Absolutely nothing like seeing the first coats going on the body, and that’s a beautiful looking colour on a gorgeous wee car. The depths you got in the paint is amazing, it just keeps getting deeper and deeper, you could almost swim 🏊♀️ in it. If it was my car I’d be over the moon for it. Stunning job.
Fantastic work Gavin love the colour only thing that makes me nervous when using single stage. Is the number clear coats over single stage and issues in getting getting solvent pop.
40 minutes between coats with or without baking.
We only bake once all the coats are on, this is a tried and tested system I've been doing it for quite a long time and it's part of the Novol for classic car system

Going to try those Novol products on my work which is mostly classic minis.
Just tried the Protect 360 epoxy primer and like that.
Keep the videos up - great to see 👍.
We use a lot of the protector for 360 it's a great product

Ha ha.. Marcus hayes will laugh at your comments about carbon panels.. hes got carbon boot bonnet ect ect. Cant see the problem with using carbon because they are only bolted on until they own the vehicle's!!!

I always wondered about clear over direct gloss and fancy having a go myself. Does it not take the definition off the edges & swage lines a bit? Although I did hear you say you're using about 30% thinners in the medium clear!

gavin what gun did you use for the base coat paint please and you used the LS 400 for the clear
Andrew for the base coat Iwata w400 classic with the WB2 aircap and for the clear coat Iwata WS 400 1.3 HD

How much paint in total as in with hardener and thinners per coat ml wise?
For one coat of Direct gloss on this particular job it took about 1 L

I'm not a painter, so I'm sure this question will appear stupid to most of you; sorry about that, but if you planned to clear the car after the colour coat, why use direct gloss and not normal base colour?
It just gives a much deeper look when doing it this way
Don't you worry their is too much product on the car ? could crack later on in places like the door shuts and in swage lines etc.
This is the Novo for classic car tried and tested system, been doing this for many years with no problems whatsoever
