Thank you so much, I found a different video and was struggling, but yours was much easier and had clearer instructions.
OMG, thank you. I am at the beginner level for trying to create senior sports banners for high school athletes. Everyone else is so secretive about their tutorials and leave out key pieces. They also only show advanced level stuff. Thanks so much.
My absolute favourite tut of yours. Because I'm old I have to watch it everytime I need to do a shape...A great thing I also learnt to do was to make my own shape files which your viewers may like to do too. Thank you
Thank you SO much!! Now. I need to look for a tutorial for placing a photo in a "blank frame" on a "room view" for marketing!!

Steve, re my earlier comments from a couple weeks ago ... are there performance preferences in PS I may have selected that is preventing the insertion of an image into a shape? Just a thought. If so, what might they be? My drivers are all current, so I don't think that may be an issue. Please advise. Thank you.
Hi Frank. I can't think of any settings in Photoshop that would prevent you from placing an image into a shape. And unfortunately, it's tough for me to figure out an issue like this without actually being there and seeing it. Would it be possible for you to take a screenshot of your Layers panel so I can see what's going on?
@@PhotoshopEssentialsChannel Steve, I would be happy to, but can't see where I can send you a screenshot directly so you can see what I'm doing. I have two snipets on my computer which I can forward. How do I send them to you? Thanks.
The easiest way would be to send me a message using the Contact form on my website. I'll email you a reply and then you can email me back with the screenshot. Here's a link to the Contact form: www.photoshopessentials.com/contact/
@@PhotoshopEssentialsChannel Thank you, Steve. I just sent it. Much appreciate your help.
Steve, need some help please. I have created a new document, and placed a background image at 55% opacity. From there I want to add my shape, and then place my selected image into it. Once I attempt to create the clipping mask, the selected image disappears, and I cannot figure out why. I followed your steps to the "T." What am I doing wrong?
Hi Frank. Just so I'm clear, you added a shape to your document. Then added an image on the layer above the shape layer. But when you create a clipping mask, the image above the shape layer disappears?
@@PhotoshopEssentialsChannel Steve, yes. I first created a white background doc 20x16. I then added a background layer with a 55% opacity. I want to add 5-6 images to the background layer, but I've only experimented with one shape and image so far. In the layer panel, the image is above the shape layer. I go to click on "Create clipping mask," and the image disappears, but the "eye" for the image layer is still on. Makes no sense, but I must be doing something wrong. I even swapped layers around to see if that made any difference, but no. I followed your tutorial exactly. Is it possible that the background layer which I have at 55% opacity on top of the new layer has something to do with this? Thanks for the reply, and trying to help me work this out.
Hi Steve, been on a short vacation. Any insight into why I am having this obstacle inserting an image into a selected shape?
I can’t get it to work… instead of placing into the shape it keeps creating it as a new layer 😢
