I'm 61 yrs old and I saw Journey in the 80's in Orlando, FL. I've been a fan for over a quarter of a century. That's a long time! I 'admire' Steve Perry for 'walking away' when he did. His voice is his, no one will ever be able to imitate it. I've not seen Journey with Arnel on lead vocals but I have heard him. He is not Steve and never will be. He gives it his all and all the fans need to either give him the respect he deserves or don't listen. He stepped into some BIG shoes. As for me, I listen to Steve's music. His voice is still one of the best in history. So all 'Steve' fans need to go get his 'Traces' album. Listen to your 💓's content and give Arnel that RESPECT.

I’m 53 been a long time fan and got tickets to see them in May yeah I loves Steve but so grateful I will not miss a concert thanks to ARNEL for being very brave and doing a very good job a replicating such a tall task bravo 👏

His tenor perfect pitch voice shows more when he sings ballads full of soul and emotions- and when he sings rocks-the whole crowd rocks with him big time !! A very talented and amazing performer !! I knew Arnel Penida as lead vocalist of Journey band and NOT the name " Steve " Arnel Penida has been brough back the music of Journey alive to the millennial generation and I could only.remember Arnel Penida amongst other members of Journey to be honest. I listen journey songs bcoz of Arnel Penida. After I watched few of his songs in UA-cam I got addicted that I need to reached and watched every songs of him , even prior his joining to Journey. He continued the legacy of the former front man Steve Perry. Arnel give his more than life to Journey group and he measured up pretty well. I love the group and I love Arnel Pineda, the humble Filipino guy who sings his heart out for all of us to enjoy. Mabuhay ka kabayan.
Arnel is the biggest critic of himself. He has had a good run, I hope they mellow things down so Arnel can get a longer voice rest. Regardless, he doesnthave to prove anything anymore, I still love him regardless.

When drummer Deen Castronovo was with the band...he also sang lead vocals that rivaled Steve Perry...giving Arnell some occasional relief throughout the concert...that kept Arnell fresher and his voice stronger. JOURNEY AND ARNELL NEED DEEN CASTRONOVO BACK ON DRUMS AND VOCALS!!!
I totally agree..i saw it in the blog of veteran rockstar music instructor. The comparison without downgrading anybody...Drummer Dean Castronovo sang Faithfully so lovingly...thus, he is needed in the band.

Yeah the place was empty for most of the Foreigner portion. They sounded perfect with another singer who did very well. The sax player FAILED, Urgent was tragic. True for the singer too on that one, maybe being my fav foreigner tune i expected too much, MAYBE. The sax definitely blew it. (hahaha). But as is with most opening bands for the opening band, the volume was very low, other than that it was energetic and sounded great.

This was one of the last songs that night, AND still they had leather jackets on.... That confuses me, if you been under the lights on stage, you know what i mean. It was warm enough that night, it was a beautiful night at ATT Park with the bay behind them...
He's dead tired and over extended. The toll of non-stop and countless years of concerts are having an obvious effect. Arnel needs to rest or "pop" goes the voice forever. Each added years Arnel's Perry vocals may just go out due to wear and tear. Enjoy Journey while they last for when Arnel goes, a suitable replacement maybe hard to come by and that would be a tragedy. Purist would probably be jumping fir joy at the news but new generation fans that knew only Arnel more than Perry would disagree and miss the band. Regardless of which, Journey indeed would be generally be missed for good. Steve Perry isn't coming back, don't be in denial as he's old and he's done.

I would have stood there and given the original boys a five minute, at least, guitar solo, and have been totally, enraptured and would have come in at just the right point to blow the roof off of the place, if it had been me. Guitar Solos are a HUGE, HUGE, part of what REAL, Rock is all about. It's as true now as it's ever been, and I bet the fucking, hell all these boys STILL, have it in them. My Old School, Retro, Best.
