I love the touch of humor in your videos! For me the things I wish I bought earlier are good shoes and boots. Working in a casual environment it has always been just sneakers, but in the past year I started getting nice footwear and it has been a lot of fun. It has even inspired me to “dress up” the rest of my wardrobe.
I’ve been wanting attires that are tough enough for construction work but look as decent as at least business casual ever since I was in middle school 😂
Lighting: wish I had discovered sooner 40 Watt bulbs for table lamps instead of 100 Watt. Lower intensity lights create pools of light around table lamps rather than illuminating the entire room. Much cosier/intimate looking in the evening.
Sad thing about where I live. We have many spare the air days so we cannot do any wood burning. California doesn’t allow any “normal” things unfortunately
I grew up in a house with a real fireplace. I miss it! So cozy in winter, and so much fun burning all of my school work page by page at the end of each school year, haha.
Watching this video is half learning about all these cool things I would like to invest in when the time (and money) comes, and half constantly hearing John Mulaney say "THIS IS THE HEIGHT OF LUXURY" on repeat in my head. 🤣💖
I have a friend who also has a love of clothing and a massive wardrobe but limited space so he bought one of those automated dry-cleaning conveyor deals to hang all of his clothes on since he had limited closet space but a very large laundry room / basement.
Everyone who can pick up a tool and use it needs a belt or something similar. I personally utilize bib overalls and a toolbelt as needed. The bib overalls are extremely comfortable and when made from good denim or duck cotton, are the right tool for manual jobs.
The one thing i really wish I had bought sooner? Offset nuts and camelots. I'm glad you made a list of what YOU really do wish you had bought sooner and didn't seem to interject audience appeal too much into the list. Much more informative on far more levels this way. Thank you!
I too use Bourgeat pans, excellent quality. A tip - Bourgeat make excellent non-stick pans which are useful for some things. And once the non-stick coating wears off they become effectively cast iron pans that will last another two decades.
Carbon steel has a few major advantages: It's lighter, comes to temperature faster, and isn't as brittle as cast iron, so if the pan warps, it's more likely to be fixable. And unlike most modern cast iron, carbon steel pans usually come with a smooth surface.
The bespoke shoes are a game-changer. I love mine. But, I've found that the more shoes you have made, the better it gets. As the shoemaker learns more about your feet - my fourth pair is so much better than the first pair!
An open fire is great until you need to clean it out the next morning and set it for the following night :-) Point 23. Hire someone to clean out the fireplace ashes every day.

Peloton bikes are great for cardio but it's only a small part of keeping fit. For instance if one doesn't incorporate weight lifting/training you'll always be trying to lose weight or stay trim with the same size fuel burning "motor". Gaining muscle is a crucial part in overall physical fitness. If you have bigger muscles you will burn more calories not only at the gym but even when your simply moving throughout your day. Look up the fitness/weight loss pyramid , cardio is the least most important ingredient.

Your house looks sick!!! Proper cool👍👍👍 I thought the picture of the closet was yours, till you explained, if you end up with a closet like that, I'll be so jealous 😄😄😄😄
You're right about good microphones - because I struggled with some of your earlier videos (I am old and a bit deaf: or deaf and a bit old); but - do stop that music, snare drum or whatever, in the background of your films, because it's a real nuisance if you have hearing issues; now and then, I hear the beat, see your lips move, but have to rely on lip reading to make any sense of what you're saying: and as you have an accent, this can be a bit of a fight. Incidentally, I'd love a closet for my clothes: I have a very old mahogany wardrobe, a fine piece of furniture, but it's full to capacity: and that's without a dinner suit, which I don't have any more because - no dinners! Or I'm not invited to them if they're taking place. Takes you right back to peer groups: I should join one - then: I can buy a new dinner suit!
I mountain bike steep chunky single track with punishing uphills 2x a week, season pass snow skier, surf, etc. All of these require great cardio. I own a peloton. Peloton is awesome, would still buy it if it were 2x price. If you just buy it and think it will make you fit, nope. If you actually use it as a training tool you will find it allows extra workouts between sports and it has made all of them better, feel much stronger.

Yes, there is a reason restaurants use carbon steel pans, not cast iron.
