The addition of the musical interlude provides a nice touch to your informative videos. Thank you.
Thank you for today's video Kyle. It has made me realise that poor life choices and apathy aren't something I should be ashamed of.
Hahaha thanks, I'm glad you were able to get a worthless life lesson out of this!
Yea.... about that mob... you owe me for the catering and port-o-pottys. On a completely unrelated note... Last week I had my first experience with a modern mig welder and thanks to your videos it all went very well, for a beginner. I followed your teachings by first tossing every tool I own on the floor and mixing them toughly with the garbage. I had my doubts but I got excellent results. Cheers from the Shed
It's nice to know that you've actually been paying attention this whole time. Most people overlook that critical step and are never able to successfully Mig weld.
You have traveled a great distance grasshopper--but you have many more miles to travel...
"I need it to get to work tomorrow " 😂😂😂.
Don't understand why this channel is not more popular. It ticks all the UA-cam boxes: cats, drama, welding and grinding, sarcasm, ...
Haha I think those are all the things that prevent a channel from becoming popular
Take it for what it's worth. You are a true craftsman and I am impressed at your attack on this rust bucket. Great video
I remember replacing rusted out body metal using sheet metal screws and new metal then covering the inside with tar. That was before we could afford a oxy acetylene torch. MIG welders were just a dream back then.
"Self tappers, grinder, seam sealer - throw some bonds over it.." you just described 90% of the "restoration" work I've seen lately.. Great job on those rockers and floor sections. I've been enjoying this series a lot! Thanks!
I agree. Even some people showing others how to f uckup .And it makes things much more difficult to repair correctly. Thankfully restyling is awesome 👌
I'm glad to hear that you and Shed by the tracks have come to an understanding. I may have given him a piece of my mind, if I did it was more likely than not, something backing your point of view. Just doing what I can to promote world peace.
That was a beautiful Road Runner! Those self installing body panels must be pricey. Thanks as always.
Yeah you pay a premium for them, but the time saved is worth it
If your truck identifies as rust free, then it is. Job done! 👌
@@daviddeloera711 I knew at least one person that watches Kyle's Hair Styling would appreciate my humour! 😉
This is 2023. Plywood now identifies as a floor pan and 2×4s identify as rocker panels. Get with the times!
I really enjoyed watching the cats trying to fit a patch panel onto the wooden floor!
I really love the yellow wheels for some odd reason it works very well. Very nice car.
Another great video.
Thanks.
Very impressive, this upload… Glad to see your Patreon list growing!
As always, a very entertaining video. Poe appears to be increasing his bread tie skills.
Do your best and fill the rest. That rocker panels family deserves it.
Your kitties should get a music contract they make great fiddle and Banjo playing and you are doing a great cab repair 😄
Crazy how much rust is going on there. Keep up the excellent work. You will conquer 💪
A shining example of when the pro says "No", the amateur goes "Hold my beer, watch this".
Nothing to do with not being able to do it, it is about fixing it economically. These pro shops are profit driven, so anything beyond their pay grade, they will decline.
Bondo is life. If you threaten that rocker panel it will go on crooked just for spite. I've had that happen more than twice. Are you feuding with that Cold War Moters guy ? Tip over his outhouse. That'll teach him.
Great video Kyle! You're really stepping up your editing with music, impressive!
Keep at it Kyle, more nice work!
love the fixing these rusty cab videos learn lots from them been watching the subscribers grow awesome thanks for the videos
I like your take on challenges in the shop. And your sense of humor. Thanks for putting these videos together and sharing them.
Watching you work make me miss fixing old junk .
Great looking roadrunner 😮 5:59
Amen, brother--those things rusted out immediately--how did that one survive?
I just finished Building it, used to work with Kyle. Wanted him to see it. He's a great dude!!
"Do your best and fill the rest". I need to install a patch panel on my Ranger pick up over the rear wheel well. There's only 2 things keeping me from fixing it, 1.) It's been too hot to work outside, and 2.) I'm lazy. Your video has inspired me, so I need to do something else to get over that feeling. Carry on.
Hi John! I recommend rewatching all my videos. It's a great way to procrastinate on repairs and cure insomnia!
Another great video. You are doing a great job on the truck. You make these repairs look easy even though they take a lot of skill. To quote Forrest Gump; "Do your best and fill the rest, That's all I have to say about that".
Kyle, As always your work is second to none, keep doing what you do, even though you think it’s repetitive we always pick up something else from it. Great job!
I'm not sick of watching it. I'm getting ready to start on another 71 c10 that's pretty rusty. I'm getting some good ideas watching you. Keep it up.
Well. No copyright strikes on that music. Well done, my Son
“Now all we gotta do is seam sealer over--“; that’s when I spit my Saturday night popcorn and pissed a lil 😂. Awesome work Kyle. Keep ‘em coming bro. Seam sealer. Haa did you move south of the Minnesota boarder. So good.
I found you getting patch panels in place much like cats playing with bags.... Good Job!
I learn slow, so I need repetition--I like seeing you do patch panels, especially when you make the panel--it makes me think I might do the same! I enjoyed your fabrication music too.
Looking much better
It's probably good you were born in Canuckistan. I'm here at the Duct Tape Drags in Tucson, Arizona, and there is a huge herd of rust-free C10s. I don't know how you would occupy your time here!
Rust free C10's??? Such a thing cannot exist in my world!
Thanks Philip, enjoy the drags!
I'm only speaking (typing) for myself when I express the following ......
Thus far, I have not been bored nor tired of watching the cutting, welding, grinding on THIS project or any other that you have shared on video.
My only regret is I dove into my 'project' before you started your channel. I can now detect some of the ways i should have went about my repairs.
My next 'project' will be more in line of what I have learned from watching your channel.
Thanks Kyle.
Thanks Russ! I hope some of this nonsense that I ramble on about will help you with your next project!
The cats are right-screw body work, just carelessly toss crap about and have fun! Look out Scott-they’re coming for ya! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yeah I wish I would have listened to the cats sooner. This whole bodywork mess could have been avoided
Glad I watched, I had the same road runner in 1975. Mine was same color but no vinyl top and black interior. Thanks for the flashback. Earned you a subscription
That's awesome, thanks! The Roadrunner isn't mine, though. It's been owned by the same guy since the early 70s and just had a ground up rebuild finished by a local shop.
has been a bit of a grind, but we now get the drill, ' you can not cut corners ' 👍 rob nz
Thank you! I'm really learning a lot about welding and car repair watching your videos, and the cat clips! Sadly, due to my visual impairment power tools are not my friend. So I really apprecaite your work.
Ppl said the same about my 76 Jeep j10.. but i showed them. Rebuilt the entire bed floor and cross members.. It was a giant pile of rusted.. with no hope i jad to cut it entirely out and start from scratch.
You do fantastic metal work it's nice to see real craftsmanship on a you tube channel. Ive mentioned your channel on some other channels i hope that helps your channel. Thank you
Come for the cats and surliness; stay for the welding.
It's so comforting to see that even Canadian ginger cats are natural idiots -- but with good hearts. Little fella is just doing the best he knows how. Sweet critter.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to explain the plug weld procedure.
How could we get sick of watching the metal wizard with such a nice hair piece.
@@CarterAutoRestyling You did LOL we would still watch your show even if you had a tit on your head with one hair growing from the nipple.
That was some mad welding skills there. I liked your tips as they were thorough and made sense. The crazy humor helps out a lot. Glad you and Shed by the Tracks buried the hatchet in the ground and not in your heads.
Great work and video young man. I agree with you on the bondo boys. I call it dog shit, because when I repair cars that need welding to pass a ministry safety test here in the UK, bondo/dog shit/filler is a pain in the backside!
If you care to get the fit up good, you don't need much filler if any.
Keep up the good work young man and all the best for 2024!
Good stuff Kyle! Turning swiss cheese into a solid truck. She's looking good!!
Thanks Ken, I'm hoping to have all the cab repairs done this week
I live in a rusty state. Every five year old truck has rust somewhere. I started rust repair in the '70s on Japanese cars I flipped. Those were all handmade patches , pop riveted in with fiberglass filler over everything. Some of those cars are still around amd look pretty good! Now with the patch panels for everything this work is much more fun and easy, (well for my shop). You can get a nice car with rust pretty cheap, get one and try it out!!!
"Do your best and fill the rest."
He admitted you were right all along? Oh I see this starting up again.
I think we should keep our tents up next to his garage just in case you need some support.
Unofficially the Carters Hair Styling war department still approves of camping out in front of his shed...but you didn't hear that from me
First time watching your Chanel, just wanted to say that pole barn garage has you beat in the metal working. 😉😆 kidding..
nice work, good video. Subbed
Hey thanks! I agree. That pole barn guy is the best metalworker on youtube!
Carter, great sense of humor and awesome work you definitely know what you’re doing. Keep up the good work and all the videos we support you my friend.
Thanks for the bonus b body clip , not that I’m an all in purest but the hot rodder must’ve souped it up a bit with the cross bracing
I was only thinking I should look for your plug welding video and there it is. Thanks.
I was watching this again and it occured to me that I might not have left a comment. I then decided to scan the comments but there are 369 comments so I gave up looking. So I'm doing my part and commenting. Great video. Thank you for your time.
Bondo Is Life !
i tried the door install on my 93 s-10, it just gave me a dirty look. thumbs up
Time to make a late evening run to a supermarket for some bases for your welding carts...or find some abandoned ones...but don't threaten the whole rack of them to get them in the truck!
I endorse this strategy. I also make engine dollys out of em too.(for easy moving engines around)
Great video. You really know what you are doing and the most calm attitude. Made everything g do fit like a glove.
Enjoyed the introduction. This is my first time watching your channel, and I was nearly persuaded to say, give the guy a chance...restorations can be a swamping challenge...
I just got back from the garage where I was telling the tail panel on my old Chevy to install itself ... it told me to go (*%$"#!!) myself ... guess you got to know how to talk to those parts ... enjoyed the video ... liked the plug weld spot ... now let the custom begin 👍👍
Try talking back next time. Let the panel know who's boss. Give them an inch and they take a mile
Told my low tire to change itself, had dinner and went to bed. Next morning was late for work, found out my tire was in a union and wouldn't work nights.
Tractor Gnome is the real enemy? Say it isn't so, Kyle! Hmmm...he does look pretty sketchy when I think about it.
Bondo is life. Cheers! 😉🛻🏁🏁
Awesome WORK bro. Thank you for Sharing...Busy with my '76 F100...from South AFRICA
Great job😁 like the videos, keep the videos coming with short interval.
don't skip any parts just because you've just done it on the other side, just timelapse it instead.
greetings from Norway👌
i like how you weld into seam and filing it come. i love this new machine works beats old way using stone hammer and heat. i love watching videos . true master. for newbie
Just done the same things on our sons 66 C10 ! There/its a job, pays off in the end ! Good luck brother ! 👍✌
Your good. How can you keep from laughing. Love your videos
Thanks! Rust repair is a serious business, so laughter is prohibited in the workshop!
It is looking awesome. Thank you.
Well, Im no exspert but as soon as i viewed the latest installment of your, apparently, popular channel, i was struck by the fact that as soon as that wonderful old c10, back in Montana we called em pickups, the weather changed here in ND. Now could it be that the massive amount of metal used to create solid structure in said pinkup disrupted the space time continuem and caused it to be a bit brezzy in ND? Dont know fer certainly but....
Thanks for another great tutorial and as always i enjoy the humor and antics and most of all i learn something new every time i watch! Thank you! Peace out until next time!!!
Nope , not tired of watching rust repair. One of these days I'll get to fix mine. But until then I'll learn all I can. 38:57
as always brilliant stuff👍a bit of effort and crap turns to gold
cheers joe
LMAO "My only vehicle and I gotta get to work tomorrow!"
Love your work
You are amazing to tackle the bad ones.keep goin!
Dude as someone that has no idea but also no choice but to weld his own floor pan in a van or wait 4 months for someone else to do it ,thanks for the advice and wish me luck. Oh should I take the gas tank out before welding above it 😂
You've done amazing work. I'm sorry for the rascal who bailed out on you, I hope he watched this and learned how it''s done! We are presently working on my sons '79 GMC that looks to be in the same condition as the cab you are working on, therefore, I am greatly inspired that we can fix his cab too!
Amazing how the cobbler can attain perfection. Amazing MeoW MeoW!!
Interesting color combination on the Roadrunner with a vinyl top, too. Good wheel dressing..
Yeah that's the original colour/top/ interior combo on the Roadrunner
I wish I would have done that when I did my 63. I kind of just hacked it together just to make it solid and drive the truck.. Live and learn
You did what you knew how at the time when there was no UA-cam.
Me and a friend had a body shop right out of high school. We were just young kid's 18, 19 year's old putting car's back together the way we knew how no training. At the end of the work the owner's were happy. Until we got older and more experienced then we started to put car's back together the right way replacing metal.
Great work and filming as well. Also enjoyed the Ookpik Waltz!
Bill
my garage has looked like that for the last 12 years
Do your best and fill the rest! ❤
Excellent! Love watching this stuff. Any fender fixes coming up? Nice road runner!
I don't think I have any more fender fixes on this one, but there will be on the next project!
Great job! This is how I use to do it , it was a great video and kind of funny too.
great music
'I need it to get to work tomorrow' -- woo hoo! You are one of these guys like me whose morning commute is seven steps. I like the waltz music in the beginning during sped-up fitting and welding -- it makes a nice journey for us viewers. I also like the polka-type music later -- even that works in a similar manner, albeit it is more frenetic, like the sped-up welding. The plug weld tutorial was good. Nuances matter with sheet metal. As I recall, on your MIG, you use the small wire, like 023 or 025? I DEFINITELY want to learn that Harry Potter incantation that presto-changeo installs the door. That is WAY cool! Things are coming along nicely.
I use .023, although there is no noticeable difference between using .023 and .025.
Yeah, that is one of the things that I learned from you -- when welding sheet metal, use the thin wire! I normally weld with .o35, and it is far from optimum when welding the thin stuff. I now also have an .025 drive wheel and some .025 wire, so I am learning.@@CarterAutoRestyling
You do excellent work and I always enjoy it. The Plymouth Road Runner was a fine car.. and the first music you put on was the best..I'm an avid fan..and I'm 85 watching your program and taking care of my semi invalid wife of 62 yrs Paul in Ohio..
Thank you Paul!
