Just a heads up everyone. After opening the laptop off camera I don’t see a ram or ssd slot unfortunately for potential upgrades. Looks like you’d be stuck with soldered ram and emmc
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15IGL7, which has upgradable RAM and SSD. With 8GB of RAM and a 256GB WDC SSD, it’s suitable for web browsing, watching videos, and some office work. Honestly, it feels pretty fast for its specs and price-totally worth it.
@@whattmeterMine was slow and stuff at first it just takes a little time to configure. I turned off s mode and got rid of x box and macafee. You don't need macafee windows defender is enough. Turned off the copilot crap.
I'm planning to buy a lenovo laptop. Purpose is for online classes, browsing, UA-cam, movie and FB. No gaming. I have 4 personal choices: Intel Celeron N4020, Ryzen 3 7320U, AMD athlon silver 7120u and Ryzen 5 7520U. Which one is good for my usage? Thanks
Unfortunately it freezes a lot. I opened it, can’t even add ram. Cpu keeps hitting 100%. Just my opinion though. Definitely entry level usage. In the video when I was testing the webcam this thing was already freezing on me unfortunately
@@Arctic_-if you keep it in Windows S mode you can’t install google chrome unfortunately. You would have to take it out of windows s mode first. External ssd or hard drive will work
@@doggonotfound i would check task manager > performance to see what your cpu is, ssd, ram. You can also see your ram slots and speed to see if you can upgrade the ram on it. That would be a start
what year is this Lenovo?? They make good machines usually. I know you got it cheap but man. My maxed out Dell 2018 speakers get smoked by 6 year older macbooks
Bodhi or LXLE would do this Paperweight a world of good. I have a old Dell inspiron 1440, with a 2.2 ghz Intel Pentium Dual Core T4400, that i use when working for music, running Bodhi, and it, for the most part is snappy nice vid btw

My 2012 unibody mac pro's would smoke this thing. They still run amazingly well with an SSD and RAM upgrade.
Yeah this lenovo laptop is pretty bad. Definitely not worth it. They took away possible upgrades on the ram too

These machines make decent chrome OS flex laptops, but they are absolutely not usable with windows.
I agree. Even windows S mode is unusable
Mine works well with windows
@danieloshea3326 glad to hear that. Maybe I got a lemon
@danieloshea3326 hopefully a wipe and reinstallation of windows will help my laptop

my thinkpad x230 with i7 laying around for 10 years would smack that shii
i just bought this for college, only really gonna use it for college school work, was it a good purchase??

This lenovo is 2023. I have a $110 laptop review going public at midnight. It’s a much better laptop than this. It’s an asus

Thanks for the suggestion. Good idea
@@whattmeter Welcome. and useing freetube, it can do fullscreen 480 youtube
Wow I did not know that. Thanks again for sharing
When I saw the word CELERON, I know it is bad news. I will touch it only if I am properly compensated.
Your thoughts were spot on. It is bad news
Think I might sell my Xbox and buy this thinking about brutal doom and some castle crashers and soft modding some consoles
Oh wow. Good luck. I don’t even know if this laptop can run castle crashers smoothly. This can barely run its own built in applications
@@whattmeter I’m probably gonna downgrade to windows 10
Nice
@@whattmeter guess who was wrong you it works like a charm upgraded it to windows 10 got fire fox living the dream baby
@@whattmeter also it runned it’s built in applications perfectly normal on windows 10 and it did play castle crashers 40 fps
Can I watch movies on it?
Yes when it’s working properly
just get an old used laptop. if you plan on using it for school or something else, get a thinkpad X220
Good suggestion. Yeah before you could add ram and ssd to these budget laptops. They definitely changed it up
@@whattmeter yeah you do need new ram and a new ssd for them to be usable, sata ssds and ddr3 ram are cheap last time i checked
honestly with windows 11 its just ewaste not worth 150$ AT ALL, just buy a used laptop
Definitely some used lenovo thinkpads that are much better than this with the same price point
waaa
no performance tests
What kind of performance test? This thing can barely run anything. I can make a follow up video. I would also have to remove it from windows s mode
@@whattmeter Half 2 or Team fortress 2 Duo cores can (MAYBE) run those on all minium resolutions
Lol ok. I’ll give it a try haha I have no confidence in this laptop but it’ll be worth a shot
