I think there was a psychological conflict within Melvin during this fight, the bizarre movements and delaying pacing of Ryo seemed to have unsettled him
Really dont understand about the style. His stance was so far, even beyond his own reach. The head movement was very active but only when not in contact, looks like just for show. To me, it shows a lot of doubt. The KO sequence show it all, he was in doubt whether wants to shoot or not, and ended up offering his head to Manhoef.
@Ryan Anderson yeah, cause now apparently I need to be a 3rd degree BJJ black belt & golden gloves boxing champion to tell when a fighter has a Unique style 🤦🏽♂️
That style would be more effective if he could transfer from the drunken style to conventional style throughout the fight. If you wanna see a better way to do it look up Emmanuel Augustus boxer
Ryo Kawamura has an amazing style, completely unorthodox which allows you to strike while your opponent is essentially mesmerized, also your opponent cant telegraph your movements and will not be able to anticipate your next attack. Of course Manhoef is literally one of the best fighters of his era so he negated it with pure talent.
Nah he "negated" it by realizing he was doing the exact same move he just did a minute earlier and wasn't protecting himself whatsoever. The fact that you think this "style" is amazing shows how little you know about mma. This guy is a clown
lmfao uh, no. Nothing amazing about his style, and his record shows as much. Ryo is 18-10-4 overall, with his wins coming over cans while his losses came to anyone who was *actually* a decent fighter. Dude was not a good fighter in the slightest, nor did he have “pure talent”. He was as average as they come.
That makes no sense, because one guy is nervous to engage ,less money? As a fighter ,thats totally unfair. As a fan, why would you care you wanna see them get KO'd. These are two humans fighting , not playing basketball, there are serious consequences in combat sports
“Drunken jutsu is totally a viable martial art.”
Melvin Mannhoef: “NO.”
Dude won the annoyance award. I know Bruce Lee said *be like water* but this was too much.

Melvin got mad , mad him a lil hasty, but turned out well in the end , great fight
He's soften his body to prepare to hit the canvas.. what a fighter.
Was Ryo trying to win by annoying Manhoef to death with that obnoxious fighting style?
Nice profile pic
@@MrPokesmot32 hell yes
ONE has some... Unique fighters lol

Knocked him out, then he woke up, then he knocked him out again 🤣
Japanese guy feel like he is on anime until reality hit his face
He was supposedly performing the drunken monk stance but still impractical here
I think the style is viable but it takes a master to pull it off
need to watch melvin's fights in half playback speed to see what he's doing
Next : Melvin Manhoef vs Alain Ngalani
Make it happen please
That style is very effective just the way he was using was a little off but I see how good that style is
Yea on some in-depth stuff, he just wasn’t loose enough and was thinking to much
@@artsofallstar he had him completely confused and could've knocked him out that's a genius style to develop if he mastered it
@@tsam3676 facts bro ✊🏾
bless both fighters❤️🙏
Ryo dance good🎉
El segundo golpe lo despertó para que vea lo que estaba pasando. Qué buen tipo es Manhoef
Не нравится мне, когда всё так быстро и не видны детали.
Где замедленный повтор нокаута?! :-)))))
@5:07 that one punch is satisfying :D
melvin's age is 42 old.. he is awsome guy 👍👍👍
44 lol
Yeah but only 34 then. That was 2012
This man learned his style from a wacky inflatable tube man 😂

Damn the Japanese guy got knocked out twice 😂 look at the last replay 😂😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭

i don’t understand the hate towards this guy, he was just setting up for a ridiculous crossover
At least it was entertaining;)
early stoppage. should let at least two more punches
When Miesha Tate says click it, I click it
Damn what a knockout
Its the kind of fight you see in the Yakuza franchise 😂
It was only a matter of time

Problem was he was too deep in to stop
Too bad the ref stepped in so quick

Stfu there's no tact to what Ryo is doing. It may throw someone off for a round or two, but it's in no way a good fighting style.

Jajajajajajaja good job melvin
At the start there is no action, it was so boring,. The management should pay them less

THATBROMAN plus it’s their fight. Not the fans fight. They don’t fight for fans (most of the time). They are fighting for their own benefit
How was that boring, sure not too much contact but there was such good dodges. Probably its human nature to want more aggression.
