Incredible. The New York scene has really had an influence on Gilad's soloing fluency!!!! He is really such a different guitarist than when he landed back in the early Small's days.
@@MethenySco Yes! You can see the work that he's invested in becoming what he has. All the greats have. What I've seen is that it helps to have started early and many who were born to musical families may also have greater incentive, the benefits of a creative environment and role models, etc... I'm grateful for the opportunity to have learned something about music and performance even if I could not have devoted everything to playing as I had to attend to other interests competing for my resources. Still it's provided a love for what others have achieved.
Couple things - doing it in Db instead of the original Ab, and also basing it around the vi chord climbing up instead of the ii. Add in a few half step ii-Vs and some passing diminished stuff and that’s it - super dope!
I asked Mike Clark what he was thinking about the changes in a tune he played. He just shook his head at me and said (paraphrasing) “I don’t think that way at all.”
Ofri Nehamya, his playing is like a mix between Kendrick Scott, Mark Guiliana, Nate Wood, Marcus Gilmore, Eric Harland, Jimmy McBride, And Marcus Baylor.
@@ericsearcy8939 Couldn't agree more. These guys are all phenomenal players, but in my opinion the playing has no relationship to the tune. Still Gilad is an amazing player.
Please don’t assume anything either way about people because of their nationality. I’m deeply ashamed of the US complicity in the Gaza conflict, but don’t target me because of my passport. I have no idea what Gilad thinks about this but when he makes a beautiful and powerful music statement it lifts us all. Let’s not debase that.
I'm incapable of getting enough of this drummer. Awesome clip.

Is technique that counts? Not at all to many notes/ Roy did it with a spezial feel that counts

I was thinking kinda the same thing. His sound is different from his early days. Nonetheless, I love his music and playing!!
He practiced, go figure

@@talbarbiro5375 you talking the drummer? What are some thing you learned?
Wow

whoooooooo
System overload.
I didn’t know Ryan Reynolds plays jazz guitar amazingly
I wonder what they’re thinking about for the changes. Sounds completely different.

what is this style of drumming? I keep searching for backing tracks like this and find nothing... anyone care to offer some help?
I love this music because I just need to sound like a metronome and everyone will said I am great, need no story telling and melodic sense. Loving it!
who is that drummer

@boba...
Too much beer during the days, now im clean sorry guys.
Reinventing the groove - somehow all gelling together but each instrument is also quite seperate - pretty awesome effect.
Are those 16ths sincopations? Or just did the drummer made mistakes?
Jesus...
Like my granny said: "Jesus Christ is good." ;)

Smoking.
Butchers with very sharp knifes
4:42 wtf
Totally killed the vibe and playfulness of the original
I was thinking the exact same thing!!! Branford Marsalis speaks about when artists do this “they lose the spirit of the tune”!!!!

And now what?
due due palle
I’m sure it sounded different in person in the room.
But the drum kit is just too damn loud.
I couldn’t get through it.
what a orrible version of this tune!!!
