The city centre has become a no go zone for most people I know. I say this as a former "rude bwoy" of the city. Looks like a dystopian nightmare. I remember my brother once lived on corporation oaks, this was maybe 20 years ago, it wasn't Mayfair like, but was still a genuinely nice place to be. About 30 odd years ago the Jamaicans moved to Nottingham to St annes because there is a place in Jamaica called St annes. Not long after that it turned into the shit hole it is today drugs murder. It’s okay to walk through St Annes in the morning but try walking through the robin hood chase after 9 pm them two would not of made it home lol

Its more a family community area not full of drug dealers and drug addicts. Its just as good and as bad as every other area... Give it a rest.

Oh my goodness, the chase . 30 + years ago, I used to walk down to those shops with my grandma. It was beautiful. How sad . The flats were beautiful with well maintained gardens, and green spaces were lovely.
I lived in St Ann's until the age of 12. (Was put into foster care in Bulwell, on January 12th 2011) Was bad when I lived there. I remember The Chase being open, back in the 2000s. There was a library, Co-op, and the fish and chip shop being open. Wish it'll be open one more time.
I came out of Nottingham pen 20 years ago and went st annes on way 2 train station and i had 2 kids on bmx with straps arguing with each uver 2 try and sell me sum bobby brown and barry white 🚴♂️🚴♂️
Such a shame I lived in Nottingham for two years from 89 to 91 I lived halfway up the hill in St Anne’s right across the road from a pub called the Dame Agness Mellors a lot of good friendly people used to drink in there my family were made to feel very welcome we moved on and lost touch then heard the pub got knocked down years ago all I can tell you is the small community my mum & dad shared holidays with and became very good friends with deserved better than this

Grove Hill, Pallister Park, Brambles Farm, Thorntree, Park End might all be worth a visit if Billy travels up to Middlesbrough. I lived in Nottingham (Forest Fields) in the late 80's. I really liked the place to be honest. Hyson Green was the rough area back then.
