- Dymo Thermal Printers just released a new model, the labelwriter 5XL. In this video we take a look at the 4xl thermal label printer and the 5xl thermal label printer. Both will work with printing on etsy, ebay, shopify, amazon, poshmark, pirateship and many more shipping label platforms.

got one question, does either one print eBay label with tracking numbers on them so I don't have to use my HP printer cause I rather use one that is self sticking so I don't have to use packing tape to make sure it stays on or do you recommend another printer that does it.
Would you want to try Cheecent CR202 print server to chagne Dymo 450/550 to be wireless for local computers?

i didn't study into it much but i got the 5xl and i can't figure out why i'm unable to change the dimension setting of the printer to 4" x 6" labels it just won't accept that setting for me, can anyone here help with that??

@thecollegepicker have you tried just sticking the rfid inside the new roll, so you dont really need to change the core? is there a print count limit on the rfid tag
The print count is rewritten to the tag and runs out at 0
Could you somehow remove the chip from a finished roll and tape it inside the cover so it gets the chip signal but can use any old style labels?
Seems like the right answer. Just make sure you use a Dymo label when you tape the chip on there. Don’t want to void your warranty.😂
After i had found out about the “feature” they added, I went looking for label printers of other brands, and im thinking of getting a brother one (might even be the model you mentioned)
Recently been having issues with my Brother Ql-1110NWB, when I try to use the feature that crops barcodes for my FBA labels it just does not work no matter what I do. Loving the videos, hoping my QL-1110NWB issues can be fixed soon.

Yes, it was working and then stopped.
Has worked before.
Just tried it again and it did work ( thank goodness ) however the only way I got it to work was to unplug the printer and then plug it back in after 5 minutes.
@@jessewarren9177 My guess would be some windows update? Is it doing a red light error or just not formatting right and still printing?
@@thecollegepicker after I unplugged it and plugged it back in it cropped no problem. No red light was just odd that it refused to crop barcodes out and then worked again randomly. I use the crop feature to print my FBA Labels weekly.
the least we can do is like, sub share, comment 0:40 I love this one using for about 1 year now. and I paid only $130 at the time

Rollo just dropped their new wireless printer with airprint for IOS users.
Bluetooth is hit and miss. If you mostly print in an office or at home get a direct wifi or a wifi network thermal printer. Brother has some like their Brother TD-4550DNWB or Brother QL-1110NWBC and Rollo has a wifi version too. Zebra has some as well but they are a little clunkier for beginners.

Neither
None of the dymo ones work with free labels because their labels have a little hole on them that tells the printer where the labels are at to reload it.

There is heavy duty encryption in the DRM so its unlikely a 3rd party supplier with bother spending the money to defeat it.

I see people mentioning DRM. Besides that, it probably has been patented some way. It's not likely that third party labels will come out very soon, or not at all. If they do, they might be more expensive as well.
To go short, with this vendor lock-in (it's not a feature in any way), Dymo flips the bird to its customers. Well, let's just flip it back and don't buy this crap.
The Dymo 4XL can be used with any Wifi, or Ethernet connection, and print from any Mobile Phone or tablet and the Dymo 5XL isn't needed. It doesn't require a print server, or any hardware. It can be setup in minutes without special equipment. You can be up and going in 10 minutes.
Hi, are you referring to the USB ports on certain routers that act as print servers?
You just gave a statement. But no answer on how to print via wifi. So your comment is null
@@thecollegepicker you can have it running as a network printer in a variety of ways either sharing via PC/laptop/raspberry pi, adding a print server, plugging the USB into a compatible router but it still doesnt change the fact the 5XL is alot easier having the ethernet port and capabilities all built in and ready to go

BRING BACK THE 450 INSTRUCTIONS/SETUP. This new set up is crap. Hundreds of your customers valuable time wasted. DYMO 450 was the best and easiest label writer ever - with this one you need to set up new every single time, they cant be saved at the side like before - have to be saved on the PC - as if you would bother. The large label you have to drag all the sides out to make the text fit the large label - every time. I print hundreds of different labels. Took hours to download too. And you force us to buy your brand labels - how dare you. Total Crap so angry with you fools. You should value your paying customers who made your company.
