"We're repossessing your car?" "What, why?" "You missed your last 8 car payments." "You don't understand I really needed this single pair of bespoke shoes." At least I'm comfy walking now.
Probably my favorite crazy priced objects are my chef knives. I've had my knives for nearly 15 years now, and they might have cost as much as a used car, but my grand kids will be able to enjoy them when I'm gone, and they're a grounding staple in my life. My tastes change, I move, people come and they go, but those knives are basically a rock solid constant I can depend on.
As my mother and i were watching this video. She began scolding my father for wearing pants too long that go under his boots 😂You showed how long should the pants be.
Honestly, I almost always buy the smaller carpano antica for home use. In the fridge and at that size, you really never have to worry about it going off. It's like buying a 12 pack of seltzer water instead of one 2L bottle
Sounds like a lot of waste. A sensible person might consider a high quality water filtration system. At the end of the day you’re only rehydrating the body.
As a woodworker I can say that good quality hardwood plywood can be used to make great frames. The way plywood is constructed helps to stabilize the wood, and the frame will be hidden beneath the upholstery so the layers won't be visible. As long as it's good quality, plywood made from hardwood is a terrific frame material.
Anything made by skilled craftsmen with the finest materials is worth spending more on. Furniture, clothes, jewellery, luggage, machines, even housewares. A whole host of categories.
Love your coverage on bespoke shoes. As someone who has struggled with an ultra wide foot with high instep and narrow heels, bespoke and modified lasts have been a wonderful relatively recent discovery. I hope you do an in-depth episode on the process and the artisans around the wonderful craft. Also +1 on chairs, knives and scarves For those that appreciate it, definitely a nice timepiece can be definitely worth it.
Dear Gentlemen Gazette Could you please do a video about Pocket Watches? I personally don’t know much about them. Wristwatches are much more mainstream than pocket watches. Yet pocket watches have that vintage and sophisticated feeling. It would be very helpful if you guys did a video about it...the different types and brand of pocket watches for example.
4 more items worth every penny: 1. Custom insoles for sneakers 2. High quality nail cutters (you’ll only ever need a set) 3. Flonase sensimist (talk to your doctor, not medical advice) 4. Anti-fog Glass lenses (sprays are inconvenient, masks are a nightmare)
Have the team considered creating a proper storage and maintenance for men's clothes?(Coat hangers, tie storage, belts, shoes.) Long term/seasonal storage too and that sort of thing? Love the content.
Very happy that you mentioned a Hancock & Moore, I have such a hard time finding high quality furniture. Their are so many dishonest companies out there acting like their products are high quality.
Hi-Steam professional iron defiantly worth it because I’m a house manager for a large estate home and I can watch these videos while doing my ironing therapy :)
The interesting thing about this list is that it is a reasonable place to go for an idea of quality. Most people won’t buy these. Even people who can afford these items might not buy them. The cool thing is that getting familiar with this type of thing is informative. It gives people a high point to work back from. When I’m familiar with the best valued items, I can find more affordable items with many of the same characteristics.
Sadly the British mass production knife making industry isn't what it once was. There are still some small scale craftsmen making quality products though.
Well, just bought two Chesterfield couches because of this. RIP my bank account. Though did not go with this level of quality because that's out of my reach, but the ones I ordered have hardwood frames, top grain semi-ailine leather, and very good reviews. Thank you very much for bringing this style of couch to my attention! It's so elegant and classy looking. I can't wait to have them in my home!
If you want a good, clean, relatively inexpensive watch I really enjoy Tayroc. I’ve had some for well over 2 years that I’ve really enjoyed and have about 7 in total. Normal price is usually between like $80 and $200 but you can usually get a sale price between $50-$120.
I bought a set of Shuns a couple years ago. It makes prepping food so much better and even more fun. The Vitamix we bought is awesome. It's fun to even make soups.Bow ties are great and I am gathering a collection.
Talking about vermouth, Puglia is not a region in Sicily. The state of Puglia, or Apulia is on the main peninsula of Italy, located on the heel of the boot.
Nisolo's Huaraches and Swims braided loafer (for swimming) are on my list. Please review them 🙇 it is around the time for summer (already here in Texas lol) they changed my opinion on sandals but of course flip flops or open toed are a no-go 👎
Great video. Creed is worth it as well as the knives, scarves, wines, and many other items referenced. Nice to have a few nice things around one in life to enjoy. Keep up the great work!
I use a wingback chair in my office because I spend a lot of time in front of the computer. You can get some great wing-backed chairs used that are hardly used at all for under $50 and the springs in the chair seat make it last much longer than an office chair and it is a lot more comfortable. The only negative as that they don't have wheels but that really is a minor inconvenience. As watches go I prefer a Breitling.
Taylor of Old Bond Street do some very good reasonably priced grooming products and scents. Their sandalwood cologne is brilliant. Real badger hair shaving brushes as well. I just got rid of one that had lasted 17 years. £30 well spent in 2004.
We live by the saying. Quality remains long after the price is Forgotten. This is so true, particularly today. Be it clothing or cars. Once you’ve invested in high quality. You’ll never return to lower priced goods. They just don’t deliver
Do you still have that Gruen pocket watch? And if yes do you still wear it? Love the direction of the channel, I’m here since 2016 and the quality of the video keeps increasing!
Great video... I quite love these topics. Yep, a good scarf lasts for so long. I have a grey high quality lambswool scarf. Would like to get a cashmere one some day, like the ones at Fort Belvedere. Red/orange/blue. I'm a sucker for red, the colour that is. A nice bright red really pops, especially with some neutral colours like grey. Agreed on office chairs. I have a SteelCase Leap (V2?) that I bought used. I hope I can afford a new Herman Miller/Steelcase in the future for my next chair. Used chairs can be good deals though. I hope I can afford all or at least most of the items in this video eventually.
So on your recommendation, I'm trying a gin martini with the vermouth you featured, using Aviation Gin (which is very flavorful) and you're right! It's absolutely sublime.
Good stuff. +1 for the chair, chef’s knife (gyuto), vitamix and Carpano/Luxardo, though the last two you need to be of discerning taste to appreciate. I’d include a quality mattress in the list. Stearns & Foster or higher.
For watches i use a Curren 8314 watch, while is a USD$35 it's work perfectly, and the finish is sturdy and the glass remain unspotted after a year of use, while i can see the appeal of high end brand, some low end watches can still caught the attention, especially between the younger ones and be part of a gentleman attire
Can you do video on how the notion of the gentleman has no historical basis, but is infact a form of cosplay for rich dudes that don't read comic books? I personally love the style, but to try to couch it all in some aristocratic notion of the "gentleman" is just silly.
Thinking about buying the Black Bow Tie in Silk Faille Grosgrain Sized Butterfly - Fort Belvedere, do you thinking it would be appropriate with an Ivory dinner jacket as in 20:40? or would you recommend another one?
Yes, it would look nice I think. The wide grosgrain has a wider rib. It really comes down to your preference. Personally, I would go with a grosgrain or barathea because of the texture.
@@aarondaniels629 I think there might be another solution. Some standing desks have treadmills. An adjustable desk that could be used for both standing and sitting would be great.

Quality leather gloves are a must in a cold weather climate, in my opinion. They protect you from the wind, which woollen gloves cannot

I'd like that. Especially if they included antique examples from before the wristwatch was invented.
