I flew OH-6's in the Army. Sure do miss it. Great little aircraft, I would love to find one. Pull the doors off and rip over and around the landscape...ah, what great memories. Enjoy!
This had to be one of those "I don't know how to fly a helicopter, but I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express" moments :-) If that was your first time, you to be my wingman anyday!. Flawless all the way, and what a perfect landing! Incidenatlly, everyone is right on the aircraft issues, but I like to give credit to Hughes for coming up with such a nice aircraft...MD only bought the brand and has tweaked it nicely (NOTAR, etc.), but you can't beat a timeless design...the DC-3 of turbines!
the md didnt come out until the late eighties the 369 and 500 c were built from 1960s and mcdonald douglas did not have the purchase of hughes only in the LATE eighties did they start branding the hughes md th turbine is the c18 the c20 was in the d series good video majority of the aircraft with the 500 designation are the E modles not repreat not the 500c my dad flew with the 1st of the nineth air cave in the 500c serries helicopter as the light observation helicopter in the sixties
MD never come out with that instrument panel, MD instrument panel much bigger and MD did not take over Hughes till after the Hughes 500E was produced around about 1984-1985
Im obsessed with this model chopper❤ very sleek design. Love the egg shape.
Nothing sounds sweeter than that start-up...got to get me one one day.
I find it amazing that aircraft was built in 1970.
Love the sounds and smells of start ups!

Back in the day the real LOH pilots sat in the right seat.
My boss would probably wanna have a chat with me if he saw me walking behind the tail like that haha
Did you noticed N369A? 😀
0:40 awesome sound
MDs are awesome choppers
Till the collective spring breaks....
Nice video.
Did you hear the response when the turbine started
what is the diference between the tail wings we see hear compared to the usuall T shape tail
Isnt' this a Hughes 600e? When MD bought it and made it the MD500 wasn't that only with the pointed nose?
This 500 is commonly referred to as a C. Type certificated as a 369 HS. The E model was certified in 1982. MD bought Hughes Aircrft in 1984.
It's so cool!
so in what part are youn"in" the heicopter?
Nice vid and nice machine! Are you rated in the 500?? How did you know the startup??
NICE MD HELICOPTER
Is your battery weak
Bravo!!

Dear Santa.......
LUCKY YOU!
Took a long time to hit 58%n1?. Weak battery?
No. Temp was high. Must have landed recently so he was using the starter to pump cool air into the turbine to cool it down before starting.
I think he means the way it hung for ages at 50-something percent.
here we are coming across a youtuber trying to feel genetically superior
Must be a civilian version of the military's AH-6J Little Bird awesome attack helis
BRADY SCHROEDER About three generations before the J. This would be the C model or H-369 prior to the 500 designation from MD.
Ok
Pssh.....It's never to old to learn.
Awesome...;-)
@fritzmaxxx I think I'll disagree.... 0:45 is even better! ;)
