Where did you tell iphone to convert the HEIF to JPG when you pasted the image into the JPG folder. When I did that it pasted the image as a HEIF image.
Thanks for making the process super easy to follow. Finally a person that actually explains how to convert instead of changing setting on your iPhone to save all as JPEG.
Thank you SO much for this video. I needed to convert photos so my husband could use them on his PC. I appreciate your clear and informative description of how to do this easily. I'm going to check out some of your other videos.
You're the man...worked like a charm. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER APPS... This is the "no hassle, no bs, 100% true way" Thank you very much. Liked and subscribed. Blessings good sir!
This was super helpful, I do appreciate it. The other options were to download some app or to convert through e-mail. There is always a solution and I found it, thanks to you.
Great video. Once I have my photos in the File folder, how do I move MULTIPLE photos back to Photos instead of just the one photo you moved in the video? Thank you!!!
Thanks for this 'workaround'. The nightmare I have is a computer on High Sierra and when I updated my iphone it changed the photos setting to HEIC, first I knew about it was when I tried to download the pics onto my mac using image capture and it refused to do it. All the workrounds on youtube I've found so far totally ignore this problem. They only give a conversion to jpg solution if you can get your heic pic onto the desktop - impossible on a mac on High Sierra (still used as otherwise I have to buy a new printer and scanner). Your workaround gives a partial solution - thanks, but there re two things you lose doing this - original photo name and date which are useful keeping files in order. Any ideas on this very welcome.
Best Video regarding this topic. On point, easy, no 3rd party Apps required. Perfect!! Thank you so much!! The only thing I still cant figure out, is weather I should actually keep on making HEIF pictures (is it worth the hassle?) or if I should just stay with compatibility JPEG mode?!
@@pixelandbracket That might be the easiest way to ensure compatibility, but I see HEIC files to become the near future as JPG was last updated in 1994 and is therefore pretty old. That alone wouldn't matter, but HEIC format can store more data, has better light and contrast and even saves a ton of space. That's why I'm thinking about making the change now, figure out how to best convert images in case I need them where HEIC is not yet supported and start to adapt.
Thank you so much! This was so easy and helpful! I use my phone to take photos for work occasionally and good lord all of the apps and “free converters” are so stressful and rarely work. Saving this video for future use
Your videos are so helpful and to the point, I appreciate it! I needed to post pics and they were in HEIF format, they told me I needed it in JPG format. I didn't know how to convert them, but luckily I came up on your videos and you helped me out of a jam. You are a Life Saver! Thank you so much! I'm definitely subscribing to your channel.
Thanks for this video that has helped me fix an unknown issue on a newly purchased iPhone 11. I have now converted about 600 files out of a total of about 3000 all from a single trip & taken in HEIC format unfortunately. When I now continue to select files to copy if it is more than about 10 there is no "copy photos" message & instead I see "add to shared album" & "Add to Album" . If I remove some of he photos to copy the "copy Photos" message is available. Early in the conversion I was able to copy over 100 photo files at a time. Do you have any thoughts on why this quantity to copy is reduced & I loose the "copy photos" message with more photo files selected. This current situation is very painful. Regards
What's the limit for how many you can copy paste? It looks like apple jumps to save to files and doesnt' convert if you select copy multiple HEIC files.
Great video - I was tired of sending my images to my Mac - then having to one at a time make a copy - then save that copy as a jpeg. More importantly do what he says at the end and just turn off the feature. (nobody ever asks for a HEIC image!)
Ok so I am not the best at tech...so I had to stop and start it a bunch of times only so i could catch up...However I would say you did an awesome job in going step by step...Heck it worked for me so pretty certain it can work for anyone! Thanks a bunch! Did an awesome job!
Hi, SO Iphone 14 does not work like this when I try. Files does not show and copy and paste in a new photo album will paste as HEIC again. Any help? thank you
Quick and easy, but the copy/paste method to a folder doesn't carry over any individual file names, if there are any. It just numbers the conversions. For that you need a conversion app.
Great video, however, When I placed the HEIC photo in the file folder, it did not automatically convert it to JPEG. It appears in the video that just copying and pasting it into the file folder will trigger a conversion. I had to convert it manually. Did I miss something?

I have a iphone 13 version 17.2.1 ... I like your video ... except, there is no "copy photos" in the share icon .... what can I do ?
Dude, you absolutely nailed it. I watched other videos and read online guides, none were nearly as clear as your video. Nice work, thanks!
Dude! This is way better than looking for an online converter. Super helpful thanks so much!

Brilliant video. I was just on the point of dowloading a converter programme - more bloatware - when I found your videos. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for making this video. It was clear and concise for someone who is just learning all aspects of an Iphone.
Great video. Dont have the copy photo option. Any suggestions?
This was an excellent tutorial. Is there an easy way to delete all my heic photos after I've converted them to jpg photos?

Great video. Once I have my photos in the File folder, how do I move MULTIPLE photos back to Photos instead of just the one photo you moved in the video? Thank you!!!
Any help on how to move multiple converted photos back into your photos album without moving each photo individually? Thanks!
Thank you so much for being clear and concise. I was so happy to finally call my son and tell him I did something without his help!!:)
Great video. What do you do for converting from PNG to JPG? This process didn't work. :(

I didn’t even need to know this but needed to comment that your videos are very well made. Good work!

I was really happy that i found your video... long time troubles came into end. Thank you

I use JPEG, and tell everyone I work with to do the same

Storage space constantly increases so I stick with most compatible, time is worth more to me 🤷🏻♂️

Does this method of HEIC-to-jpg conversion preserve the metadata, including GPS coordinates?
No I don't think it does
Simple, easy, straight to the point and without using other apps. Thank you so much, God bless man.
Awesome job explaining how to do this. You’ve got a NEW Subscriber.

I already transferred pics to my laptop, can I change files format on my laptop?
Does doing this also preserve the data such as the date and location?
