NBC was our childhood growing up and always will be. For me the best of NBC was hearing the voice of our beloved Mike Doc Emrick during the National Hockey League, Wednesday night, hockey, and Stanley Cup playoffs
It’s hard to believe the network that made me fall in love with the Blackhawks and hockey in general is gone. Some of my best memories were made watching NBC Sports Chicago when I was growing up. Thanks for everything.
Thank you NBC Sports Chicago for the great memories. I won’t forget watching Blackhawks hockey, Cubs baseball, Bulls basketball, and White Sox baseball on this amazing channel when I was growing up. Thank you for everything, you will be missed.
Outside of Chicago, NBC Sports Philadelphia is still active for the Philadelphia area, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware. NBC Sports Philadelphia was the home of the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Philadelphia Flyers, and it is formally known as Comcast Sportsnet Philadelphia, the channel that recently launched on October 1, 1997, replacing both PRISM TV, and SportsChannel Philadelphia. CSN Philly was renamed to NBC Sports Philadelphia on October 1, 2017 after 20 years.
Going to miss this channel so much. God bless all the people that made it happen, and God bless the people who's journey's are now affected by this move.
The network of mine and many others childhood and early adulthood, gone. The Cubs, Hawks, Bulls, the Jason Benetti Sox games and their Pre & Postgames and the Bears Postgame shows my family always used to flip to immediately after they were done. RSNs never last but man, this one was a titan. Thanks for everything and for making me the sports fan I am today
Same here, I won’t forget watching The White Sox, The Len Kasper Cubs, The Stacy King Bulls, and most notably The Great Pat Foley and Eddie Olcyzk Blackhawks when growing up. I won’t forget watching the pre and post game lives with these great announcers. NBC was our childhood, not just that, we won’t forget watching the voice of Hockey Mike “Doc” Emrick on wednesday nights, and the Stanley Cup playoffs in the living room. There were a lot of great moments that happened during that time the 3 Blackhawks Stanley Cup Wins in the 2010s, and the Cubs winning the 2016 World Series which was amazing. It’s so sad that they’re signing off for the last time, I’m gonna miss watching them so much.
What's funny is that NBC Sports Philadelphia still exists. Also. Comcast Corporation is also the parent company of NBCUniversal and NBC owned-and-operated television station WCAU-TV, Channel 10 (NBC 10), Philadelphia. Comcast Corporation’s world headquarters is also in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 😃👍

Ah but you're still paying for it. Xfinity never misses a chance to increase your rates to cover channels like these, but never decreases them when they go away.
Even though NBC Regional sports has left comcast people in Chicago can still view Blackhawks hockey on WJYS antenna channel 62.2 and the Bulls will also air games on Channel 62.2 so at least we still have the games.
From the White Sox and Cubs World Series Championships to the Blackhawks Stanley Cup Championship and so forth, I want to say Thanks For The Memories.😂
The channel is transitioning to CHSN, Chicago Sports Network owned by Standard Media. The contracts of the White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks with NBC expired.
Regional Sports Networks are going the way of Local Newspapers, Radio, and TV News. A generic national type thing that has no ties to its city and where you know more what is going on in NYC or LA than you do on your own Mainstreet, USA.
Love all the fake crying rn emotions with RSN’s, makes me laugh 😂. But I have to ask, does anyone think THE ERAS TOUR will end in this exact same order once TAYLOR SWIFT hits her last stop in Canada on December 8 on TS’s social media platforms?
Yes, however the big change is the new channel is free over the air. You can get it for free, no subscription fees, with an antenna if you live in the Chicago region.
as an a's fan who never used this channel, I feel you guys, R.I.P. NBC sports Chicago, but even though nbc sports California is superior, still, the memories y'all have seen on this channel, from the Blackhawks to the very trash white sox, and the bulls, their contract ended with nbc and now, onto Chicago sports net they go, also lets go Oakland.
An RSN which in most media markets is the main broadcaster for local NBA, MLB, and NHL games, however NFL games are typically on over-the-air channels like the local FOX or CBS affiliate and occasionally NBC or ABC if it's a prime-time game since NFL teams only play once a week and the NFL is far too popular in America for them to force local markets to buy a cable package to watch their team play. Although some RSNs have their own ESPN-style news coverage of the local NFL team, especially if no other games are playing and they have to fill time-slots.
I’ve literally never heard of NBC Sports Chicago until this popped up on my recommended feed, but R.I.P to it anywho 😢
Same here Lol
It had the best MLB game intro music and vid. Actually, maybe second to MLB on Fox.
It was my childhood. Staying up late to watch the Sox, Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bulls was something I loved but now I can't anymore 😢
RIP to NBC Sports Chicago after 20 years of fun memories.

Chicago Cubs baseball and Chicago Bulls basketball belongs on Super Station WGN. Anything else goes against my morals.
The SuperStation is gone and was replaced with "NewsNation".
Bring on NBC Sports New York to replace SNY, here in New York, home of my Mets and Uconn Sports, both men's and women's, but still!

Whatever, bring back SportsVision. What time does Sportswriters On TV come on?
That show was awesome. A bunch of grizzled sportswriters sitting around a poker table with newspapers on the floor, smoking cigars and talking sports.
