    Oh, goodness! Nice vid...I am using the line tool and rotation copy tool in Photoshop cc...which is very nice, but I seem to have problems when trying to cut out just one segment from my picture...oh well!

      @@HelenBradley Quick q. I have a circle. I need a triangle out of the circle that is 1/6 of circle...the circle division for the cut out is 360/6.....so I need a circle design in a file that has a photo visual, ( I already made the circle shape from the photo), that I can cut out ONLY one of those triangle sized shape. How do I do a fill shape to show the part I want the printers to cut out? The top disk will turn, to see the information under it (the circle that will sit under this new circle was divided into 6 sections with text and visuals on it.:) The top circle will be used on a set that will turn so you only see that triangle section of text at a time. Sorry, security won't let me show you the file. :) Having a hard time getting this to work...sorry:( File is in photoshop cc currently. Your video above is very complicated for me just now...LOL Do you have a much simpler video with just one shape to do? This video is massive for beginners..:)

      Ok, I get the security thing, but can you draw the design for me and send me a photo of your hand drawing. With that I should be able to get you the answer. I 'think' I know what you want - a circle with a 1/6 triangle out of it so that when it is fixed to a card with a pin it can be spun around and what is under the 1/6 hole will show through the hole and the other 5/6 will be covered by the circle. Trouble is that, in my example, it won't be a 1/6 triangle it will need to be rounded and a bit cut off on the pointy end so it can be affixed to something... but, as I said, a hand drawing would be easier to work from! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but at the stepp on the marque tool to draw a line its not working for me.

      Hmm, I am not sure what is happening. You need to select the tool and then click in the document to select the line one pixel deep. Perhaps try zooming in so you can see the screen more clearly? I am sorry that I can't be of more help.

    The magic wand tool isn't picking up all of the lines, assuming because they're too small. Any tips?

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  2 роки тому

      It has a Tolerance setting (on the control bar at the top of the screen). If you increase that value then it will pick up more pixels. Did you try that?

      @@HelenBradley I did. Unfortunately it didn't work. But I did see that somehow one of the layers duplicated itself somehow and I deleted that extra layer and that seemed to help. Thank you for this amazing video!

      Are you selecting the correct layer?

    How do you get the marquee tool to make a line? Whenever I hit alt + backspace the marquee just disappears.

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  5 років тому

      Collette - are you using a PC? or a Mac? The Alt + Backspace key combination should fill the selection with the current foreground color. So, if that isn't working for you, do the step where you click with the Single Row Marquee tool, then, instead, choose Edit > Fill and select Black from the Contents dropdown list and click ok - you'll be good to go.
      Let me know if you still have issues?

    Hi, May i know what is the shortcut you mentioned at video 6:22min, where you combine the different lines into 1 layer? ctrl + alt + shift + A???

    I had a little difficult understanding your accent. When you said ctrl+shift+alt+E, I thought you said ctrl+shift+alt+A.

    • @HelenBradley
      @HelenBradley  6 років тому +1

      Sorry about that, it is ctrl+shift+alt+E.
