@@KennySebastian next time Naveen and you discuss Bollywood movies, just make sure that you pay extra attention to whether one actor is actually reacting to what another one is saying in a conversational scene or if he is just using the other's lines as his own cue. I find this to be the biggest problem in hindi cinema and I feel Naveen would agree with me since he shares my cynicism for Bollywood. Great video nonetheless..

My boyfriend and I watch your long recording on UA-cam every day with our evening cup of chai. Sometimes we decide to watch the news, and then within 3mins, switch to your recording.
I don’t have a question per se but just wanted to remind you and most good comedians like Naveen, Kanan etc. that you are doing a very important job. In the shit hole of a world that we’ve created, people can turn to you for a laugh. And in those moments of laughing, literally forget about all the bad things in life. So thank you!

This is for the first time I am reading comments on UA-cam (call me jobless) and finding it very interesting. I should start reading comments instead of watching the videos. Might save me some time. Can we have more of Naveen Richards on simple ken. Its a breather to find a show that genuinely deals with middle class issues and the day to day conundrums that stem from our upbringing. Also, it was nice to hear the chirping of birds given i live in a room with no windows.

The day you posted the first simple ken episode , I was very down that day but when I watched your video I cried while laughing . You really never fail to make me laugh .idk how but whenever you post on UA-cam , I was sad at the beginning of the day but it ends with a smile . I feel like simple Ken was a great decision you made. And you know what the production on this video is great cause the background is gorgeous and idk how this(as in production and editing) works but I do know it's alot of work and effort to do it so I really want to say thanks for doing that and for really making me laugh. Hey Kenny, I love each and every episode of these long recordings of you talking but simply the effort that you are putting in to make sure that every week, there is an episode for your audience to watch even in such harsh conditions is so commendable. I truly respect the amount of dedication that you have towards whatever you do, be it standup or such recordings or whatever other things you have going on.
My question for #SimpleKen is that when do you actually stop believing in or waiting on things thinking that someday sometime it's all going to work out for good and that the thing that you have been wanting to do for so long in your life, whatever it is, is actually going to turn into a reality because I am not in a position right now or have been in such a position to selfishly only think about me and what I want to achieve because of the effect that it will have on my family and I don't even know if when I do actually go after what I really want, that it's going to be perceived positively and when I think of that, in hindsight, there have been so many chances that I have forcibly or willingly let go and now I'm just trying to pursue what I want and I really want it that bad but the circumstances haven't changed at all and it feels so gut-wrenchingly bad about still having to let go off of opportunities but then again it's your family and you don't give up on them too..so like do you stop believing and give up or do you still believe, get hurt but still hope that someday it'll be good and alright and you will be doing what you wanted to do..
I've been binge watching these long records of you talking and they changed my perspective on listening to podcasts. Also, this is my first time commenting on a UA-cam video. For the first time in months, I feel better for having a lot of time in my hands, so I could just listen to this. Thank you, Kenny and Naveen! Good stuff.

When I go to sleep, I listen to some podcast (because I have a trouble going to sleep immediately) but with your every episode it is becoming increasingly difficult to sleep because it is sooooo interesting that I find myself concentrating so much that my whole body is tensed.

Honestly, the home setting for this talk is so cool. The backdrop of natural greenery is beautiful. You guys are settled in comfortably and are in your element. It's probably not a bad idea to explore recording this series at your home itself! (I understand there's production quality etc. which is best achieved in a formal studio setting).

And now no one can balance it better than her. She won artist of the decade and is also in a very happy relationship from the past 3 years.

1. I can't afford therapy, are there any other feasible options?
2. I don't have any friends friends. I have a couple of friends, but I can live without them. I am mostly like a loner. Is it normal to not have friends? Can a person lead a normal life without having at least one (real) friend?
P.S: I'm jealous of the bond you have with abish, kanan, naveen etc.
3. I think I am too selfish to love anyone unconditionally. So, does that mean I am not fit for relationships or marriage?
4. When you realise that you are the toxic friend or partner, what's the next step you should take?
5. I tend to think too much of doing the right thing everytime but it comes to actually doing it, I'll be #$%^ this... and always fall back to my old patterns... how do I break that cycle?

First of all , I love you both together. You both just naturally click, it's so easy for someone watching to connect with the stuffs you guys talk. I have observed Kenny laughing genuinely when ever Naveen cracks some jokes..I Just love it. Its so cool because it's so relatable - two friends hanging out together.
Secondly, this video is awesome mainly because you guys answered the questions without sugarcoating it. Right from experiences of middle class people, spoiled rich brats, how some faces are slappable, unrealistic hero centric bollywood flims to how people like me watch stuffs and never put out a word whether the stuff is good/bad.( Relatable)
Everything in this video was fucking honest and hell-bent.
That's is why I am posting this comment ( my first one amongst all your videos I watched gazillion times whenever I am feeling lost or happy or sad or depressed or whatsoever....)

I really loved this episode, and I was just going to play this in the background while I scroll through my phone, but you guys made me put my phone aside.
I am definitely going to watch Naveen's prime special, and maybe Starboy too.
Also, of all the relatable things you guys said, I think the most relatable was the one about telling yourself 'it's one of those days' and feeling better because you don't have to feel guilty for feeling a certain way. Somedays, you just won't have the energy for the pleasantries and it's okay. Believing it *will* be okay is equally important.

I am so grateful to you for pressing and raising the topic of the amount of MEHNAT that goes in "creating" and "making" (sadly not much appreciated). Even in the architecture community, we face a lot of "tum toh interior designer ho, builder ho, your uncle telling you to draw his house for free". Hi Kenny! Just wanted to let you know, the long recording of you talking has been sooo amazing so far from the beginning to the end! All of the 7 episodes are freaking amazing to listen to! I usually end up playing it on UA-cam but the last one with Naveen - I ended up listening to it on Spotify because I saw it there! Just not for the validation lol, but had to tell you that, all of your works reflect a different personality of yours, which is so amazing to look at because it's crazy to see, how one can do 360 works and still be so cool! Between die trying is still such a cute show and yet soo underrated, maybe you should promote it more often❣️
Being an comic artist and in the film industry myself, it was so fun to see Naveen getting pissed about the details, because it's sooo true! People take cinema so lightly when it can serve as one of the best medium to communicate with the 4th wall you know.. Having watched almost every video that is on your channel, I always knew I liked your personality, but these "really recordings of you talking" have really helped me pinpoint and appreciate what I really like.
I've come to realize, that it's how you have always looked at situations from a different perspective. For example, in 6th grade, you'd be one of the very few individuals to have realized how useless the education system is, while the rest (including me) just went on with whatever we were told to do.
Even your perspective on how sad it was that in art school people could not digest "draw anything". I really find it interesting that you seem to have this presence of mind that helps to you look at situations in a different light - which I think also helps with your comedy, while you observe things around you.

Do you recall any incidents/interactions/learnings that made you look at things this differently? Because, our education system has conditioned us to look at things in a certain way and not really mull over the 'why' of it - how did you escape? :)
Love the home setting Kenny. It's very refreshing. Maybe consider this rather than the studio? I understand there are other factors that come into play but this hasn't turned out to be bad at all. :)
Studio is sound proof. My living room is this quiet cause of the lockdown.

That part when Naveen was pretending that Xavier is his cousin and not a character created by him reminded me of Skechy Behaviour's that sketch in which Kanan pretended that it's about the mental health issue when it's clearly a sketch🤣🤣🤣(maybe the situations aren't that same but somehow it's relatable)

Hey Kenny, I went through a tough time in my last year of college and a lot of emotions I went through became a hard habit to break once I was done. When I started working I would go through the same emotions. Everytime I was stressed at work, I'd watch your videos during my lunch breaks and they helped. But I also realised that the content available was very limited and I didn't enjoy any other comedian's content that much. So thank you for putting out these podcasts. I've always got something I can tune into even while I'm traveling. I love how you just talk and I don't mean to be creepy but it's like hanging out with you. So basically, thank you :D

Having gone through it couple of times in the past 3 years, I have finally realized how not having a routine or not being busy can lead to overthinking, over-analyzing and penning down thoughts is very therapeutic and soothing.Thanks! This podcast / long recording of you talking is so refreshing. All this while it appeared as if we needed comedians to cheer us up, which we do there is no denial in that, but this, people who lead simple lives like us, have experiences just like us, and the answers that are given are not overwhelming. I've watched Star Boys and all the episodes of Uncle Francis countless number of times, and what makes those video series so amazing is that the voiceovers for Robo Rakesh and Uncle Francis given by Naveen is very natural. I could see bits and pieces of Robo Rakesh and Uncle Francis in this podcast, and it looked so effortless and natural. You've got some amazing talent Naveen!

Quarintine time has led to an outflush of creativity for many, including me. I am at my creative best ONLY when not bound by a deadline..or else the final product turns out just, mediocre. What according to you can one do to maintain the same quality of output in varied situations ? Also..Just curious as to what's the real reason behind one's creative block. #simpleken

Damn. That's why there's always time for Kenny.
1. Can I just appreciate that sample sets and averaging reactions were brought into the process of human emotion processing, wow. Again, talking about that estranging feeling one never wants to feel. Don't want to be alone in feeling something a certain way that no one has ever. We all want to feel emotions alike. How ordinary.
2. When something goes wrong with you, pave your way back to the point where you started losing it and then analyse. Backtracking. 100. Just got algorithms in this. Backtrack and traverse till desired solution is reached.
3. Completely hit with the revelation you made Kenny; when you simplify and explain things that happen in the simplest words and simplest form, people forget the effort you put into drawing that conclusion. Sometimes even when the fact is about yourself and you tell your friends, like, 'yes I've observed I do this when this happens'. That shit took some serious mental battling dude, but others who agree with it instantly might not see the work behind it. Yep. So what I conclude is don't simplify things for others to just to relate to them. Simplify for yourself. Understand, don't reveal. Let others do their bit of work.
4. That damn 'need to entertain'. And be engaging. It's exhausting to the limit that people just look at me when there's silence. Why do some people just feel that pressure to an extent where it translates into you doing a whole bunch of shit to just keep a connection going? It's a beautiful curse because I like being that person who is an entertainer and can always make people laugh. I just don't like when it becomes a liability.
Till what point do you think Kenny that a hobby can be pursued like a hobby and not a career choice? I understand all you've talked about first having a safe option and only pursuing what you love to do when you have the means to. But, what about the thought that maybe you like doing something as a hobby BECAUSE it is a hobby? Pressure changes likeliness. We've all seen that in various spheres of life. #SimpleKen
