Interestingly enough though, F-Zero went from Nintendo to SEGA for one game (two if you count the AX Arcade version) and I actually think GX is the best one of the F-Zero games I've played. If SEGA were to keep the F-Zero series alive, I don't think I'd mind. I think it would have been important to mention how certain people from Bungie and Hudsonsoft actually left their respective studios to work for 343 and NDcube. I’m pretty sure Crash Bandicoot must have some sort of world record for number of developers. The first four games were done by Naughty Dog, after which they left the series to start Jak and Daxter. Then, Eurocom took over to make Crash Bash, then Traveller’s Tales (the ones who make all the LEGO games) created The Wrath of Cortex. While this was happening, Vicarious Visions made three handheld GBA games, as well as Crash Nitro Kart for both consoles and handheld. Then, Traveller’s Tales Oxford was created specifically to handle the Crash franchise, and the only game they made was Twinsanity. After this, Radical Entertainment took the reigns and made three more games; one built off of the engine for Simpsons Hit & Run, the other two were those mutant games that everyone hated. Handheld versions were also made by SuperVillain Studios, Amaze Entertainment, TOSE, and Virtuous. Oh, and can’t forget the DS party game by DiMPS. Years later, although the N Sane Trilogy was handled by the aforementioned Vicarious Visions, the remake for Crash Team Racing was done by Beenox, and most recently, Crash Bandicoot 4 was done by Toys For Bob. That doesn’t even mention studios that assisted development, like Activision Shanghai.
I'm surprised there was nothing for DOA. The series was finally starting to be accepted with DOA4, then Itagaki left and Tecmo realized that DLC existed.

As someone who played the Sly trilogy and loved them, I really like Sly 4. I found personally found the game just as much fun as the original trilogy. I just wish the load times and story were a lot better.
When i was a kid i played the first 3 to death, probably more than 300 hours clocked in. I preordered thieves in time, beat it and never touched it again. I enjoyed it, but not enough to warrant more time to be spent with it. Still worth the money tho.
I'm the same. I grew up with the Sly trilogy and admittedly fell in love with the 4th game when it was released - I especally loved being able to switch game saves from the PS3 and Vita. But yeah, the load times were painful and the story's 'twist' didn't mesh with me or the fanbase as a whole. ...leaving it on a cliffhanger didn't help either.
@@amala1333 Same. Grew up with 2 and 3 (as a Kid I were never able to beat 1 ... I waited years and years for Thieves in Time. There was such a long wait between Sly 3 and Sly 4. I have never been more excited for a game to come out. I also have never been more disappointed in my life.
@10:19 I love the entire series. It has always amused me that everyone complained about the time limits, 2 came out, everyone complained about the time limits, 3 came out everyone started complaining the time limits were too lax, 4 came out and everyone started to complain there was no time limits... >.< I always personally loved the mission time limit mechanics in the first game... shame the games controls needed a bit of refining, even for when it was released. But that time limit meant you had to plan ahead for what you wanted each particular run to be about. Was this run going to be the story run, where you get the proper ending? Or is it going to be the run you try to save as many survivors as you possibly can? Or maybe it's your exploration run!
6:04 I really liked Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. I thought it was sick. Sly Cooper is one of those characters that I stole some of my personality from.
Sly is an iconic Playstation character, but he's not giving as much attention as Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet and Clank or Spyro The Dragon... which is sad; I really like Sly Cooper.
I'd like to mention Kingdom Hearts as a game series that changed development teams from Square's Tokyo Team to Osaka Team. The games after Kingdom Hearts 2 have floaty controls.
Floaty controls and making you way too overpowered at the very beginning of the game while never really ramping up the challenge from there. 3 had it the worst, and Critical doesn't count since it wasn't available at launch despite being a series standard for years.
Tokyo team doesn't actually exist and I'm pretty sure kh2 and bbs have similar teams as they have the poor balance and bland level design and are both from square enix.
Yes! I have been validated he talked extensively about Luigi's Mansion! I have always wanted him to say that since I started binging his channel yesterday.
Fallout 4 is not a bad game, is just mediocre as hell, in fact, Fallout 3 was as mediocre, and that would be fine, if New Vegas wasn't a thing. That's when you realize just how bad both 3 and 4 are in comparison to New Vegas in almost every way.
The Trashmann yeah to me at least fallout is the most iconic developer change, seeing how fallout is basically dead, and since 3 it was on its last legs but 76 killed the series, for the foreseeable future.

Halo 3 ODST and Reach were pretty good prequels. ODST was very much connected to 3 and added a lot that made things better. Reach was a hit and miss, some things were starting to show how it’s going down but it was the last “real” halo we got, I personally loved the story and legit got the halo reach Xbox 360 and the collector version of reach because it’s story was great and you got attached to the team that one by one dies by the end of the story. I was so sad when each character died
Hey all: One of those Luigi's Mansion die-hards here! I love the first and 3rd with all my heart, and dark moon was just ok... I wish they would have held on to those first ghosts style though.
I'm currently playing through Dark Moon for the first time, and really don't understand the complaints. It's an excellent game with solid mechanics and a fun gameplay loop. It plays out very differently from the first, you repeat levels at will to find boos you missed and you add to your money total each time, which helps upgrade your vacuum. So it makes sens to have most of the ghosts be more generic enemy types rather than the unique ghosts of the first game, which I believe are just caught once and that's that, hard progress. Like, I feel like I could play through the original in a day easily, but there's no way Dark Moon would be over that fast, it's just a way bigger game with the multiple mansions, etc. They're really very different games, I think it's more accurate to say it depends on your taste, not that Dark Moon is a bad game in any way, as this implies.
eh...I feel overall each installment just got better and better with some different flaws for each game. dark moon gameplay wise and length wise was a big improvement I felt

It just hit me that this, like quite a few other videos, has been made hilarious in hindsight with the announcement of Metroid Dread. Nintendo's all but completely handed over 2D Metroid to Mercury Steam and it looks like a massive improvement. Can't improve perfection... but seems like they will anyway.
About Sly 4: -Most of the character redesigns were passable I guess, but they made Carmelita look like an uncanny DeviantArt wet dream. -The writing and character development in the first three games was insanely good for a 3D platformer series. The writing in 4 feels like a bad Saturday morning cartoon. The personalities were made flat as a pancake, especially Carmelita, who went from being a dedicated but conflicted cop to a token girlfriend. -Nothing truly new was done with the gameplay. -The 2D cutscenes went from bold, comic book-inspired art to, once again, generic Saturday morning cartoon. -The story ended on a cliffhanger that left no impact because the entire story had been too weak to build any investment.
Not to mentioned that instead of an epic final battle that puts all of the skills you've learned throughout the game to the test, you get a glorified QTE.
@@cortomaltese5206 Honestly, it actually didn't feel like Sly Cooper to me. The characters were floatier, and the intuitive landmark-based level design was gone, making it much easier to lose your bearings and get lost.
On the subject of Deadrising, Capcom vancouver did a great job with two as it expanded the gameplay of 1 in a great way that didn't feel too far away from the original, and the tone of the games story and writing was the same making it just as fun as deadrising 1 in my opinion. However 3 made it dark and gritty and it just didn't feel the same while still being a fine game. The less said about 4 the better

@10:19 I love the entire series. It has always amused me that everyone complained about the time limits, 2 came out, everyone complained about the time limits, 3 came out everyone started complaining the time limits were too lax, 4 came out and everyone started to complain there was no time limits... >.<
I always personally loved the mission time limit mechanics in the first game... shame the games controls needed a bit of refining, even for when it was released. But that time limit meant you had to plan ahead for what you wanted each particular run to be about.
Was this run going to be the story run, where you get the proper ending? Or is it going to be the run you try to save as many survivors as you possibly can? Or maybe it's your exploration run!
I have never heard anybody in the community complain about the time limits in the first 2 games. Especially not DR2. What are you on about?

I'd like to mention Kingdom Hearts as a game series that changed development teams from Square's Tokyo Team to Osaka Team. The games after Kingdom Hearts 2 have floaty controls.
Floaty controls and making you way too overpowered at the very beginning of the game while never really ramping up the challenge from there. 3 had it the worst, and Critical doesn't count since it wasn't available at launch despite being a series standard for years.

Remember when Bethesda gave Fallout to Obsidian and made the masterpiece New Vegas then took it back and Fallout 4 got released and OH GOD FALLOUT 76

Hey all: One of those Luigi's Mansion die-hards here!
I love the first and 3rd with all my heart, and dark moon was just ok... I wish they would have held on to those first ghosts style though.
I think the series has only improved with each new game
Dark Moon was way more enjoyable for me than 3 was
I'm currently playing through Dark Moon for the first time, and really don't understand the complaints.
Jotaro Kujo smash bros
eh...I feel overall each installment just got better and better with some different flaws for each game. dark moon gameplay wise and length wise was a big improvement I felt

Nintendo's all but completely handed over 2D Metroid to Mercury Steam and it looks like a massive improvement. Can't improve perfection... but seems like they will anyway.
About Sly 4:
-Most of the character redesigns were passable I guess, but they made Carmelita look like an uncanny DeviantArt wet dream.
