    The rule beautifully explained!
    Are the many intermediate steps necessary?
    How do I ensure that the profile is not deformed?
    How do I get a closed belt?

      Thanks. There is possibly a simpler solution. Closed belt - you can do it by adjusting the values and a little bit trial and error, just move one end of the spline close to the other end. Deformation - I don´t know. I made this video almost 2 years ago so in order to give you more specific answer I would have to "revisit" this example - but I´m very busy, as usual.

    Hello Wolfgang how are you? tks by your tutorial =) and a have one Brazilian question: What is the reason to put in hidden the axis when you entered in the skecth mode? i noticed that the first think that you did was to select the axis and put it in no show.

    Hello Wolfgang I work with train in Brazil and i have a expecific part on train roof that i'd like to know with is possible to use the command that you showed in this tutorial.
    Imagine a belt with 0,6096mm thickness made in sheetmetal, now imagine some teeth side by side, is it possible to reproduce this tutorial in sheetemetal in a curve of 615mm with 7 teeth?
    Was it hard to understand, could you send me you email, send you somes pics and the part that i'd like to improve?

      sir its another name for toothed belts(synchronous belts)... :) is it possible to simulate these toothed belt drives in catia ??

      Ah I see ;) - there is no kinematic-joint for those but maybe one could "fake" it. You could maybe use the cable - joint.
