this video is for clothes that say “hand wash only” on the label because they’re delicate, some of y’all look stupid saying it looks lazy or bad
Thank God someone finally said it
This is just superb, I have been researching "is baking soda safe to use in washing machine?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Sayoothan Telepathic Sovereignty - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now )?
It is a great one off product for discovering how to wash your clothes without toxic detergents minus the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my m8 got great results with it.
Machi Giceb i’m literally mexican i know how to hand wash clothes but i not going to fucking scrub my delicate clothes, it will get ruined
Andy Mo This right here is what you call small d**ck energy.
Hand washing clothes IS ANYTHING but lazy
I think this video was targeted for delicate clothes not ordinary clothes and that’s why she’s washing it gently.
It is. Some clothing like expensive dresses are delicate and can't be put in the wash. They have to be hand-washed in a sink or tub instead :3
Thank you! I was wondering what the hell she thinks she was doing. Consider she’s using her hands, and only swishing it around for under 2mins, she can be a bit more aggressive. I don’t think she washing anything, she looks like she’s playing with water
No shit
@@ObamaSexGaming2007 really? Clearly a lot of people didn’t think so which is why I put my two sense in. You obviously are going through something so I hope you feel better soon.

This is perfect for washing new clothes you want to keep mint for a while, or washing clothes from H&M which pretty much dissolve in the washer.
What kind of washer do you use? That never happened to my clothes
It also won't make your clothes as clean as the machine and costs a s--- ton of water.

dude my clothes never look dirty but they are because i've sweated in them, just because they look clean doesn't mean they are, and even if they were, it doesn't matter because this is for educational purposes and clearly for washing delicate clothes that say "HAND WASH" on the label.

I'm not even an expert, but I can already tell ya this wont clean your cloths effectively. Needs something more abrasive. You ain't getting those stains out with your hands alone, get a wash board, or at least some sort of scrubber.
I hand wash my clothes, not that I want to but have to, with a lot of elbow grease...otherwise its a locker room smell all day... and lots of air flow drying otherwise it turns to vinegar smell...
Basicly soak everything, rinske and dry lol i dont think thats gonna wash poopy pants

Thank you for posting this I was able to hand wash two of my very delicate items of clothing properly.
Well done: Sleepy Babie.
When I buy a shirt from cotton on and it says handwash only: alright time to search
People complaining about this do realize when you use a washing machine all it’s doing is this (swish clothes in soapy water) but much more aggressively. It’s meant for delicate clothes...
Also “This is a first world tutorial lol” uhhhh no duh. For one it’s by Better Homes & Gardens (first world magazine/company) and the lady is obviously in a more first world environment. What were y’all expecting?
Thanks for the video. I have this jacket that I had stitched patches and pockets too and for a while, I didn't wash it because I feared undoing my hard work. Your video is a lifesaver.
Battle Jacket eh? What bands you got on it?
If anyone’s ever used a front load washer before you’d realize, they do not agitate your clothes at all. The “scrubbing” if you can call it that is done by the tumbling motion going round and round, lifting clothes in and out of the water. How she’s washing her delicate/hand wash clothing is just fine and dandy

It all looks SO Gently done!!! Wasn’t expecting this-it’s not how it was done in ‘The old days’….before washing machines.
OMG! Thank you so much! I can't wait to start washing my delicate by hand. I accidentally washed a wool sweater in the washing machine. When I pulled it out, it was a size 1 for a 1 year old infant....LOL. I was shocked it shrank so much.. I could've made them into hand gloves.
Soak it in hair conditioner for 30 minutes. Rinse well. Re-stretch it. Let dry.
@@flynnmalin3036 Why hair conditioner and not detergent for delicate fabrics?
@@MargaritaMagdalena Hair conditioner relaxes the fibers, allowing them to be restretched after shrinkage. I would recommend hand washing delicates, over machine washing.
Dear Koy Pond: Thank you for giving us the classic prose of emphatic illustration. One must know how to feed a washing machine: Better to wash the delicates by hand, per instructions, anyway, and use discretion regarding the amount of time, system, and temperature for agitation (scrubbing).
@@flynnmalin3036 No way hair conditioner will get my wool sweater to fit me. It literally looks like it's made for a 2 year old after I accidentally washed it. It shrank beyond belief.

This is how I actually wash my clothes just dipping soaking and rinsing . Tho I don't waste that much amount of water and detergent... I thought I could learn to wash clothes properly from internet and really this will never get your clothes clean. I have been doing it and it's shitty way to wash clothes.
its kinda sad how many people need to watch this (including me)
I watch to see if there is a way to help avoid shrinkage for cotton clothes. Like using hot or cold water and taking the extra water with a towel extra.....this video did not mention the hot or cold but I guess the towel part was good enough.
People in the comment section really need more education and commonsense with the way they comment on ones video. Obviously it’s for hand wash only and new clothes not already worn clothes.
This is the most ineffective way to wash clothes. Nope not helpful at all.

Soap+water+agitation+rinse=clean clothes, whether washed by hand or on the line. This is not ineffective at all. It cleans clothes that are too delicate to throw in the washing machine.
So gentle...?!? You're washing clothes...dirty clothes that is. Not a baby.
Great tutorial. I mean, I'm sure it's great, I don't know of course, since UA-cam/Google decided to protect big companies from dislikes by removing the dislike bar, and then lied to our faces about it being "for the little creators" as if they did it from the good of their hearts.

Nowhere near enough detergent!! 😅
1/2 teaspoon of detergent
Title should be,
"How to hand-wash brand new cloths".
Why brand new clothes?
You shouldn’t wring you clothes out, you should scrunch them into a small ball until the water comes out. Sorry, but I don’t think this is a great way to wash your clothes
I’m wondering how to wash work/uniform clothes. They are much heavier and dense than the average tshirt and pant. Are there any specific instruction for ‘heavier’ clothes?
Let them soak longer, had to do this a lot living in an apartment
You didn't even mix the detergent like what the hell 😂
And she only uses like, a teaspoon
@@klav3664 But that's more than enough for just 3 or so items to hand wash. You use barely or around a cup of liquid detergent for a regular load of laundry.
Liquid detergent disperses just fine with the hand swishing. And yeah, you don’t need that much.
Very help full some things I prefer to wash by hands since I don’t have to wrestle my straps from the agitater
Life hack: get some mesh laundry bags (the shaped ones for bras) and you can get away with machine washing a lot of technically hand wash clothes. Do at your own risk though.

I believe this may need some adjustment, because what happens to the armpits that the deodorant may be stick on to the fabric. Idk 🤷♀️
Yeah still finding a way to wash my $140 Bape T-shirt without damaging the shit out of it
Wii Remote BROKEN if you’re that worried about it send it to the dry cleaners it’s between $1 to $5 for one shirt depending where you go.
To help get rid of deodorant in armpits is to add a little bit of oxyclean. I buy the $1 generic at dollar tree the awesome brand works great. Also add a little bit of dish detergent that helps as well good luck 🍀
Oxyclean is amazing stuff. Also, consider switching your deodorant. I did this on the recommendation of a complete stranger I was chatting to. She recommended Degree, but the kind that doesn't mark black or white clothes. I believe there are other brands that do the same. Have to make sure it's for black or white, because some still allow yellowing of armpits on white clothes.
Your using way too much deodorant smelly
I freaking twisted my clothes and stretched them out a bit
Ok
thanks lady, i'm way too lazy to go to the laundrette all the time
This was helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome!
I obviously don’t know proper way to handwash ofc since I have to search for this but damn, this still triggers me alot though :”)

Yes, think about that next time you use it for mashing potatoes or mixing cake batter. :)
U h I just needed this so I can play house with my sis :P sooo this video is fine for me since we are also cleaning clean clothes lol

Omg this is not washing, its just soaking in water only. You may as well just leave it in the sun as it is would be better
Sun drying ruins a lot of materials. Any graphic print or color that you really care about can be ruined by regular sun drying.
Her kitchen is so clean! Like wow there's zero clutter or mess from what i can see!
That's because she's not washing; she's dipping. 😒

Um yeah, I think this is for clothes made from delicate material, not regular clothes
I feel like doing a chore watching this :)
Huh? I like towel idea but now it needs to be washed probably.
I only blot with a towel to speed drying. It doesn't usually guarantee it's dry by morning, but in my dream world, it totally does. I hand-wash most of my clothes, and they last a long time.
That amount of detergent and such little time spent soaking will not clean your clothes well.
My abuelita in Mexico would be dissapointes what is this 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂

If they use the washing machine then your expensive “hand wash only” clothes would be ruined 🤦🏼♀️
why you making her wash by hand
You seen that movie "El Norte"?
learning to do this cause i’m in college my landlord makes us pay $6 per load when using the washing machine
It troubles me and has me wondering: as a uni student living in shared apartments, how do you wash hand wash garments or undergarments and dry them. Because, you live with another person which would be awkward doing these at their presence but these garments could not be done at the laundermat
You could get a hook up to the sink washing machine. They’re about $200, and you just hook it up to the sink
$6 per wash still sounds better than washing your shirts, pants, socks, underwear, bed linen, tea towels, beach towels and aprons by hand tbh.
You need at least 140°F to kill viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungi. Even a 100° machine wash won't kill them. The gross stuff will still be in your clothes AND will spread to other things. Like fecal bacteria from your underwear to your tea towels and pillow cases. I'd totally pay $6 per wash to actually get my stuff clean.
Today i got to know other uses of towels
Like spreading dirty wet clothes on them to dry. 😄
Who knew doing things the old-fashioned way could be so simple. As someone who's currently pinching pennies, and is quite unamused at the skyrocketing prices of laundromats (I've seen as high as $3 per wash cycle-back in my day it was a quarter, or 50 cents at most), I might just take up manual laundering.
Be gentle, don't wring ur clothes tooo mchh, it damages its fibre
You called that hand-washed?!,and that's the right way?!

my brown mother would disown me if I hand wash my towels like this smh
Okay whoever is watching this video please scroll to the comments section , this is not the correct way whatsoever to hand wash your clothes. The only thing you're causing is your clothes to become mildewed and soured.
Cold water
Add detergent per x amount of laundry
soak clothes (allow to sit 2 to 3 mins)
Pull clothes up and out of soap, strain, rinse in cold water. Repeat for fresher scent and tough deodorant stains/personal whatever.
After rinsing all clothes with cold water -strain. Strain all water out of clothes, ensure no water is dripping from clothes (damp clothes will not dry) hang out to dry ready in 4 to 6 hours. To speed up process if temperature outside is appropriate hang outside to dry, or place in front of indoor fan to speed up drying process. Also if you're a cheapskate like being a don't want to spend a full fifteen dollars at your local laundromat but just been 5 on the dry, this is a way to help save money too.
For the first time in my life, I had to wash my clothing by hand. September 26th,2020
Hand washing clothes can hurt your neck and arms. It’s keeps companies competing for your business.

Watching this video because I got scolded by my mom and not only do I have to buy my own meals, I have to do my own laundry too 😑
Ok, I guess I’ll try the comments section. When I wash laundry by hand and let it hang dry, every time it smells terrible when it’s done drying. I’ve tried using different detergents, dish soap, vinegar, baking soda, etc. I’ve also tried doing a little drying with a hair dryer, but none of that seems to help. I even have run into this problem when I have machine washed the clothes. To be fair, I can’t hang the clothes outside because of my HOA rules, and I don’t exactly have the ability to dry them with a towel because then I’d be stuck with a towel that needs to dry. I do have a drying rack for my clothes, and I live in a city with very low humidity. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem, and if so how did you solve it?
Girls usury smell. As a man I don't have that issue. I have the alluring smell of fresh leather.
@@GandalftheWise I’m not sure if you’re joking or not, but I have the exact same problem if I wash men’s laundry and try to air dry it. I’ve done some additional research, and while I still done have a solution yet it sounds like the source of the problem has something to do with the detergent not washing out completely for some reason.
I’m not is this will help. But here you go. Ensure clothes are not damp before putting them on the rack. Try to space out the clothes on the rack not too close together. Place rack near a window better if you can open the window. I dry all my clothes indoor. Never had an odour issue. 😊
@@minimalisticjoy628 I wasn’t aware of the damp thing. Just out of curiosity, how do you ensure clothes are not damp before putting them on the rack? Is there some kind of pre-drying ritual I should be doing?
Didn’t know white peoples did this too 🤔😂
I always wash my clothes by hand using cold water
I don't think that'll get them clean.
I will never forget the first time i just got to urge to handwash my bra. Idk why but it felt like it was just dirty to me for some reason. That water turned black 🤢 and no i was machine washing my bra before. I guess maybe the machine isn't always as thorough as i thought?
Well i would do this but i work in dirt all day as my job. Dont think this would help me much. Would cut out the laundry trip evwry sunday but would not just he possible for any one in the field of yard work or construction. If your job is to play in the dirt 😊
I'm a stretch monster. Because of my ocd I have destroyed countless no of clothing by washing it manually👿😭
Okay, but now what do you do with the wet used towel?
Oh God!!! That HORRIBLE music again!!
Who's here because they usually send their clothes to the laundry shop? 😂
I wouldn't say this is the right way to wash. The clothes are barely being washed. Is thishow American's hand wash?

Lol when this video started I thought it was another add
how many dry big towels do u need?u would be busy washing all day long. soaking, let soaking for 15mins,washing,drying with big towels, washing the towels
Honestly, for a shirt, i lay the wet garment down lengthwise and then wrap a wet chamois or two around the shirt, squeeze and even give it a little twist until you see water peak through the chamois, unwrap, wring out the chamois, wrap and squeeze until you don't see any more water, then hang to dry. I use a chamois becuase they are great for drying off a car, so why not a shirt? Certainly gives your hands and wrists a workout.

How to hand wash THE RIGHT WAY.
What. Is everyone washing clothes NOT the right way? Should i trust 1 person or the 7 billion people?
My stupid roomates broke to washer so here I am.
I suppose I really shouldn't be using my dish soap.
Not enough hand action there. The soapy water has to be pushed through the fibres to clean them. Just lightly swishing them around in the soapy water does nothing to clean them.
Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing lol
without soap
thank you so much this is great! :D
Wrong.
