- In this episode, we delve into the reasons behind the crass and manipulative nature of our political class. We also reflect on our own responsibility in this matter and discuss what citizens can start doing to make a difference.
One starting point is to ask questions and understand what should be reviewed as part of our ‘national dashboard’. While we recognize that much of our country may not be able to do this, we also have a significant corporate-trained, educated, and upwardly mobile class accustomed to rigorous reviews at work. We need to apply that same rigor to comment on how we are doing as a nation.
This episode also features a translation of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s poem "Where the Mind is Without Fear."

While I may partly agree with you, after having analysed India's current state of affairs I do not make politicians responsible for it. It is the middle class which emerged post independence is responsible for it then the political class. This middle class is - doctors, engineers, scientists, academics, professionals in industry and all levels of government employees including people of all India services. They have corrupted politicians rather vice a versa.

My job all life has been to declutter seemingly complex issues in language and system so simple that even an unsettled person could also understand and internalise that too without letting the intensity of the issue lost or diluted.
Thanks that you found what I said. Need is that teacher begins to reach till what is being taught is understood and acted upon by students, The middle of India is hugely unproductive. You may often hear... ye hamse nahi ho paayega or tabhi hoga jab kuchh extra income ho. I am concerned by the fact that the rot will not clear for a long time.
You have rightly pointed out that if something goes wrong, we should speak, but the problem is that before any word comes out from our mouth, Whatsapp University grabs the other person in an echo chamber. If you speak against his beliefs, he won't speak with you again.
However, We will continue to speak the truth, but social media has created different versions of thruth.
Now, the only hope is AI. If that fails, then we will never see a world that Tagore has visioned.

Bureaucrats and Professionals look efficient in their own limited sphere - but faced with one public crisis they may run for cover. Leadership is not another B-school subject.

Yes I agree with you sir but all the govt could do was provided facilities but the smart and educated middle class failed to rise to the occasion and as Vineetji says left India or closed or eyes to what is happening around us. We should all take the blame and only then each one of us will be able to take action against the atrocities and crimes around us. We have seen that even in these terrible times people who have stood courageously could not be touched. Yes some of them are punished for it but many have still stood and fought.

From last two or three weeks i notice a change all of sudden unexpectedly rahul image improved and modi's getting weaker again not entirely but to certain extent social media plays a very important role and only if congress had used it intelligently since 2014.
In case if rahul gets opportunity in the future if he repeats the same mistake if in my hand I would sentence him to imprisonment.
