    I never understood the backlash behind FnaF World. I always thought of it as the cutesy RPG parallel to the horror focused main games. It made me feel bad for Scott when he said he really enjoyed making RPGs and I was sad that the first time he tried to make one with his name out there, it was hated on to the point of being ignored and relegated to being another website for teasers, even if it was really cool that Scott used the website like that.

    • @ZoroarkLover98

      Yeah. While I see how FNaF World was flawed, I still love it to this day. It is like, the only instance where you can play with the Characters without almosty dying, too.
      In that sense, it kinda makes me want to see more of that side. We only ever see the animatronics doing scary things, but we have never seen the actual characters. Like, the in-world characters, the unpossessed and unbuggy ones.

    7:37 The 'hybrid' / Salvage theory was kind of important back in the day. No one knew what Springtrap was or even his name at this point. The teaser with the animatronic parts with it's text of "what can we use?" made many people theorise that the new tattered looking animatronic was made of scrap pieces (kind of like Ennard or better yet Scrap Baby) and fans were calling it Salvage.

    • @u731
      @u731 Рік тому +219

      it's not that it's just down to texture swap. it's just that he already had a clear idea of how to do things after the first game and the mechanics aren't that complicated. If I were scott, I'd probably restart from scratch for each game because I feel like it would get confusing having to change everything (renaming existing stuff, changing the camera layout and animatronic behaviour, etc...)
      Since he knew what to do, he didn't spend much time thinking about how to optimize things better, which most likely saved a lot of time.
      The one thing that must've taken a long time were the 3D models. Those look like they took a while to model and texture. I truly admire his dedication. (I'm thinking mostly about fnaf 2, 3 and 4. Fnaf 1 animatronics were pretty simple in design)

I was around when only small bits of the lore was present and many fantheories were treated as canon like William being called Vincent cuz nobody knew his real name and that he really loves toast. Or that Springtrap is actually a good guy and his jumpscare says ,,help me" ,,forgive me" or that the phantoms are to warn you of him. Heck even those old animations were good and nostalgic. I remember being addicted to the lore of this series, watching videos of people tear apart absolutely every detail of every game or teaser image.
    My interest mainly died out after FNAF4, but it had been waning since after 3.
    I never knew that message from Scott existed, but it brings a smile to my face hearing it read.
    FNAF was made for all of us, the community. Made for us to play and enjoy, but to also rip to absolute shreds, and we looked everywhere for the story.
    In my eyes, FNAF Sim is the end of the series. Everyone, and everything just burned to a crisp, and left to be forgotten.
    It wasn't just the deep lore and gameplay that made everyone love FNAF so much, it was also Scott. He turned everything into a game, allowing the community to always be active!
    He put as much thought into the community, as he did the games.
    FNAF wasn't a series, it was a multi-year event. That games were just a part of it, like games at a carnival. Sure, you can play the games whenever, but they'll never have that same feeling they once did.
    FNAF will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Scott, for making my childhood, just like so many other Scott's now that I think about it.

      The series's mess of a story will definitely always give it a deep and convoluted community of theorists - it got rewritten quite a few times between the games. In the original storyline, the Crying Child was the Puppet, the Bite of '87 wasn't real by the time FNaF 4 came out (it became '82 and then '83), and Shadow Freddy is speculated to represent the yellow suit used to lure the children, before the original Bonnie counterpart to Fredbear was conceptualized. Now we have all these old, outdated pieces of lore, storylines that don't line up, making an even more confusing and unsolvable mess of a series - but it's still got its good aspects. Unfortunately it has moved on from that, without haunting or teasers or major community interactions anymore, but the community itself and the history of what those original games did - truly original games, both in the series and in gaming as a whole - will remain.

    • @Valcuda
      @Valcuda Рік тому +11

      @@ultmateragnarok8376 Yeah, the story is definitely a complete mess!
      FNAF 4 originally revealed that everything was just a dream, but since the community hated that so much, Scott had to throw that out, and then somehow rewrite the story so 4 takes place in the same universe as all the others.
      I wish Scott would come out and reveal the true story or stories of the games, cause like you said, so many remnants of old stories just don't add up anymore, making an unsolvable puzzle.

I do really agree that he should've come clean about the sheer number of retcons, though.

    The early releases of Five Nights at Freddy's were a part of most of our late childhoods before becoming adults and I think that's one of the reason most of us hold this franchise so close to heart. It connects with your freshest childhood memories of the hype, the exciting scare and the theories we all used to make. And I am so happy Scott went from almost bankrupt to being ABLE to retire freely with the enormous financial boost these games gave him, It leaves me with a bittersweet feeling knowing Scott is gone but he is okay, his family and him are not financially struggling anymore and in return he gave us one of the most cherished memories before growing up.

    sister location’s teasers are always going to be my favorite. from how detailed they are to the little extra things that were added to it. (like how the amount it bidybabs in that one teaser is equal to the amount of times “don’t hold it against us” is said in the sl trailer.) seriously, i’ve been wanting to put that ennard teaser up on my wall for a while now lol.
    oh yeah everyone remember back when we thought ennard didn’t have a body and he was just a mess of wires? good times.

    Fnaf was released the week I started my sophomore year of high school, a few weeks before I turned 15. To say that these games have been a massive part of my adolescence is a vast understatement. At times, they made up my ENTIRE adolescence, and I spent years of my life poring over the series, trying to figure out the lore, discussing it with all of my friends...I owe so much to these games, as toxic as the fan base can be at times. Wishing Scott and his 6 (!!) kids happiness and bliss, and I hope someday we might be able to see another Cawthon-original game, Freddy's-related or otherwise. I would love to see what else he could come up with outside of the world of Fnaf!

    FNAF helped me connect to so many people, both online and irl. I was in 7th grade when it was released, and even though it scared me at the time, I just loved the designs of the characters and the reactions of others playing it. I'm currently in college now majoring in animation and completing my second year this spring. I still enjoy watching FNAF videos and over the years my younger niece became invested in FNAF, which helped me bond with her more. I'll never forget the hype I felt whenever a new FNAF game came out when it was Scott making them and I'll always cherish those moments for years to come.

    i would do anything for fnaf to go back to being more of a horror game with a twisted and disturbed story behind it, it really felt like it was something out of our real world. Now i feel like fnaf without scott's participation in it is focused more on how impressive it looks rather on the impact it has on the player during and after playing through the game and learning stuff from the old minigames.

    I still remember the hype culture surrounding them. It is one of those things where you had to be there to understand. Ever since the FNAF 2/3 teasers,whenever Scott did so much as breath there would be a giant flood of people scouring Scottgames,searching the website and freaking out over the new reveal,this was in it's prime when FNAF 4 came out,with the "was it me" images popping up weekly. It was insane since everyone figured that the series was done after 3,but then out of nowhere there was Nightmare Freddy holding his top hat with those little freddles and the words "was it me?" spread across in dark red lettering. It was sick,and IMO the series should have stayed with this type of marketing. It was mysterious and helped spread more mystery and nuance to the series,but I understand why they cannot do it anymore
