Cars and Bids is so brilliant. I can see many more UA-camrs using this platform to advertise their latest cars for sale. Doug has created something truly special
Doug DeMuro is going to have his own internet empire. Yes he is quite goofy in his personality and his choice of clothing but he is very very smart in the UA-cam computer tech world. I give him credit because I've been watching his videos since the beginning and he has built his 2 channels and now his car auction website from nothing into a huge money maker and he will only get bigger once Cars and Bids grows which it will.
Yeah there was a few things this guy said he obviously doesn't know the difference from his asshole to the hole in the ground. And the 6.7 might not be as reliable as the 7.3 but it's not far off.
I have a 96 7.3 PSD. It’s got a built trans, a nice exhaust, and a 4” lift on 35’s. It’s like the passage of time, or a valley being born from a small winding river. A strong redwood cemented through millennia by its roots. What I’m saying is that it’s slow. Really slow. But I love it.
I would take the 7.3 Liter every day and twice on Sunday over anything newer. And I LOVE the sound of the old 7.3s! Simple, reliable, rock solid. Gimme.
All we used until three years ago was 7.3’s and they pulled anything we hooked up to. We tried a duramax. And it did okay. Pulled well but that’s about it. We traded it in before 100000 kms. And we now have a 6.7 powerstroke and it hasn’t had any problems yet. And one thing I hate when people say Is “you need horsepower to pull” you don’t! Unless you don’t know how to pull a load. And yes they are basic but you know what it gets the work done and looks so good doing it
Jason Voorhees 7.3 was great but the 6.0 and 6.4 were pure shit even at a basic long block level and both 100% International Navistar engines. 6.7 is the best medium duty diesel ever made once deleted, 100% Ford design. Seems like Ford should have been designing and building their own diesels the day they retired the 7.3.
@@asdasd-ni8eg the 7.3 was built for Ford by Navistar International....formerly International Harvester. It wasn't a derivative, we designed and manufactured it and sold it to Ford.
From what I understand the consensus is the 6.7s are fairly reliable, even the emissions systems work decently compared to previous models. Its no 7.3 of course, but much much better than the 6.0 and 6.4.
I own a 2003 Ford F-250 7.3 Crew Cab 4x4, 59,000 miles(all original-white color-tan leather & always garaged) purchased new 12/92. I went to buy new engine 6.0 diesel but dealer told me the new 6.0 engine had issues and they extended the 7.3 due to the 6.0 engine issues. Purchased 7.3 and who new right? No engine issues ever but the truck eats tires 3rd set. I bought @ $7600 off sticker. Still have all docs too. My new Nextdoor came over and looked at my truck and he got so excited I thought he was going to faint and he told me to name my price and I told him no because I promised the truck to my son in law! Truck is a beast as the truck will lay a tire scratch with little effort. Looks like the day I bought brand new.
I’ve had my ‘97 E350 7.3 van for 2+ years, bought it for $1,800. I’ve put considerably more in for repairs, but none engine related! At 350,600 miles, the engine is rock solid. And it hasn’t had a proper oil change the entire time I’ve had it. But that is on the agenda!
I worked in engineering on the 7.3 when the govt announced the coming emissions standards for diesels. We were able to meet the requirements using something called "Ultra Low Sulfer" diesel. Maybe it isn't available now or maybe standards have gotten even tighter. Just wondering why they haven't come out with something better.
Yeah really makes no sense let's burn more fuel and add shit to it out of plastic jugs just to get rid of nox emissions it's retarded but the epa isn't known for intelligence
Hoovie didn't even let jrgo drive the 7.3. and he was hating on his truck like the whole time I kinda feel sorry for him. Showing up to just get crapped on for a day 😂
Super annoying how he is disrespectful to his friend. Is it because he doesn't have as many subs as him? Trys to put down the new truck just because it isn't his and talks up his garbage so he can get a higher bid for it. His personality is off-putting and Ill be unsubscribing.

Modern ford's aren't junk lol. The 6.7 is still extremely reliable, and most of ford's products now, with the exception of the focus and Fiesta dcts are pretty rock solid.
Try upgrading the 7.3 to the 475hp and 1000+ torques or whateva they're putting out now and see how poorly it holds up, oh and replace the trans while youre at it as it'll blow in a few thousand miles. When you consider how much more capable these new trucks are, quite, cleaner (supposedly), add the aluminum body and all the new available features and the refinement (better ride and handling for example) the reliability is pretty damn solid. The prices when you take all that into consideration along with inflation arent as bad as people make it seem either.
@@shanet7511 That's what I'm saying, glad to see someone else who has common sense. Modern cars are expensive, but that's because they're just better. More powerful, reliable, safe, efficient and advanced to name a few improvements. The only real downside with modern cars is they're harder to repair, but they break way less so it'd a trade off I'm willing to accept.
@@shanet7511 The 6.7 is an absolute beast, that, the 3.5 ecoboost and 3.5 duratec, 5.0, 5.2 and 2.7 are all great engines. If we are being honest most modern cars last a long time with basic repairs. My neighbor has a Dodge Caravan from 2010 and has 270K on it and everyone shits on dodge for bad engines and transmissions. And my Chrysler 200 is on 130K with no major problems so far. Agreed. At 400k miles is shifting hard on colder days, but honestly I'm impressed it's made it this far. I've never had a Ford with an automatic last this long. Changed my mind on powerstrokes 👍. Will for sure get another one.

The 6.0 is great once bulletproofed with head studs and EGR removal and then a nice tune makes it a beast. The bottom ends are quite stout 👍 I’ve had a ‘04 F350 and it has been awfully reliable. Lariat with leather and all the power features here but massaging seats and silly power step and 360degree nannie cam for a mere $48,000 in 2004 and it’s still worth half that because it’s cared for and clean and without a gazillion miles on it..
I have been a GM man, ALL my life. I needed a “tow-pig” for my 32’ camper, bought an 08 Dodge Ram 2500 Heavy Duty, with the 5.7 L Hemi... GOOD TRUCK! I would have never THOUGHT about a Ford... until I seen this 01 F-350 dually, super duty, crew cab, with the 7.3L diesel. Traded my motorcycle and some cash, BEST work horse I EVER owned! I have always wanted a 7.3L Excursion 4WD. My truck is 2wd. I’ve been stuck on wet grass! Never again will I own a 2wd truck.
My parents had a 2002 with the V10. They bought it right when gas prices soared. Oops. I learned how to drive in that monster. Unfortunately we were plagued with the spark plugs blowing out because of the defective heads. It did make it to 178k miles before my parents scrapped it. Shame as the body was in great shape considering we live in the Northeast.

Have a Triton V10 Excursion with almost 400k miles. Same engine, same transmission and best car we have ever owned. Bought it with 27,000 second owner. I really hope they are really bring back the Excursion......
I bought an F250, XLT, 7.3 in 1997. In 2020 it has 117K miles on it, and never has had any corrective maintenance required. Just normal servicing. The 7.3 was most reliable diesel ever produced that I know of. think the International 7.3 dump truck engine was the best idea Ford ever had.
snsproduc it’s somewhat worth it. The diesel variants of these cars are crazy nice. I’d pay 10-12.5k. There was an accident on file and slight rust. It’s a great car in pretty good shape, I just can’t justify spending 15 on this one, especially as a college student. I live in the south and 15 can get me a pretty similar excursion but with some upgrades.
Bryson Kuhn agreed. My friend literally just bought an 05, has the 6.0 but was bulletproofed by literally the best diesel shop in the owners state with good parts, on 37s with an 8inch lift, gun safe, sound system/head unit, etc. only 100k miles. That was around 25 but worth every penny imo. Badass truck, black on black.
Man I drive a 2019 power stroke it has 110,000 + miles and has over 5200 engine hours the front end is still tight trans shifts good and has held up very well been super impressed with the 6.7
That is notable about the front end. A 4x4 7.3 usually wears the ball joints and everything else on the front end out in the 1st 75k. Ask me how I know....
We have a 2016 6.7 in a bus with 350,000 miles. The biggest issues we've had; 2 turbos have went bad. One at 200k, then at 275k Had to reseal vacuum pump (bolts get loose on it) and oil filter housing. Thermostats started to break apart and stick open around 320k Accessory pulleys, main water pump, and tensioner done around 250k 2 constant codes, Bank 1 lean, SCR conversion effeciency Transmission still going great, and overall not bad reliability other than the turbos going a little earlier than normal.
I’d take the 7.3 Excursion, he can keep that “Check Engine light”,”DPF”, and that “Complete sliding moon/sunroof” .. The Excursion is probably structurally stronger without that sun/moonroof
The Excursion has a c-channel frame with about 60% steal mixed with other alloys to allow a better more flexible frame for easy driving the 6.7L has a 99% steel frame fully boxed. The new more advanced suspension allows for a smooth ride from a stiff frame. The 6.7L is structurally superior.
I had a dpf go on on a Ford. It caused so many other problems, it spent weeks in the garage and a huge bill. Sold it and bought a petrol Honda. Life is now good 👍never again
Big emblem is for the adaptive Radar Cruise Control, that’s why you see the big plastiglass Toyota, Lexus, Honda, etc emblems, there’s a lil radar behind there
If raise the Excursion, you cannot get it in the garage. Now that you have this beautiful Excursion be sure to install an oil bypass filter, you will be amazed at how clean your oil will be. Installed mine 15 years ago, change the oil regularly and when I check the oil the, we can still see the dipstick through the oil. Just Keeps the oil cleaner. 11-9-21. 👍👍👍.
My old 7.3 is close to 300k. It's pulled a fifth wheel to every state in the US and all of Canada, hauled metal, block and lumber. The doors don't close right, the paints coming off and the leather seats are all cracked but she still runs like a top.

both are junk but ford is on another level. at least here in brazil. the only half-decent thing they have is the ranger, and maybe the fusion, but i wouldn't ever buy one precisely because it's a fucking ford. can't deal with ford's bs. worst car company ever. right up there with fiat

I drive a 2000 Ford Excursion XLT in gold, the wax I like to use for it mothers California gold really makes the gold on my truck shinny, reflective and protected.
Y’alls chemistry is great. Would love to see more John Ross and hoovie debates!
