I just bought one of these Reference cooler RX 580s for $55 3 days ago and I've been scouring forums asking if anyone knows the sizes of the thermal pads on these and of course the only answer I got is people getting mad that there's no standardization on pads sizes😂
good thing I found your video though, I already repasted my GPU with GC Extreme and am planning to replace the dirty and crusty pads with some Gelid pads.
nice to know they're all 1mm in size!
Good Luck with your Pad Replacement :)
nice cheap price, Enjoy
Thank you so much sir my GPU temp was 90c now after changing thermal paste and pads it is 62 to 63 C.
Awesome drop of temps!!
Update it gives 63 C for some time but after one month my GPU is dead.@@rickstechrepairs
@@ShawalKhan due to the Thermal Pad exchange? Was that the reason?
very helpful thank you
cheers
Thx mate

My rx 480 8 gig recently died a month ago. I'll use your video to change the thermal pads and change the old thermal paste and see if it can be revive lol.
Good luck, but I wouldn't hold much hope
did it work?
I still have an RX560 4gb and a GTX 1060 6gb until today
Long life cards
Certainly got your value
Give me the gtx 1060
What if i only changed thermal paste will i see a deference in temp
yes you should see a drop in temp
Is it the Linus drop edition 😂
Not quite
think I can get away with using 1.5mm thermal pads?
Not sur esorry
Bro u put way to much thermal paste
All good :)
better too much than not enough.
no, you can break your processor or motherboard if too much falls off@@MrAwsomeshot
@@internetytshorts6719 only if it is capacitive or conductive.
looks like homeboy is using good ol artic silver 5. so in this case it is slightly capacitive and manufacturer does recommend to keep it away from components and traces.
I stick with Mx-4 for this reason. Honestly there is very little difference between 'the best' and 'the worst' when it comes to TIM. Unless you are doing series overclocked where every .5 degree matters.
