- Hi, just a quick video of me changing the speedo and rev counter dials/gauges on my Suzuki GS500. Probably not the best way to do it and definitley not a tutorial!, but quite happy with the result. Please bear in mind this is an old bike and I have no intention of ever selling it!
You can find the dials here: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GS-...
Looks great Mate. I had a GS and it was a great bike. Take care
Thanks mate, yeah I'm happy with the results. My new bars have finally arrived from China so hopefully I'll be doing an update soon. Thanks very much for watching and taking the time to comment!, much appreciated, Mark
That looks soooo much better Mark, well done! :-) top job
Why thank you kind sir!.. Just wish the new bars would hurry up and arrive, they're coming from China so God knows when they'll arrive!.. Ta for watching fella, hope you're out enjoying the double H 😁
@@MarkOneMoto not gonna get much riding done during lockdown, just shopping and commuting on it, but got some good (but soggy) rides in before it started 🙂
@@HippoDrones is there a lock down?.. You wouldn't think so here mate, no wonder our rates are crap...are you still at work?.. I've never missed a day through it, but I'm thankful for that of course. Take care dude.
@@MarkOneMoto it doesn't look like many realise, roads as busy as ever.
Am part furloughed and part working, luckier than a lot of folk
Big Pat on the Back Biker Bumble. Those look ace. 👍
Thanks very much, better than the old ones at least with that loose screw rattling around ha ha!... Cheers for watching and commenting mate, much appreciated 👍
If it works - it's not a bodge! Good job mate!
Ha ha, I like that, can I keep that quote?!.. Lol...well, seeing as one had already been sawed open, nothing to lose I guess, they both might aswell be like that. To be fair, this method seem to work quite well.. I hope 😬... Cheers for taking the time to watch and leave a comment Euan lad, much appreciated!.. Cheers man, Mark
That looks really good Mark, wish I’d done that method when I took my XV535 one apart... I damaged the binnacle, although I made a whole new fibreglass unit in the end. I like the white faces, they’ll go well with the GS.
Hello mate, thanks for that!..yeah, they're a massive improvement on the ones that were on at least ha ha!.. A bit of an unorthodox method I guess but it seemed to work out OK hopefully!.. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment, much appreciated, atb Mark
Nice job they look great..........👍
Ah, thanks mate, certainly better than the ones that were on there ha ha!.. Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment mate, much appreciated, Mark
Hello sir! Very nice job by all means! thanks for sharing. May I ask what type of glue did you use for the reassemble of the PVC type case? Cheers
Hey mate, thank you! - I just used common everyday superglue and it worked ok for me. I would suggest using it sparingly though as superglue can easily fog up the glass lens with a kind of white residue. good luck mate
Splendid that. The amount of times I use cutlery for none eating purposes when Mrs Rider Guider isn't watching hahhahahhaha.
Ha ha!.. Had to be done, and she got them back, non the wiser lol.. Ta for taking the time to watch and leave a comment mate, much appreciated!.. Atb, Mark
Quality job, the transformation is brilliant 👍
Why thank you ha ha!...bit of a hack job but seeing as a previous owner had already done it, we'll, nothing to lose then I guess lol...and it's all hidden by the pod anyway, so job's a good'un I reckon. Ta for watching lad 👍
@@MarkOneMoto we all love a successful hack job 😂👍
They look mint! Reckon you could dip the end of the needle in red paint or something to make it more visible?
Hello mate, ta very much ha ha!..much better than they were at the least...and aye, don't see why you couldn't do that 👍.. cheers for watching, Mark
Dam now i want to do this But countless searching I cannot find replacement faces

Nice job
Thanks mate!.. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave a comment 👍
@@MarkOneMoto I always enjoy people sharing tricks and useful experiences. Your approach for opening is great, and though I may not share your taste for black on white, it's definitely more useful than a video of a slip on exhaust sound...😉
@@yveslegrand9826 ha ha, brilliant thank you..yeah, bikes are all individual I guess, each to their own of course, and I'm pleased you found it helpful maybe, that's what it's all about mate 👍.. Take care, ride safe, Mark
@@MarkOneMoto I am in the process of adding LED under the 1/2/3/4/5 numbers of the RPM gauge to make a "integrated" GPI.
So I did cut open the RPM gauge...and now I am wondering : What glue should I use ????
It's a Suzuki, so I guess its the same plastic than your and it's definetly NOT ABS, Superglue may do wonders except if it is some spécial matérial... HHEELLPPPPPP ! Pleaase...
@@yveslegrand9826 hi there, I just used standard superglue and it worked fine on mine. I'd advise to be very careful though of course as it's very watery and when it dries, it can leave a white powdery substance on the clock glass. So my recommendation would be to use it sparingly, and be careful not to let it run of course. But in terms of gluing the clock back together, it worked fine for me.
