The only exceptence to that roamy thing is Ballora, but her mechanic completely neutralises that. She'll mess you up a lot and is the most stressing character in the entire game. Base gameplay of Sister Location base game is shit but actually, fnaf sister location was supposed to be released with the custom night, instead of having it as a dlc so the gameplay loss in base game can be retrieved with it but scott kinda rushed it. And even though the base gameplay is terrible, it added a lot to the story too. Also Fnaf 3 has the almost same feeling but people mostly dislike it because the game never actually explains how you get over everything and people are too lazy to find it out through trial and error. Springtrap, the only real threat will hide from you in the cameras, he still has that roam thing but he has more chance to move to you and he can use vents to sneak into you too. The systems fail frequently which makes you have less observation over him, and it stresses you out, and even though phantoms are non lethal, they'll prevent you from checking and fighting against Springtrap. And fnaf 3 also reveals a lot of lore too. This is why Fnaf SL and 3 are my favorites, fun gameplay that requires more skill (Custom Night for SL) and much more iconic stuff for the lore of the game.
In FNAF 1, 20-19-19-20 mode is actually technically harder. This is because the 19s belong to Chica and Bonnie, who now have a 5% chance of not moving, including at your office. Let me explain. All animatronics have a timer that, once it ends, has a random chance of making the animatronic move. The higher the difficulty, the more likely they are to move. If their AI is at 20, then they have a 100% chance of moving every movement interval. This includes when they are at your door. So when they get to your door on AI level 20, they are guaranteed to leave a few seconds later. However, on AI level 19, they have a 5% chance of not moving and forcing you to keep the door shut for longer. Technically they have a 5% chance of not moving at any point in the building in AI level 19, but that’s okay because where they go is random anyway. Bonnie might actually go to Parts and Services rather than to the West Hallway, so adding a 5% chance to not move doesn’t really affect anything.
Also, to add onto this, the hardest version of 20/19/19/20 would be the original mobile release. Specifically the Day 1 version. The mobile version has shorter nights, but the power drain and animatronic movement is made faster to compensate. The original release actually had Bonnie and Chica moving about every 2 seconds and the power drained even faster, but an update a few days later made these aspects a little bit more manageable.
27:52 I'm just going to clarify something with this, given I've watched another person do a no maintainence panel challenge regarding the game, and they went through all the nights: Ventilation errors on nightmare mode only occur if you get jumpscared by a phantom that causes a ventilation error. The game has a system to cause ventilation errors every X seconds, but it's not active in that night. In other words: That list at the end should be the priority in all nights other than nightmare difficulty.
Wait. If that's right, then how did Markiplier get a vent error on his final AN run while staring directly at Springtrap without a phantom jumpscare? Or can Springtrap cause a vent error when standing in the doorway?

Sister Location technically DOES have a custom night, Scott had added it in an update. Pizza Sim's difficulty can be augmented by taking advertisements and gaining Liability/Health & Safety.
Technically, 20/19/19/20 mode is harder in FNAF 1 because on 20 mode, Bonnie and Chica are always guaranteed to move on each opportunity. By giving them a slight chance to fail on 19 mode, they have a chance of getting stuck in front of your doors for a long time opposed to immediately leaving.
@@Nick-bo1gl The reason it is considered harder is because the normal strategy of closing the door for a few seconds when they show has actual chance of failing. This means you have to use more resources to make sure that they are gone before resuming your usual loop. Resources are already tight, so having to use extra for an x% percent is more difficult.

Ultimate custom night probably just needs its own video. It's so chaotic and random on its own with hidden characters and everything going on so quickly. I still believe it would be entertaining to see some kind of pattern or strategies for this game.
i saw Tech Rules propose that in the first game, it may theoretically be possible that something like 20/19/19/20 mode would be harder than all 20s because a lot of 4x20 mode strats rely on movement opportunities being guaranteed - so if the door is closed on Bonnie or Chica they are guaranteed to move *away* on their next movement. If their AI is set to 19 there's a 5% chance that you close the door on them and they proceed to fail their movement, which could happen many times in a row and waste a whole bunch of your power leaving you defenseless for long enough that Freddy is almost guaranteed to get you when your power runs out There's some kind of balance to strike obviously as achieving something like this you want to maximise aggression so they move to your door quickly, but the higher their level the more likely they are to move from a closed door. At 1 or 2 they probably won't even get to your door for a few hours but at 18 or 19 they'll almost always leave the door if they're closed off, so there's somewhere between where they'll rush to your door but are still likely to get stuck there
having a huge video essay covering ucn would be super fun, discussing each and every animatronic's mechanics so on and so forth along with the community's strategies would make for a good long length discussion you just earned a sub and i wish to see this come to fruition
The funniest thing about fnaf 2 toy chica is that she originally was supposed to do the same blackout as toy bonnie but it was cut (the animation is still in the files)
@@thatoneguy9582 It was an intentional break. He made her check if the mask's Alterable Value equals 99, when the highest it ever goes is 2. If you make it check for =2, she will actually pop out. He did the same thing for Toy Bonnie in the old mobile port, where it checks for a value of 99, so he never actually does the animation.
I like to imagine that night guards are dying over and over and over again, making new strategies over some time and in the end getting out of the death loop I call it "Natsuki Subaru's method"
I feel like most custom nights would be more annoying to deal with if you put some of the wandering ones at 18 or 19 rather than 20, since that removes their consistency
I love the custom nights in FNAF since it’s the perfect way to design how you can create your own difficulty to how a typical night in a FNAF game should be. This also makes it clear that there is a 50/50 chance that in the first game setting 1987 your can start a night without Golden Freddy crashing your game. However it’s pretty much not officially possible yet but that’s just a theory a game theory!
fun fact! if your doing fnaf 1 make sure when your pulling up the camera wait for the camera to show cam 4b if you flip it and flip it down fast enough it wont register and foxy can still move so wait for the camera to show cam 4b before closing it
What a random situation where I'm actually talked about in a video XD. Thank you for sharing even more my underrated/broken strat. I had shared this vid to my brothers and we were crazy when you announce me XD. Anyways, peace!
12:42 fun fact: Shadow Freddy can’t actually kill you. I have seen many people encounter him (and I have seen him myself), and he just stares at you until you put down the monitor, like Endo-02. Shadow Bonnie, however, CAN kill you.
You could have talked about how the standard commands that are built into clickteam fusion (the thing Scott made the games in) can be abused to pause the game like Ctrl+p or to skip dialog in sister location by muting the audio with another command
i’d still love to see stuff about 4 and SL, especially after seeing chickeninja finish 4 without using audio _at all_ and having played SL’s golden freddy mode myself
RE: FNAF1, someone (I'm pretty sure it was TechRules) theorized that setting Bonnie and Chica to 19 instead of 20 might make for a harder challenge, since at 20 they're guaranteed to leave the door if you close it.
If you ever make a part two to this video PLEASE check out the maxmodelist!! It's a list ranking the hardest "max modes" in mainline fnaf games, and even fangames. The current hardest mode is Funtime Gala Very Hard mode, and 50/20 mode is at number 81.
wild that out of _all_ the fangames that have been made the hardest one is a straight modification of one of the mainline games (.not counting unlimited list iunno what's going on with chuck e cheese rebooted AC but it looks like ass to play)
@@thatoneguy9582 yeah, a lot of mods are at the top (there are 4 mods in the top 5). This is for a lot of reasons but its mainly because the mods can be balanced by people who are super duper good at the game, whereas original games are balanced for a general population CEC:R TN AC is a funny mode, considering that the challenged werent balanced at all, and its a miracle the mode is even possible. The only reason its higher on the Unlimited List is because the UL bases placements on 50% skill and 50% rng, whereas the Primary List accounts roughly 90% skill 10% rng; and TN AC has a lot of rng. Also it just sucks to play lmfao black screen simulator mode

I was literally searching for a video like this a couple days ago. Hopefully we can get a comprehensive analysis on UCN as well since that can be super complicated and I’d really like to understand how it works :)
The hardest difficulty for fnaf 1 custom night is actually to set them to 20/19/19/20 as the *slightly* decrease AI levels on bonnie and chica give them a chance to linger at your door, whereas on 20 AI, they will never spend more than 1 movement oppertunity at the door. This means that their less predictable pathing with 19 AI level instead of 20, would increase the power draw to keep them at bay. It is entirely possible that 20/10/19/20 could be more difficult since the lower score for bonnie would increase the amount of time the left door has to be down compared to a normal 20/20/20/20 run.
Great video! I recommend having a flashing lights warning somewhere ⚠️ I had to lower the brightness and make the video small to avoid having epilepsy episode
I’d love to see more fnaf content it’s always interesting to hear about the lengths people will go to fully exploit features and come up with strategies
At 8:35 , with the whole calculation thing, it's actually wrong, Freddy is supposed to move since 12 is greater than 9, I kinda got confused so I had to check to make sure, regardless pretty good video!
I love this video. As a fnaf max mode tryhard, it was really cool to see this side of the game being talked about by people like you lol. keep up the good work :)
The fact that these challenges ended up a standard part of FNAF is pretty fitting, since Scott’s other games are well known for having difficulty curves that go close to vertical by the end.
I love your videos Minaxa! Would love to see a video on UCN. Astralspiff's blindfolded runs would be a cool thing to look at for the more broken side of things.
Yes fellow astralspiff viewer!! I would say he goes pretty in depth on the technical side of things, for a FNAFtuber at least (him having admitted to spending two years in the fanbase with little to no lore knowledge). But it would still be a cool set of runs to analyze
On version 1.0, you could perform a glitch on consoles by closing a door and immediately opening the menu, fooling the game into believing the door isn't closed, letting you block both entrances without losing power. (It will bug out the game and make it look like the doors are open, but you will be fine. It will also bug out the light by keeping it on without touching it. You should still Check foxy to stop from still losing power from him, but you should be basically immortal)
I'd love to see a video on all 4 of the remaining games (Help Wanted and Security Breach probably not, though). Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
Funnily enough, as of a couple days ago, Insstaa found a way to break FNAF 2's 10/20 mode even further by using a glitch to stall the withered animatronics for the whole night lmao
You just got a new sub this was really well made not many people talk about the custom nights while I absolutely love them also I love that u brought some attention to shooter because hes insane.
It would be interesting to see a video about the others games and their strategies, I personally think that, even if the strategie is'nt game-breaking, it's very cool to see how people came with those ideas
This was so well done! I really appreciate how you used an approach that included upbeat fun music so that I could focus on what you were saying rather than being frightened. Your essay was very informative and well researched. I didn’t know that someone had beat Markiplier to completion of 4/20 mode so that was a surprise.
I remember really enjoying fnaf 2 because it was easy to get into a pattern through the starting nights and just optimize it to win. I didn't own the game, I just beat night 3 and onward for my friend on their ipad using what I learned from watching markplier play to night 5 or so. I didn't even know there was a definitive strategy like fnaf 1 for 10/20 mode. I just did what I was doing and got to 4 am or something and I believe I messed up a mask on withered bonnie? Good times lol
8:36 if Freddy's assigned number is 12 and the number rolled is 9 (As shown) he passes the movement opportunity since 12 is greater then or equal to 9. The video states that 9 fails due to being less then 12. if that was the case then all 20 would be almost trivial since no number can be greater then 20

I love one thing on particular about FNAF3's scary ambience. The game suggests that the sound is coming from Springtrap himself. That sound is literally the sound coming from the decrepit soringbonnie suit and it's old, possibly failing, parts.
I definitely want to see a video dedicated to UCN. I was hoping this video would talk about it when I clicked on it, but the older fnaf games history was welcome regardless, and informative.
Fnaf 3 is for the more casual players. Dont want anything too insane, but still want to enjoy the game. I played nightmare and i managed to beat it. It only took me i think only 1 death. 2 things I suggest is whereever springtrap is and if theres a vent, always prepare by closing off one of the closest vents, and if you see a static if theres just a screen error, abd you dont hear him go into a vent, use the audio lure, check if theres a static on the same cam, and immediately go to the maintenance pannel and fix it. Use the the "fix all" if absolutely necessary and if you have the opportunity to do so
Fun fact some people didn't knew: Scott-the creator of the game already announced that the 20/20mode was made to be an impossible level and to force player to give up. He was really surprise to know each 20/20 mode from each game has been finish and congrats the players. Nowadays 20/20 mode is Seen more easy because more and more players finish the level but as a fnaf pro in termes of completing the games, i'm telling you, it took me days to finish it when i started playing. Good Luck to every New fnaf enjoyer🎉🎉
This video made me realize that fox is never with the main 3 because he always has his own mechanics which is a nice detail "explains" why pirate cove is seprate from the stage its because he is quite literally built different
You really should cover the hardest modes in fan games, they are a completely different breed when it comes to difficulty. Even 50/20’s difficulty can’t compare to the hardest modes. There is even a list called the “Max Mode List” which ranks modes which have been beaten in difficulty
I saw this when it came out, but didn't comment until now, but it makes me happy to see you come out with a new fnaf video. It's been awhile since we've seen a new FNAF video on your channel.

i saw Tech Rules propose that in the first game, it may theoretically be possible that something like 20/19/19/20 mode would be harder than all 20s because a lot of 4x20 mode strats rely on movement opportunities being guaranteed - so if the door is closed on Bonnie or Chica they are guaranteed to move *away* on their next movement. If their AI is set to 19 there's a 5% chance that you close the door on them and they proceed to fail their movement, which could happen many times in a row and waste a whole bunch of your power leaving you defenseless for long enough that Freddy is almost guaranteed to get you when your power runs out
There's some kind of balance to strike obviously as achieving something like this you want to maximise aggression so they move to your door quickly, but the higher their level the more likely they are to move from a closed door. At 1 or 2 they probably won't even get to your door for a few hours but at 18 or 19 they'll almost always leave the door if they're closed off, so there's somewhere between where they'll rush to your door but are still likely to get stuck there
having a huge video essay covering ucn would be super fun, discussing each and every animatronic's mechanics so on and so forth along with the community's strategies would make for a good long length discussion
you just earned a sub and i wish to see this come to fruition
How do you feel now that you got your wish?
@@ErasersRoq OMW TO WATCH IT
The funniest thing about fnaf 2 toy chica is that she originally was supposed to do the same blackout as toy bonnie but it was cut (the animation is still in the files)
*not intentionally cut if im remembering correctly, scott just fucked up her code and now she doesnt do it
@@thatoneguy9582 oh right yeah because whenever people tried to mod it back in it would always crash the game
If there were two toy Bonnie’s 10/20 might actually be impossible
@@thatoneguy9582 It was an intentional break. He made her check if the mask's Alterable Value equals 99, when the highest it ever goes is 2. If you make it check for =2, she will actually pop out. He did the same thing for Toy Bonnie in the old mobile port, where it checks for a value of 99, so he never actually does the animation.
I like to imagine that night guards are dying over and over and over again, making new strategies over some time and in the end getting out of the death loop
I call it "Natsuki Subaru's method"
god haven’t heard that name in ages
i think diavolo"s method would probably fit also
13:24 it's actually 6/20, accounting for Foxy, Puppet, BB, The shadows and that one character split into 8
Most animatronics are copy paste so yeah
Stuff like this really makes you realize how smart Scott was when coding the animatronics.
I would’ve like if SL custom night would have been included just because I never hear much about the gameplay. It’s usually about the cutscenes
It's a good thing Toy Chica's office animation doesn't function
The would probably be impossible if that was in the game lol
It actually makes the game easier, toy chica always leaves the vent immediately
Having the ai uncapped also makes the game easier surprisingly
I feel like most custom nights would be more annoying to deal with if you put some of the wandering ones at 18 or 19 rather than 20, since that removes their consistency
Yeah that's true for example for fnaf 1 20/19/19/20 is usually considered harder than 20/20/20/20
the minaxa video is now real
"Can we get so higher"
@Thefunniboneman oohh ohh ohh
@@Ketoo74 *CAN WE GET MUCH HIGHER?!*
I like how fnaf 2 was sooooo strategized to the point where they overlooked even messing with other mechanics like a simple flashlight
I love the custom nights in FNAF since it’s the perfect way to design how you can create your own difficulty to how a typical night in a FNAF game should be. This also makes it clear that there is a 50/50 chance that in the first game setting 1987 your can start a night without Golden Freddy crashing your game. However it’s pretty much not officially possible yet but that’s just a theory a game theory!
there isn't any way that it should be.
I love that the audio warning wasn’t even for a jump scare, he was just super excited
fun fact! if your doing fnaf 1 make sure when your pulling up the camera wait for the camera to show cam 4b if you flip it and flip it down fast enough it wont register and foxy can still move so wait for the camera to show cam 4b before closing it
Ah yes my favorite type of youtube videos: video essays about something interesting in very old but not to much games with ddlc music in background.
Knowing FNAF 4 story nights were completed with no audio speaks that theres no end to breaking these games.
Great video! UCN has so many interesting mechanics most people don't know about, it definitely deserves its own video.
I’d love to see a video on players perfecting UCN. It’s such a complex game
om😱😱gomgomgomg it the tru3 playe
Astralspiff has played it blindfolded if that's close enough
I would like hearing that but for the TJOC
@@etam8099the the joy of creation?
48/20 blindfolded
I was surprised you didn’t mention deleting Foxy during the FNaF 1 portion. Great video by the way!
You could have talked about how the standard commands that are built into clickteam fusion (the thing Scott made the games in) can be abused to pause the game like Ctrl+p or to skip dialog in sister location by muting the audio with another command
"fnaf has been considered not difficult" take this coming from somone whos playing AVP marine campaign on nightmare: all fnaf games are hard.
i’d still love to see stuff about 4 and SL, especially after seeing chickeninja finish 4 without using audio _at all_ and having played SL’s golden freddy mode myself
The current hardest mode is Funtime Gala Very Hard mode, and 50/20 mode is at number 81.
wild that out of _all_ the fangames that have been made the hardest one is a straight modification of one of the mainline games
(.not counting unlimited list iunno what's going on with chuck e cheese rebooted AC but it looks like ass to play)
@@thatoneguy9582 yeah, a lot of mods are at the top (there are 4 mods in the top 5). This is for a lot of reasons but its mainly because the mods can be balanced by people who are super duper good at the game, whereas original games are balanced for a general population
CEC:R TN AC is a funny mode, considering that the challenged werent balanced at all, and its a miracle the mode is even possible. The only reason its higher on the Unlimited List is because the UL bases placements on 50% skill and 50% rng, whereas the Primary List accounts roughly 90% skill 10% rng; and TN AC has a lot of rng. Also it just sucks to play lmfao black screen simulator mode

ahhh that makes a lot of sense actually fair enough
that being said i imagine it would be sick to have one of aformentioned really good people make a full-scale original game and then go batshit crazy with the max mode- wait actually is that just frogger’s 7/20 is that whats going on there
@@thatoneguy9582 I'm actually doing that lol
It is entirely possible that 20/10/19/20 could be more difficult since the lower score for bonnie would increase the amount of time the left door has to be down compared to a normal 20/20/20/20 run.
i'm glad the goat shooter is getting some recognition
:D
@@Shooter25YT oh hi :D
Great video!
I recommend having a flashing lights warning somewhere ⚠️
I had to lower the brightness and make the video small to avoid having epilepsy episode
I love how the most replayed section of the video is the end of the raid sponsor where it cuts to the actual video
This 💯💯💯
Yes fellow astralspiff viewer!!
When dire dire docks started playing I got goosebumps omg
It would be interesting to see a video about the others games and their strategies, I personally think that, even if the strategie is'nt game-breaking, it's very cool to see how people came with those ideas
The mobile version of FNAF 1 was absolutely impossible. My cousin somehow managed to do it though
In FNAF 2 Scott planned to give Toy Bonnie’s mechanic to Toy Chica as well…
that fnac 3 ost hit hard, its definitely fitting for talking about fnaf
Its dope how 9 years later and FNAF is still alive

This was so well done! I really appreciate how you used an approach that included upbeat fun music so that I could focus on what you were saying rather than being frightened. Your essay was very informative and well researched. I didn’t know that someone had beat Markiplier to completion of 4/20 mode so that was a surprise.
i think sl's custom night is worth talking about along with ucn despite not having gamebreaking stuff like fnaf 1-3
18:53 bro started spitting music facts
I remember really enjoying fnaf 2 because it was easy to get into a pattern through the starting nights and just optimize it to win. I didn't own the game, I just beat night 3 and onward for my friend on their ipad using what I learned from watching markplier play to night 5 or so. I didn't even know there was a definitive strategy like fnaf 1 for 10/20 mode. I just did what I was doing and got to 4 am or something and I believe I messed up a mask on withered bonnie? Good times lol
I've actually heard of the one that you can alter the frame rate so foxy can't get you. It is honestly one of the dumbest ways to win (in a good way)
8:36 if Freddy's assigned number is 12 and the number rolled is 9 (As shown) he passes the movement opportunity since 12 is greater then or equal to 9. The video states that 9 fails due to being less then 12. if that was the case then all 20 would be almost trivial since no number can be greater then 20

@@YuriDDLCShorts5 thank you for adding so much to this discussion. Everyone who reads this comment is now going to be more informed thanks to your comment
4/20 mode took me like 2 weeks to beat lol! I looked up like 20 tutorials and finally found one that worked!
I just want to point out that the “green run” in fnaf one only used 2% more power than the nothing run
I love that I can hear that the guy who beat FnaF 1's 4/20 mode is Finnish
This one has a Summoning Salt vibe to it, I like it.
Use the the "fix all" if absolutely necessary and if you have the opportunity to do so
Hearing Toy Bonnie described like that in the Reddit post gives him so much personality. 😂🤣
Fun fact some people didn't knew:
Scott-the creator of the game already announced that the 20/20mode was made to be an impossible level and to force player to give up.
He was really surprise to know each 20/20 mode from each game has been finish and congrats the players.
Nowadays 20/20 mode is Seen more easy because more and more players finish the level but as a fnaf pro in termes of completing the games, i'm telling you, it took me days to finish it when i started playing.
Good Luck to every New fnaf enjoyer🎉🎉
this video was incredible!
I would love to see more video essays of the other games!
Is there a server?
Players really went heard Edison rap "No lights, no cameras, no sound. See?" and took it to heart.
Oh look it’s FNaF was NOT having it with Toy Bonnie 💀
I saw this when it came out, but didn't comment until now, but it makes me happy to see you come out with a new fnaf video.
It's been awhile since we've seen a new FNAF video on your channel.

One thing I really appreciate (which many people won't realise) is the use of Undertale and Doki Doki Literature Club music. You are in my gaming good book.
I've tired FNAF 1's 4/20 mode and my closest attempt got to 4 am. But got killed by Freddy when I lost the power
fnaf 3 nightmare agressive is just the player repeatedly hitting springtrap with the tablet until 6 am
Toy bonnie decided to make his own rules and became the a$$hole of FNAF 2 following BB
Cool video, brought me back since I used to grind 4/20 & 10/20 back in the day. Furthest I ever got was around 4 AM for 2, though.
In 10/20 mode, no animatronic is actually at 20 AI. Everyone but Foxy and Golden Freddy are at 15, Foxy is at 17, and Golden Freddy is at 10
has anyone made a mod that makes them actually 20 ai
@@1000-THRyes, its actually easier when its like that
