The empire is definitely my favorite faction in Star Wars and I loved the look of scar squadron and I didn't know there were so many of them. Wish there were more stories on them. Always fun to see imperial special forces customizing their gear set something that is rare to see in the empire ranks.
I only just now realized how insanely fine-tuned Hunter's sensitivity to electromagnetic frequencies must be in order for him to differentiate a squad of B1s from your common protocol droid or even simple background electromagnetic frequencies from his squad's own kit.
I could see Task Force 99 being the Antagonists of a future or final season of the Bad Batch as they've moved away from the empire and Tarkins fascination with the Idea of the Team but not the fondest of the clones I can certainly see Tarkin forming Task Force 99/SCARS to hunt down the batch being equal if not better than them needing Crosshair to rejoin making the difference being a key player. I would love to see an animated Luke Vs Krell this peaking Vader and Tarkins interest in him while setting him up to be a deep character and giving us some Luke fan service.
Even more interesting if Task Force 99 even have their own Omega, but an evil mirror of her that Omega has to overcome to help beat down her past demons.
i mean why not, black kursaar the black wokie was just a comic book character and later became live action so why not adding task force 99 for bad batches
If the empire sent these guys to hunt down the bad batch it would certainly solidify them as a threat. Though I think they’re dead by this point because they have not once been referenced since being stranded.
"In 19bby, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a moff for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Ord-Mantell underground. Today, still wanted by the Empire they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The Bad Batch." - and thats why clone force 99 will always be better.
Knowing how much Dave Filloni loves to retcon the books and comics, I wouldn’t be too surprised if he reconned the Bad Batch into becoming Task Force 99 later on in the timeline.
I personally feel they didn't lose anything when Bad Batch left they gained Crosshair and still had 90% of the other Clone units still, but yeah Tarkin Fragged up when he decided not to keep the Clone Army going longer cause he would have had better luck with the Rebellion a bit later, and a battle tested Army, then they may have won
Going to pop in here just to point out that this is highly unlikely. 1. Tarken did not make the call to disband Clone Production. Palps did. The cannon reason for this decision was cost-effectiveness. The problem with the Clone Army came down to scale. With the galaxy split between the Republic and CIS, the Clone Army was more able to maintain the Republic's territory. But with both factions being usurped and merged under the union of the Empire, territory doubled and the need to have a galaxy-wide police force came into question. Sure, the Clones are well-trained and have good shots. They could win battles. What they couldn't do was produce enough clones at a fast enough rate to both compensate for losses in battle AND a galaxy-wide deployment. They were too few. 2. While I do not believe it is cannon any longer but may also be worth noting is that continuing the Clone Production ran the risk of a Clone Rebellion, which happened according to Legends when the Kaminoians bred a clone army to fight the empire. The 501st was dispatched back to the planet to wipe out the clones. In addition to that though not tested was the threat of someone pulling the same trick Palpatine pulled back on him and modifying the inhib chips to use against the Empire. That would be more relevant to the current cannon story though as prior to the Clone Wars, it did not exist. Anyway, the main point is that the decision to discontinue the Clone Army was necessary for the Empire to operate on that large of a scale and trying to scale up the production of clones would have just taken too much financially by comparison. Sure, it might appear like a worthwhile investment but the fact it the Empire would have been bankrupt and collapsed under economic depression before the new cloning facilities ever got running. Cinema does a good job of overlooking the fact the Empire is still a functioning civilization that needs living breathing people to work jobs, earn an income, and spend that income to maintain a healthy and growing economy/society.
after the Death of Shu-Torun arc in the 2015 comic we have not hared anything about this unit, for the most part they seem to be replaced with Inferno Squad.
I'm still waiting for a flashback that shows that 99 was originally the first attempt at making an enhanced clone. It fails for him, but he in turn helps "raise" the rest of the Batch so they name their squad after him.
I think crosshair will initialize task force 99, but it will mostly be a bunch of eletie comandos were one of the charateristic of a bad batch is spread trough a "squad" rather than an individual. so the five aspects of tech are spread through a pair of pilots, some hackers, and a munitions expert. the aspects of wreker are through a flamer, brawler, and some regualr demolition commandos, etc.
I´ve read a comment about Task Force 99(i think they only appear in two at all), where they infiltrade a star destroyer which was stolen by the Rebels, it was a pretty cool one
It would be interesting if the empire would capture some of the bad badge and force them to help the task force train. How would the bad badge be handling something.
For all of you who want the bad batch to fight the fake bad batch. Theyre mainly involved durring the time luke is a jedi or jedi in training and we know by then hunter and the rest would be old and fat

This is so not fair. The Rebellion deserves their own elite units like Specforce from legends. The empire already got death troopers for crying out loud!
The death troopers are a different story and are not unique since they are basically a class of elites that also sometimes function as bodyguards who also act like droids despite being organic.
Can you explain why they gave echo that cybernetic implant in his head, the same one intelligence used? It kinda seems like a bad choice as they had to custom make his helmet after and it’s not a great place to be hit. Also couldn’t they have given him a robot arm that turns into what he has now?
