Hardcore breaking into pharmacies. The risk is high but you could make some money or if you're an addict be happy as hell for a little bit. Then your tolerance would skyrocket. Especially if you got unlimited methadone or fentanyl.
The man had to literally SNORT GLASS to say "Okay, I've had enough". Artie had so much emotional pain, and I still believe the Stern Show enabled the living hell out of him. What's worse is how he was treated by the Stern Show afterwards, they didn't even want to acknowledge him anymore.

He's looked healthier on some of his early stern years for sure. He was jogging on the tredmill fast, and he was playing basketball one on one vs a pro female player, and pretty much would have beat her if they counted the 3 point shots as 3's. Artie is actually a great athlete, which many people would have ever guessed. He looked much much healthier here, as opposed to how he looked previously though. That mugshot when he got arrested was brutal, it looked like he was going to die that day, that's how bad he looked, so this is an incredible transformation. I hope he's still clean these days, but there's very little public information about him anymore.
During this clip, I kept wondering if Artie was having any psychological trigger cravings from discussing his drug use. I know first hand that addicts can can have trigger cravings from discussing drugs and how they used them. I hope that his willpower to not use will get stronger over time.
@@pumaqueen6 Actually, we don't get into details. The reason we don't is to not cause someone to be triggered. We all have different things that can cause us to use again. This could be a specific detail, smells, sounds, places or stress. Not everyone has the same triggers. Someone going into a detailed drug story can cause someone else to have what is called "phantom tastes" and/or "phantom smells" which is when someone can hear, see or smell something that causes their brain to remember what a substance tasted like or to remember what they physically felt after using. Those phantom tastes and smells decrease over time with some people. It takes a hell of a lot of strength to get up everyday and go about life and facing people, places and things that will trigger them, us. But that's what has to happen to overcome addiction. Hope this explains some things🙂

He was a coke addict for years (got clean, fell off the wagon, got clean, fell of the wagon - over and over). He finally got clean and really seemed to turn his life around for good - even did an "addict ministry" at the local jails. But, sadly the damage to his body was already done from years of addiction and he passed away at 39 while he was completely clean (heart issue). That's something I think addicts don't consider. I feel you Arty....me and buddy about ruined our lives forever because of opiates. We were breaking into pharmacies at night...taking 60 - 70 pills a day...not a penny to our names. Luckily we were caught and dodged prison but did 10 years of probation. Becoming a felon saved my life as weird as it sounds.
Same. I kicked but my two closest friends died before they were able to get clean. So glad you made it out.
Hardcore breaking into pharmacies. The risk is high but you could make some money or if you're an addict be happy as hell for a little bit. Then your tolerance would skyrocket. Especially if you got unlimited methadone or fentanyl.
Proud of you bro
Hell no ten years of probation is crazy I could barely do my three.

What a great and insightful comment
The man had to literally SNORT GLASS to say "Okay, I've had enough". Artie had so much emotional pain, and I still believe the Stern Show enabled the living hell out of him.
What's worse is how he was treated by the Stern Show afterwards, they didn't even want to acknowledge him anymore.

Ironically, this is probably the healthiest he's ever looked since before "mad TV" . Way to go Art ! Keep it up !
Ironically, he now looks like the pig he played on MadTV.

As a huge fan of artie and a recovering addict, I’m so happy Artie is on the right path
I have always loved Artie. I am in recovery from an opiod addiction and I understand the pull.
During this clip, I kept wondering if Artie was having any psychological trigger cravings from discussing his drug use. I know first hand that addicts can can have trigger cravings from discussing drugs and how they used them. I hope that his willpower to not use will get stronger over time.
I guarantee just cause I did
He didn't get punched. He was doing drugs up his nose. He's in denial.
100%. Every single moment can be a struggle between choosing to use or not. It doesn't end unless a) lots of time or b) replace stimulus
If you go to meetings than you're talking about that every day
@@pumaqueen6 Actually, we don't get into details.

He finally got clean and really seemed to turn his life around for good - even did an "addict ministry" at the local jails. But, sadly the damage to his body was already done from years of addiction and he passed away at 39 while he was completely clean (heart issue). That's something I think addicts don't consider.
