Once again VERY nice work. Saw an interview with Mike Beinhorn and he said Cornell was afraid to put out this song because he was afraid fans wouldn't think it sounded like Soundgarden. They weren't my favorite of the big 4 Seattle bands but that album and this song in my opinion was the pinnacle of what those bands collectively were building to. What a great time to be 19.
J Fiery thanks J! You’re welcome mate, it’s such an amazing tune. I know why you mean, I only started listening to Soundgarden recently and they’ve got some absolute banging tunes 🤘😀
Dr. Cm you’re welcome! I do try to get requests but I’ve got a backlog to get through, I’m sure I’ll get to them all eventually. Feel free to come join us at Patreon if you can’t wait tho! 🤘
@@themaczter9024 I figured out how to play "Flower" a long time ago. The only problem was in the intro riff, because many people play it with hammer-ons and alternate picking, but Kim plays it with downstrokes, without hammer-ons.
Super nice breakdown...that's some quality work there and not a particularly easy song to tackle as the tuning is kind of Soundgarden-customized tuning, aside from the Drop D, they are tuned up like a 1/2 step on the recording. The one difference I had in playing from what you have is in the first part of the chorus, I'm playing it 5-5-5 to 3-3-3 (Wash away the rain...) on the walk down from the 5th to the 3rd frets to the b flat on the first section of chorus, as opposed to 3-0-0 that you have going...would love to hear what anyone thinks on that. I saw this and did go for 3-0-0 that is here, but to me the way I have it sounds right to me. Excellent job, not trying to be troll-y or anything, it's a great breakdown. I hope I'm making sense in conveying what I'm hearing...
I was fortunate enough to be a high school kid when all of this great music was coming out of Seattle. I love your full guitar covers. Do you have plans to do a full version of this one?
Bryan Lawson hey Bryan thanks for your kind words! Yes I’ll be doing a cover for this one, have a few planned so bear with me. Lots of fun stuff to come! 😊🤘
adamaze not sure on that pedal mate but you’ll need a rotary or tremolo setting that may get you close. Doing a lesson on how to get various sounds soon so stay tuned!
I tend to retune a lot :-) I have one guitar tuned to 1/2 step down for AIC stuff, one in C std for QOTSA/Slipknot and everything else in E std so anything not in those tunings I'm retuning basically

Good lesson! Definitely a song you want to have your intonation in check for.

Greetings. Do you keep your guitars in the alternative tuning permanently. Or do you tune and retune continuously.
