I always thought so, too. That, and the scene when he lights a cigarette to piss off his fiance. Jason's subtle (and not so subtle) talents as an actor are underappreciated.
For almost 30 years, we've used the name Cartwright every time we've had to wait for a table or made a carryout order.

His acting and the genious of Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld's writing is probably the best comedy the world will ever see.

@@Vjl5280 Seinfeld won an emmy in 1993...besides, who cares about Emmys. The show that won the next year, called Picket Fences, no one remembers. Seinfeld is still talked about 30 years later.

There are certain words or catchphrases that stick out for me in Seinfeld episodes even though I may not know the name of the episode. Cartwright is one and them and Mulva is another. This show was a riot. My favorite episode is not The Contest or any other, it is the Merv Griffin episode. Every skit in that one episode is hilarious and how Kramer didn't even react when all the character asked and wondered what the hell was going on.
I was watching a football game and one of the players was named Cartwright, so of course, my mind immediately says: Cartwright, 4!

I’ve never heard this from any of their interviews but I’ve speculated that the Chinese restaurant owner yells “Cartwright” after Tatiana asked to page Costanza because Costanza rhymes with Bonanza! And the family name in Bonanza was Cartwright!!

Watching this episode in the 90s was stressful. I had PTSD from all the endless restaurant waiting I’d done as a child. And then, when you finally sat down, you knew you’d have to live through ordering drinks, a salad bar, at least another half hour for appetizers…
Hilarious, I know I’m not Cartwright!
One of only two episodes where Kramer was not there. I think Michael Richards was not too happy about it. But they did it again in "Pen" where George was missing too . I guess it was easier to swallow it when 2 main characters were missing.
NBC was very against the idea to do whole episode in restaurant waiting room, but Jerry and Larry David insisted.
Episode was not complete disaster, but never considered good either.

They asked for my name again I told em Carl but because I have brown skin and look Hispanic despite the fact that I'm not they called me Pablo..
armst012 one time my cousin was putting an order for pick up for our uncle to get and he said the name was schmuck valeriani. Got the last name right but they said smook. It took him the entire ride home to get what they were trying to say.
