The attack was the latest in a series blamed on the Tehrik-e-Taliban, or the Pakistani Taliban.

But why would US target TTP ? TTP operates in Pakistan right ?
I sincerely hope the USA/West stay out of this conflict. As you confirmed, they failed to mention the support that helped last time around.

Any Army can carpet bomb innocent people and their villages. It takes real bravery and competence to conduct Counter Insurgency ops which minimizes collateral damage. If Pak Army was capable of COIN, then they would have done it in 2016 itself.

If the Pak army attempts to eliminate TTP it will result in perpetual civil war. If they want FATA to stay with Pak they will have to reconcile with a Art 370 type mechanism.
Why ttp don’t control a single area in FATA or anywhere anymore. We need a plan or action in Afghanistan to target ttp leadership we have our own drone fleets now
