Okay, so the legend of bumbo is isaac playing with cardboard toys he made with his father who left them. That's why his mother wanted to throw all of those toys away. Isaac has an infinite imagination so when he feels something is wrong in the real world (like when his father left them) he escapes to his imaginary world he made with his father. They played with those cardboard monsters before he left. So in the ending isaac begs for his mom to not get rid of his toys he played with his father, the imaginary world they created together.
The ending with issac's mother makes me believe a little that she isn't evil. I believe that the reason why issac's room is so empty is because his mom had to sell it for money in order to pay for things like food and rent. Even one of the endings of rebirth shows a missing poster with issac on it and his mom is outside trying to find him. And i know some people are going to tell me about the loading screen in binding of issac. I also believe that the reason why issac's mother is portrayed in a negative way is because of the kids bullying him shown in the loading screens. Becuase of them issac now see's everything about his mother to be crap or evil. Issac's mother really does love him but she treats issac like that so she doesn't lose him like how she her husband. She took all his things away becuase she had to. Yes this isn't a good thing for children to go through but might haven't had a choice. I belive at least a little bit that she isn't evil. God, the final ending here is so damn important. I hope most people have at least seen it because if they haven't they're really missing a lot of important stuff. It really makes the whole story a lot clearer.
"and i'll always be here waiting for you, in our next adventure toghether" this is why the narrator sounds like isaac's dad, he still imagines his father being with him in his very last adventure.
I was honestly just watching the endings for the flash version of TBOI and saw this. I.. was not anticipating the part with mom, genuinely had me in tears for a solid minute.
I love Isaac. He's such a good boy with a good heart. 3:17 that voice , makes you want to give him a big hug and to tell him everything is going to be ok.
So Isaac and his dad worked and created a world for them to cope with whatever was going on, but then it became too much for him and he had to leave, but Isaac still wanted to play with Bumbo, because the divorce made things hard. Wow. This really makes this interesting
***SPOILERS FROM REPENTANCE*** In the "true ending", we see that all was just story Isaac invented with his father, showing us all was just that. So happy ending. But, seeing this now, it looks like Isaac and his father does storys from allways, so, maybe what we see in the new ending is really a story, but in the end, Isaac truely dies, it was just a happy memory. PS: I wish the new super secret charecter is Bum-bo.
Ok watching this after playing Repentance clears a lot up. I should've learned from kingdom hearts that crucial plot points are tucked away in the spin-offs
I’ll always be here waiting for you. On our next adventure together. I wonder what the next adventure will be! also anyone hyped for repentance and revelations ch. 3?
I actually love how the trapdoor ending haded this big plot twist that it was actually issac mom just imagine this is when he came to the living room then he was playing toys that’s when issac all begins

The hole backstory of the saga: Isaac and his Dad played some DnD but Mom thinks that´s a devils game. So they made her the BBEG in some way or another
I love TBoI lore but jesus this got my feelings... Like, dude, i just want to know why he left, and more importantly, why he left Isaac with HER. I read a lot of theories about how his dad could have a gambling problem, and other crazy things that could make Mom angry at him and make her want to keep Isaac. But the little detail of him leaving Isaac too just doesn't make sense to me for one reason. He told Isaac that he had a great imagination, it is true that he also told Isaac to use it to escape hardships instead of comfronting them but that is not the problem here(or at least my problem with it), if those words are really the last thing Dad told Isaac before he left, then that means he wasn't a bad parent, he teached Isaac to use his imagination for good and reminded him about his creative potential. It just doesn't make sense to me that he could have just left them out of the blue, there has to be a reason for him leaving and it has to be one that would make Mom this angry(I mean she could also just be s crazy bitch). And more importantly, there has to be a reason why he left Isaac alone instead of taking him. I always gave Isaac's mother the benefit of the doubt, because in TBoI even if she is depicted as this horrible mother, that is just Isaac's imagination, it is obvious that she is a bad mother but she was only "extreme" in Isaac's drawings. And i still give her the benefit of the doubt because even if she sounds mean here, there could be an actually understandable reason for her anger. And i seriously want to know this reason... And i swear to god if Ed does expand on this topic and it ends up as "Mom is just a Karen that kicked Dad and then tried to force Isaac to believe that he is the bad guy here" type of story i will fucking snap because i am really sick of that story... PD: Isaac's Voice broke my heart.
I think its that his dad has a gambling addiction (slot machines and stuff being in the game) and because of that his mother kicked dad from the house and I think Isaac just thought that bum-bo would encounter him if he puts himself in a chest and thats why he enters the chest

Apparently, according to an ama on Twitter Ed did, Dad's note in Repentance is the speech at the end of this which is kinda beautiful
that got really unsettling.
suddenly seeing a realistic room, hearing that voice of dad, just
my spine
MY LEG
MY LEGGGGG
Boy, oh boy... I know of someone who will shed a tear of grace when playing this...
I see what you did there, and I like it.
I was going to make this joke on another comment
TEARS UP DISCOUNT HORSE PILL11!!!!
“What’s this? Another bumbo?” _screaming_
It kinda feels weird hearing Isaac's mom actually being nice to him instead of saying *ISSACCCCCC*
Ever since the repentance ending, I always took this game as a silly story isaac’s dad told him sometimes to cheer him up
I hope BOI: Repentence finally closes the history and explains everything
Until bam revelations dlc
Aint it just antibirth?
@@Kirb08Mrls not really, i think
It will add antibirth content, but I don't think it will be only that. They'll probably put more stuff into it
Antibirth content + stuff that Nicalis put in
Im From the Future and yes it did
I love Isaac. He's such a good boy with a good heart. 3:17 that voice , makes you want to give him a big hug and to tell him everything is going to be ok.
but what if Isaac was right all along...what if Isaac is a demon
Beautiful, beautiful lore.
Game * has good lore *
Also game: *s p i d e r w i t h l o n g b u t t*

That little monologue from Dad to Isaac hit HARD..
So Isaac and his dad worked and created a world for them to cope with whatever was going on, but then it became too much for him and he had to leave, but Isaac still wanted to play with Bumbo, because the divorce made things hard. Wow. This really makes this interesting
And now in a post Repentance world. Some of these make even more sense. It's pretty cool to see.
2:36 imagine the game just boots up binding of Isaac
edit: just got to the ending after that
So that explains the trap door
Let's admit it!
We love both Isaac's endings
Those last three endings hit me hard
I though this was a cute little spin-off without anything to do with TBOI but nope, i was wrong...
Very wrong...
It said in the trailer that its a *prequel*
Issac sure does have a lot of imagination with thinking of what’s in a chest
***SPOILERS FROM REPENTANCE***
In the "true ending", we see that all was just story Isaac invented with his father, showing us all was just that. So happy ending.
But, seeing this now, it looks like Isaac and his father does storys from allways, so, maybe what we see in the new ending is really a story, but in the end, Isaac truely dies, it was just a happy memory.
PS: I wish the new super secret charecter is Bum-bo.
Edgelord alert 🚨
have you considered isaac had gone to heaven
After repentance... this hits me so hard...
1:18 the voice actor probably had a blast with this
Hearing the music that plays before you start a game in Isaac just warms my heart
The Isaac's Voice....
Its Perfect...
Damn, as expected never judge a Bumbo by it's cover
Ok watching this after playing Repentance clears a lot up. I should've learned from kingdom hearts that crucial plot points are tucked away in the spin-offs
edmund wasn't satisfied making us cry over just binding of isaac so he made this game surrounding extra isaac lore which hits like a slap to the face
“The legend of bum-Bo, Rebirth”
I CAN'T TAKE IT HOW ISAAC SAYS: ''No, no, mama please!''
I AM TRYING MY BEST TO NOT CRY!
Ok, that ending legit made me want to drop a tear...
That final ending hit me like a train
After the repentence the last one feels so goooooooooooood
right? Finally a happy ending.
Dad really had a bone to pick with mom, constantly depicting negative connotation of her to isaac at every ending. They both were inciting poor Isaac
Cain bumb-o, friend bumb-o, and tainted forgotten bumb-o.
Well this contextualizes the endings of repentance a lot
Idk how a game about a cardboard hobo almost made me cry.
Man, I loved everything about this game except the menu.
I’ll always be here waiting for you. On our next adventure together.
I wonder what the next adventure will be!
also anyone hyped for repentance and revelations ch. 3?
the next adventure is repentance
I actually love how the trapdoor ending haded this big plot twist that it was actually issac mom just imagine this is when he came to the living room then he was playing toys that’s when issac all begins
Our next adventure togheter...
Stuck in limbo forever... I don't know if that's a happy ending for Isaac or a grim one
@@starkiller6tothe9gaming81 it's grim because let's just say Issac doesn't make it through the first game
@@thegamingdoggo9519 i was trying to be positive xD
Maybe... sometother fighting against a bunch of other persons game reveal?
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-
Who's here after the ending of Repentance?
a masterpiece
Hehe boi
Fun fact: isaacs mom's name is magdeline moriah that also means isaacs last name is moriah
comment section: lore about TBOI and isaac's death
repentance: hey, what story is this, isaac? why not make a happier ending?
I got chills as soon as I heard mom's voice.... I instantly regret watching this and wish I had just played through the game lmao. I'll likely still purchase it either way.
