If you guys ever go to Birmingham, the Red Lion in Erdington would be a curious one. They have a venue upstairs. Haven't been for years so may have improved since I was last there. If I knew of this series in advance I would have told you to go to possibly one of the worst venues - The Generous Briton in Loughborough. The dartboard was completely unplayable, any darts that hit the bed just fell out. If it was any harder it would have been taking me out to the car park for a scrap. It's a tiled floor so any bounceouts/fallouts meant potential damage to points, and you'd see sparks as well. Right next to the pool table so if two people were playing pool, they'd be annoyed with the darts very quickly. The bar didn't even have a match board. No oche either. It would have been the opposite of Spot On! What I can say for Spot On is that they have a singles league there with 43 players. My only gripes are the lighting, which I feel is quite poor, but also that players don't always walk to the right after a throw which causes congestion when lots of matches are happening. Sometimes it's unavoidable because some players think they're Stephen Bunting and play far to the left or right. Also, if a target is blocked and you need to move around the oche, there isn't really the space for that to happen without causing annoyance to the neighbouring board.
There are plenty of places still using regular spotlights but the mission, target and winmau lights seem to be gaining so much popularity, good to see as they’re the standard now.
That's the easiest thing that would elevate Spot On. My suspicion is that because of the players that have probably not played much before that they will cause a lot of damage to the lighting systems. Just speculation on that one.
Looking forward to when you go to local league venues where there's one board, you throw uphill, the scoreboard is behind you and there's a massive screen with football on right next to the board!
I do think the general lighting in the darts area is pretty much as important as the board lighting. Personally i find it awfully hard to play if I can’t see the dart clearly in my fingers.
Not sure if it's been said yet, but switching the dartboard lights off that are in shot when doing the measurements, conditions, etc will sort out your camera's exposure issues
@@missiondarts Really looking forward to more and seeing what you have planmed! As a long time brand fan and user, it's great to see more of an online (UA-cam in my case) presence alongside Matthew.
you need to go to the windle pub in st helens merseyside probaly best pub set up by far all done up with the latest of gear by a great man called karl who owns the local dart shop
You guys gotta do US series! Not to talk trash, but to highlight great places! No sense in shaming bars here, we need all bars, but high lights work's great!
Well, my oche is in the garage, the lighting is horrendous, its cold, my board is old with the sisal bulging out and that is why i only average in the low 100s 😂
This is a clever idea....don't just concentrate on the "showing off" venues, though......visit some of the proper shit holes as well for a genuine experience! 😂😂 *Just subbed BTW! 👍
Olympic club Swanley when Swanley singles league is on or Kent super league 4 boards including a streaming board . Good throws , wooden oches tablet or computer scoring .
@@missiondarts Not a darts venue but the boards are still up. For money leagues and super league there are four boards and a live streaming board. It's usually functions rooms with a bar and a snooker room so a bit like a modern social club.
Ah! Wish I knew about this last July. I went to Chicago and Detroit, brought my darts with me, but couldn't find a place to play. For some reason I got told not to go to Flight Club, and Point & Feather apparently doesn't have traditional boards!
The Ballymore Inn, Tandragee, Northern Ireland is hands down a far better setup than this place but you should exspect nothing less than the bar being run by the Northern Ireland captain
Bad sound quality will really effect how well the channel grows in subs. I have the same mics it’s Rode wireless and they just need to change the settings it’s an easy fix guys
Sorry but I’m not accepting 8/10 for an English bar, full of keg shite, not a cask in sight and you base the score on a Spanish lager that no self respecting Englishman should ever be drinking unless on holiday. Other than that, great review guys and looking forward to the next one 👍
This is quality content. I hope this is a weekly-ish series.
We have a lot of other exciting things on the go but it will certainly be as regular as possible!
I agree.@@missiondarts
Brilliant boys 👍🏻🎯
Outstanding idea this! And you've covered all the most important categories too.
10/10 😉

I do think the general lighting in the darts area is pretty much as important as the board lighting. Personally i find it awfully hard to play if I can’t see the dart clearly in my fingers.

Bradmoor Farm, Aylesbury unbelievable venue for darts 20+ boards
Wow 20+ boards, no doubt we will take a look
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Not sure if it's been said yet, but switching the dartboard lights off that are in shot when doing the measurements, conditions, etc will sort out your camera's exposure issues
Thanks for the feedback and whilst that is not always possible we will do our best and we have invested in some exciting new kit for future videos

You guys should've said on socials you were heading to Spot On. I would have come and said hi.
I am sure in the future we might do some 'live' Rate My Oche's....
If you go to Scotland go to Bishopton sports and social club, Bishopton darts

Any Real Ale behind the bar? Couldn't see any.
Well, my oche is in the garage, the lighting is horrendous, its cold, my board is old with the sisal bulging out and that is why i only average in the low 100s 😂
St Helens Darts Centre should be next
Sounds interesting
Cawburn Sports Bar Livingston. Treat Matt to a day trip to Bonnie Scotland.
Go to the red lion erdington upstairs in the dart room will be impressed
All suggestions welcome, thanks
You need to check Players in Falkirk
Get yourselves to MK Sports bar in Newport pagnell Milton Keynes. You will not be disappointed and will do well to find a better venue
Interesting, not far from Matt I think, noted thanks
No problem, it's round the corner from my house so defo some bias there. But I think you'll approve.
Well if you go to bradmore you will be blown away
Academy in Basingstoke. Best place I’ve been. Look no further.
Thank you for that info

Olympic club Swanley when Swanley singles league is on or Kent super league

Whats it like on a normal night..?

is this greenscreen or is it recorded on an ifruit kiddy laptop?
It was a disposable camera and a match as a light, but we are upgrading.. :)
Should have been 83 as any rated the measurement 10 out of 10 not 9 at the end of the video
We love how you spotted this ! we will give them 83 when we start a league table
The Ballymore Inn, Tandragee, Northern Ireland is hands down a far better setup than this place but you should exspect nothing less than the bar being run by the Northern Ireland captain
No Tablets or Computers, no light ring or something of this sort? That’s gotta be a no for me,dawg.
Guys you’ve gotta sort the setting on your mics out as it’s peaking badly pretty much the whole time , great video but the audio is so important
It’s not that bad mate just enjoy the video
it's bad video andsoundquality@@TomArtindale

Let's upgrade your lighting gents. I could hardly see you
Please refer to on screen captions
please use a better camera
