The things that he is doing is to cut the deficit (which is unsustainable), which will lead to greater unemployment on the short term; cutting the government foreign trade subsidies (by having the dollar to peso ratio set at 1:400) which will only encourage domestic business, grow FDI and grow exports. He is doing what needs to be done to get Argentina out of its current economic situation.

Igual lo estabas pagando con inflación y quienes más sufren la inflación son siempre los más pobres, muchos de ellos nisiquiera viven en CABA e igual te estaban pagando el subsidio. * La obra publica cero es una forma de recortar gasto, en el mundo hay varios modelos exitosos donde el privado construye y el estado pone el espacio. Estos modelos son mucho menos regresivos porque quienes usan la obra son quienes la pagan resultando en un mejor servicio y mantenimiento por un precio menor. *Los medicamentos oncológicos sí se siguieron entregando, al igual que con los comedores no hay denuncias formales, solo dichos de receptores truchos que perdieron su curro y oh sorpresa, nunca dan su nombre. El gobierno sólo puso requisitos mínimos como enlistar los nombres de los beneficiarios. Qué pasaba antes? Se robaban buena parte de medicamentos y comida. *La licuación de las jubilaciones se dió en los primeros meses y se dieron aumentos discrecionales para compensarlos. Igual hubo pérdida pero también ten en cuenta que no se votó la nueva fórmula de la ley bases y mira de dónde venías, los jubilados ya habían perdido bastante poder adquisitivo en el anterior gobierno y no habían marchas ni indignados. *Los sueldos se están recuperando lentamente. Todavía tienes una mochila de piedras de la gestión anterior, no hay fórmulas mágicas, si se suben las paritarias por decreto puedes entrar en una espiral inflacionaria precios - salarios. Nada de lo anterior fue gratis y hoy lo están pagando pero se está haciendo todo lo posible para que el golpe sea lo menos fuerte posible. En fin, esto no se va a solucionar de la noche a la mañana y hay un largo camino por recorrer para que lleguen a tener la macro en orden pero después de décadas tienen un norte con el cual pueden salir adelante. Todo lo anterior era pan para hoy y más hambre para mañana, todos los paleativos cortoplacistas los hundían más en el largo plazo. *Las tarifas de transporte subieron porque el sistema era totalmente deficitario, pagaban centavos para movilizarse cuando en otras provincias y en otros países de similar poder adquisitivo se pagaba mucho más. Igual lo estabas pagando con inflación y quienes más sufren la inflación son siempre los más pobres, muchos de ellos nisiquiera viven en CABA e igual te estaban pagando el subsidio.
* La obra publica cero es una forma de recortar gasto, en el mundo hay varios modelos exitosos donde el privado construye y el estado pone el espacio. Estos modelos son mucho menos regresivos porque quienes usan la obra son quienes la pagan resultando en un mejor servicio y mantenimiento por un precio menor.
*Los medicamentos oncológicos sí se siguieron entregando, al igual que con los comedores no hay denuncias formales, solo dichos de receptores truchos que perdieron su curro y oh sorpresa, nunca dan su nombre. El gobierno sólo puso requisitos mínimos como enlistar los nombres de los beneficiarios. Qué pasaba antes? Se robaban buena parte de medicamentos y comida.
*La licuación de las jubilaciones se dió en los primeros meses y se dieron aumentos discrecionales para compensarlos. Igual hubo pérdida pero también ten en cuenta que no se votó la nueva fórmula de la ley bases y mira de dónde venías, los jubilados ya habían perdido bastante poder adquisitivo en el anterior gobierno y no habían marchas ni indignados.
*Los sueldos se están recuperando lentamente. Todavía tienes una mochila de piedras de la gestión anterior, no hay fórmulas mágicas, si se suben las paritarias por decreto puedes entrar en una espiral inflacionaria precios - salarios. Nada de lo anterior fue gratis y hoy lo están pagando pero se está haciendo todo lo posible para que el golpe sea lo menos fuerte posible.
En fin, esto no se va a solucionar de la noche a la mañana y hay un largo camino por recorrer para que lleguen a tener la macro en orden pero después de décadas tienen un norte con el cual pueden salir adelante. Todo lo anterior era pan para hoy y más hambre para mañana, todos los paleativos cortoplacistas los hundían más en el largo plazo.
Por cierto, no soy argentino pero estoy al tanto de la situación con datos, no con pruebas anecdóticas que periodistas tendenciosos levantan porque les arde que les hayan quitado la pauta.

Not only the prices in supermarkets are ridiculously high (comparing our prices and salaries with europeans, one liter milk in proportion would be around 15 to 20 euros). What I, and all the people I know in Argentina, experience is: energy 200% more expensive, health insurance 350%, rent 120%, other services 100%, public transportation 380%, any sort of medication way over 100% in comparison with what we paid in December. Oh, but taxes for luxury products were reduced, thank God! Some cars cost several millions pesos less now while most pensions are 200.000 pesos and minimum wage is just a bit higher than that. Maybe that was one of the secrets to force some of his math to work. Again, who is the "casta"?

Milei always made it clear that the first months of the economic adjustment would be hard before the economy picked up again. You never talked about that, about the endless rise of inflation and poverty before Milei came to power.
