Whip it Whip it Good! You must be a DEVO fan! You have to be an old guy to remember those guys. Also, it's about the time Bob came up with the fly. I have been tying the fly for a long time. It's an easy fly to tie but is a tough one to get it just right. It's a fly where less is more. The sparser the better. I like the way you tied the fly. You pretty much do the same thing but with a diamond braid. Next to the surf candy, it's my favorite stripper bass fly. I also tie them in trout sizes. I've gotten bailed out more than once on the trout stream over the years. I am going to add this one to my box for sure.
This is a great tutorial for learning techniques which is only made better by the powerful red beard in the background! Keep up the great work on your videos! Clousers catch EVERYTHING!
Cool version of the tie. I like that you started the white behind the eyes. Any particular reason? I've always wondered why it isn't done this way originally.
I think it makes for a more durable fly; the exposed and unsupported bucktail on the OG clouser always seemed like a weak point to me. The OG clouser has also caught millions of fish, so take that as you will!

I love the braid, started using it on my own. Great fly, my first choice up here in the NE.

I've caught all sorts of fish on the clouser! Salmon, trout, bass, barracuda, even a permit! It's one of the best baitfish flies
WHY do you think you need music in your video????? Very Disturbing!!!!!!!!
Hey Gene! There's a button that allows you to mute the video if the music isn't to your taste. Thanks for watching!
