    after having seen thousands of videos on the campervanization of a van, also wanting to have a van in the future, I congratulate you because you finally show in detail how to build it. feels like school. very good and thanks. I'm surprised you don't have 1 million followers

    Very tidy and well routed installation. A Crash sensor and Excess Flow cut off valve would be nice improvements for safety while driving.

      Yeah! had a few comments about that so you will note on the more recent videos I have ditched the background music altogether. I thought it was better than hearing me droning on, but amazingly, people actually want to hearing what I'm saying. It is a surprise!!

    Just a helpful tip: A lot of these fixings are exposed to the elements, I’d be inclined to use as may stainless steel bolts and nuts, as the ones provided in the kit are only flash zinced, and will start rusting causing unsightly brown patches.

    • @AlabamaTree
      @AlabamaTree 2 роки тому

      Stainless fixings will react with the steel floor so would need some additional product to stop this happening.

    Thank you for posting these excellent videos. Everything you have posted so far is what we are planning to do. We have been researching and planning for many months and bought our 2017 L3H2 Boxer a month ago. Now trying to resource materials and essential items. Why is there no decent outlet in the South West? We had delivery of our Solway rear passenger seat this week. We are not far from you, so interested to know where you will get the gas system signed off.

      Thanks for you're comments. have not thought yet about the signing off part. I have a deep distrust of all tradesmen as been ripped off so many times so will be looking very carefully at options on that.

    Great informative videos, thanks. Just a random question, but you called some of the gas tank fittings P Clips. Is your background by any chance aircraft?

    • @wiltshirecustomcamper7203
      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203  6 днів тому +1

      Thanks for the question and for watching. to answer your question: no not at all and if I remember, on the autogas website they were called P clips, hence where the terminology came from! I am guessing because they are shaped like a letter P?

    Is this just the same as having a bottle in your van 🚐? And can u fill up at petrol stations ? Is it cheaper

    • @wiltshirecustomcamper7203
      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203  3 роки тому +5

      I went for the underslung tank as it saves on valuable space inside the van and the gas is a fraction of the price of a refillable bottle. another reason important for us is that we intend next year to go to Europe travelling and know that gas bottles are different in different countries with different fitments so trying to replace bottles as we go would get very complicated and messy.

    Hiya. I'm just about to start a conversion of a L4H2 Boxer and have come across your videos.....i think they are going to become very usefule over the coming months so thanks in advance for that! :) Ive received my LPG tank and about to start fitting. Would you mind if i ask how did you get on with signing off your LPG tank and who needed to sign of the installation for your insurance to be ok with it? Thanks, Paul

      Thanks for your kind comment. water tanks arrived and now fitted. there are essentially 2 suppliers in the UK, Barratt Tanks and CAK Tanks. The general consensus is that Barratt are by far the better made and better customer service but they unfortunately could not supply until Nov as so busy so CAK it was. they did arrive, 3 weeks behind schedule and with no contact or courtesy update calls at all from CAK. they seem OK albeit a bit flimsy perhaps and the brackets fit where they touch and need painting but at the end of the day, they did arrive and are now fitted so one job ticked off the list. i went for the 'package' they do for L4 ducato vans but be aware the supplied pipes will NOT be long enough so order extra at the same time. i needed 3m of the big blue 'fill pipe' and 2m/3m each of the blue and grey drain pipes. they supply 1m of each in the kit and the drain taps are awful and you will want to upgrade these as well. hope that helps.

    Hi there,
    I’m just on to my lpg system now. Trying to get my head around the gauge (electrics is not my forte). What cable did you use for gauge and did earth the black cable like instructed in the manual?
    Thankyou

    • @wiltshirecustomcamper7203
      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203  Рік тому

      hi, yes i did earth the black cable and if I recall, I used a 1.5mm cable to connect the gauge. hope that helps, although I do recall that Autogas 2000 where I got mine included some very useful instructions for it all, is yours the same?

    • @wiltshirecustomcamper7203
      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203  2 роки тому

      I ordered 3m from Autogas with the tank and that was enough. thanks. Top tip would be to make the bends before starting to attach to the van as is 'kinks' so easily, i really do mean that, a hard stare will kink it! so measure carefully and make the bends first.

    Loving your videos. Is the 25 litre tank the biggest that would fit?

    • @wiltshirecustomcamper7203
      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203  2 роки тому +1

      No, you could go larger I think but this seemed a good balance between 'size/cost/availability' at the time. hope that helps although in van number 2 I am definitely going no LPG! now Lithium is getting much cheaper I would go with more battery and induction cooking and diesel heater.

    • @AlabamaTree
      @AlabamaTree 2 роки тому

      @@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 ….the issue with that for me would be being able to get the batteries charged while off grid in the winter months (and I like to cook with gas 😋) a lot more solar would be needed and a big B2B charger. I guess you would be going with an electric water heater too?

    • @Polibon59
      @Polibon59 Рік тому

      @@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 Modern vans do strange things with their diesel tanks which means if you tap a feed from them to your diesel heater it can upset the engine running (several threads on forums about this). So you need to fit a second diesel tank, possibly one inside the van - not a great option. And you can't beat gas to cook on.
