde was chosen to join the Swedish UN Battalion in Katanga. During a train transport, Swedish troops, Major Bonde included, were attacked by rebels. The Swedish unit won the consequent battle, but not without losses. He was probably shot by Baluba warriors that time used a lot of old muzzle loaded rifles/muskets (not as powerful as more modern rifles). After given first aid he returned to the fight against the invisible enemy in the jungle bush.
I still think he's a badass!
Apparently he lived in Nairobi at the time. Maybe he was asked to rejoin the Swedish army because of his knowledge of Africa?
Yup fantastisk man

Beautiful and grand photos. The war photos always get me. Anyone who wishes for war has simply never been in one. Please wish for something else.
Marilyn Monroe in Korea in front of all those soldiers, Metallica in Russia... So exciting!
Thank you
1:49 my grandfather was a Korean veteran, he was not a Turk, he was of Kurdish descent (like me) and this is what he said; it was the Marilyn Monroe concert that made me forget the hellish siege of kunuri. My grandfather always kept repeating words that Marilyn Monroe's hair was like a mirror and that I had never seen such a beautiful woman in my life. You know, they call him an old senne after all, but I always listened to him with great admiration, and I didn't want to be in his place.
Thumbnail alone was amazing. Thanks.
Yeah, that one really did it for me
I think she passed inspection
Of course you do.
What about small boobs? Jeez...give them some attention for once. They are JUST as sexy. Big boobs are way overrated!
It's like the 007 villain fraulein Rosa Klebb checking out the to-be Bond girl of the movie.

That photo: "Children, the Gorbals, Glasgow" is amazing!! Mr and Mrs Gorbals had a BIG family, even by the standards of those days!!
You are mistaken on the "V" for victory... His hand was reversed and in England that is the same as the middle finger in the States... "V" for victory is like the Peace Sign...
I was thinking the same thing…and I’m in 🇺🇸
Yep. He’s “giving the bird” English style! Do your research!!!
@@rossprohaska6263
No shit, Sherlock!!
hard to know if this is entirely true but apparently this originated from the battle of Agincourt where the French would cut off the index and middle fingers of the English soldiers due to their archery prowess, as a response the English soldiers would hold up their 2 fingers to taunt them!
Small mistakes do not matter.
I have never seen or heard of another person named ‘Adalbert’ in my nearly 69 years. My dad was named Adalbert Benedict Olack. His dad, Emerich, came to the USA c. 1910 from Czechoslovakia. It was weird seeing my dad’s name on the screen.
Now, I’m truly curious if my grandparents named my dad after the prince of Prussia.
Adalbert is an "international" name for a Czech saint Vojtěch. That may be a reason.
@@carnifaxx
I’ve been looking into this for a few hours today. Have never heard any of this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. ✌️👍
My grandfather. from Lipov Czechoslovakia was named vendell , I’ve never seen that name attributed to any other human than him. I’d be blown away if I had seen the name in a video.
I have known several people with the equivalent name in spanish, I even have a relative called Adalberto. Adalbert=Adalberto

The first photo of the League of German girls is actually from a post war comedy film, ‘Blitzmädels an die Front’, made in 1958.
I need to watch this film for……..research
My favorite photos were the ones of the lady’s , I just like like to admire the beauty they all had in each different era that passed .
When Germans were still Germans and the big genocide on them hadn`t started yet.
I’d give the Leauge of German girls each a squeeze ngl.
How could you not?
A moving and brilliant pictorial. Thank you
Love the pictures! Keep up the good work!
Whoever is posting these photos, thank you!
The music matches perfectly.
I honestly feel bad for the German soldiers. Majority of them were probably lied to about what they were fighting for
They were all dosing Meth as well or Previtm as it was called back then. So they were probably blocking a lot of shit out.
Yeah both the innocent civilians and the soldiers.

Fantastic compilation and very nice music.
Love how the music isn’t completely sad or happy
The 1st image is from a 1950's West-German movie, not from an actual WWII event..
What movie?
@@eq1373 Blitzmädel An Die Front (1958)
@@marcvangelder4610 thanks
Thank you, Marc. I was going to say the same thing. The girl on the left of the main three clearly has a later hairstyle and the evident "boob inspection" style shot marks it out as not of the era, even if one were unaware of its origin. I can't believe that this is still being paraded around on the internet as genuine - excuse the pun. A channel which has the temerity to call itself "Rare History" should know better.
It looked like a sketch from a Carry On movie haha
3:42 Wow 100 years later and nothings changed
Well ever since the industrial revolution began.
They went straight to the thumbnail, amazing!
The british Indian soldier is NOT flashing the victory sign. He's "flipping the bird"
Glanza guy, you are wrong ‘the bird’ only uses one finger.
The victory sign is with the palm away from you. Palm towards you references a gesture the english archers used towards the French who would lop off the fingers of the archers when they were captured. It seemed like a polite turn of phrase to use, I'm very aware that flipping the bird is for just the middle finger. The 2 fingers means the same thing.
Swear gestures
Nothing to do with archers. It’s sexual insult.
I never knew that anyone got hit by a meteorite . The photo of that lady was stunning!
Caroline Munro...Just wondering what historical significance that picture has besides her being beautiful..
She was an actress and she is still alive today, born in England...And yes,she was so beautiful
5:43 now that"s amazing..

Every day Bill wishes that photo had never been taken 🙂
You’re right. 100 years later nothing has changed.
It never will.
Just a suggestion I love history but I find by the time I'm done reading what the picture is about it doesn't give me much time to really focus on what's happening in the picture so maybe if you could wait a few more seconds.
this amazing pictures that show that the world as always been under supression . human being supressing others human for no reason .beautifull messages through this pictures
Incredible pictures
The guy who took Sinatra's photo, you mean Yul Brenner, the Great Actor?
Thanks for video! Please be aware, that bombing of Helsinki was during the first days of invasion, which just started on the November 30, 1939.

Sorry but @ 3:12 the Indian guy is NOT doing the victory sign but the F-U sign, the two fingers should be facing the other way, just saying OK
How do you know?

The photograph of kids on the streets of Glasgow, Scotland in the 1950s looks like something out of the Victorian age not the 20th century, such was the poverty. Even now some areas of Glasgow you would be doing well to live in to your mid 60s. Even worse back then.
It’s still like that. The only difference is that all those 1950s kids would’ve known their fathers and they wouldn’t be taking drugs.
please try to give the caption at the top. It will be easy to read
Caroline Munro 😍 ! 100% All Natural Beauty !
Yeah, baby! I had a poster of her on my wall when I was in my teens. Wearing some 'primitive' garb. Soooo many fevered adolescent dreams.....
Crazy that this seems to be the only comment about her. She was an absolute beauty then. I first became aware of her when I saw her in a Sinbad film when I was 12 or 13. It was possibly my first woody.
:02, that girl is absolutely not digging this. She knows what that old bat has on her mind. That girl on her left appears to be watching for her reactions. Maybe to report them? Sad way to live for sure.
It’s a still from a motion picture. They were actors , they were reasonable well paid..
Are you a thick feminist or a creepy male feminist ?
just feel really sad for the last one😢
incredible images
I'd love a job as Inspector at the League of German girls 😁
THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO SIR , Abdul Rashid WAZIRABAD PAKISTAN💖
In the 1990s I was BBS friends with a Graphics Designer from Leningrad we chatted for hours for months. She said she too was paid in part with Vodka.
Thanks so much for sharing these pictures (and all the others).
Always great music.
Simply, thank you....
That V for victory image is the wrong way round. The Brits used the 2 fingers in a similar way as the middle finger is used now.
That was a long time ago now, before it changed the meaning of it.
@@henrymugello3387 What? 2 fingers facing forwards has always meant peace (at least in my lifetime). 2 facing the other way has always meant 'fuck you' or similar.

Theodore Roosevelt Jr. is whom was being referenced. He forgot to add in the "Jr."
Hey wait a sec, that's not the victory sign.
*Cool* video!
Caroline Munro was always absolutely stunning.
"Woah bro, those pictures in the thumbnail totally amazed me 💀💀💀💀"

The British Indian soldier was not giving the V for victory sign. If you know, you know.
It can be said that all these photos in the video wrote history!
Photographs aren’t dexterous enough to hold a pencil never mind write anything legible.
I cringe thinking about what future generations see in our historical photos. People crying over product mascots, social media filters, internet challenges, Tik Tok...yeah, kinda makes you wanna burn it all and start over...
Caroline Munroe's still alive, and 73. Gravity and time ages young vixens ruthlessly, as karma demands.
I just realized my grandmother is born a few years after the world war ii......... it is scary.
LEST WE NEVER FORGET !!!!!
Good heavens. The first picture is from a 1958 movie entitled "Blitzmädels an die Front" -- it's not a League of German Girls Inspection. I think I'll pass on these videos...

1:12 bet he's a bit anxious now.
Love the 3rd pic, with no captions whatsoever, unlike the others, just "Caroline Munro".
7:20 Swedish Major Eric Bonde is a total badass! Clearly has 2 bullet holes in him and is smoking a cigarette, with a look like yeah I know this doesn't end well. They don't grow them like that anymore.

It's very nice every picture tell the story
Amazing
Very nice background music
The first one is from a post-war movie.
Which movie? EDIT: Found an answer... According to Snopes, “The image is actually a still from the 1958 movie Blitzmädels an die Front (Women Soldiers to the Front).”
If the picture from Helsinki is taken on november 30 1939 it's not from the middle of soviet-finnish war but from the first day of winter war.
The first photo is not originally from WW2 - it is from a movie made in the 1950's in Germany- Blitzmadels an der front.
2:52 Bottles of vodka would have been more useful. Great collection!

The Indian soldier is showing the F..you sign . The V for victory is palm outwards . It is said the F you sign originates from the English introduction and successful use of the long bow against the French . Also possibly true that these two fingers were amputated by the French on any English POW they caught to avoid their enemy being able to pursue an archers career in the future …
That story is complete bosh. The finger gesture has a sexual connotation.
Love the first pic..🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
