That is a handsome car, the white suits it well. Engine bay so clean. The alloys are good for an everyday driver; the wheel covers give the body some pizazz and style. Had to laugh because I have vacuumed cars throughout my life, but never watched a video of someone else vacuuming a car. (lol) Previous owner must have loved that Benz.
i have a w114 coupe with Barock, but recently bought some steel wheels and hub caps as i think it makes the car look more classic even with the added weight.
Yes this color combo is best... reminds me of my father’s old car... his was a pre facelift version... despite its age, your is in fantastic condition...:)
videos. Of them are awesome, whether it is hubcaps or the alloys they are both nice, depending if you are in an elegant mood the hubcaps are nice, especially with the painted center, if you are in a sports mood those alloys are nice since it is factory equipment
Thanks for commenting Bobexus! Interesting, I have never seen them on a W201. You'll need a set of 15 inch then? Hard to find, but not impossible. From a lang or T version. Let me know how it works out! Greetings /Peter
Hub caps looking good on the lovely car ! But if you change your mind I like to but the hub caps on my 1970 -250c good video looking for the next video thank you Peter
@@Pexyz My big concern at this time is getting a good set of tires since Michelin and a number of good tire brands are no longer making 14" tires. Even if you spend over $1200 dollars for a size 16" rim tire manufactures are squeezing out the smaller wheel sizes. So, even if you getting a bigger rim how much longer will it be before they do that with even a 15" or 16" wheel.
Peter now I am whatch your video again, and I like to say the alloys looks very good on a w114 coupe also on your w115 but the steel hubcaps are more original on a w114-115 4door sedan, btway now I look closer I think that I see a w114-115 model serie 1 in the garage, I also like to say have a lot of fun with the beauty's also with the volvo Amazon! and that is also a beauty!!!
Unpopular opinion, but I think the alloys are looking better, and I think they also are absolutely 'period correct'. The 14' alloys were a really popular mod, they add a more dynamic look, and are lighter, so nothing wrong with it. Even if it was not a factory option for w115 (I am not sure), if mercedes had a 'sport' variant for this car, they would absolutely use these rims. In my opinion, this would be a must have mod for a 280 or 250, not sure if they make sense for a 200. Use the steel rims and hubcaps only if 'keeping it stock' is your priority
@@Pexyz I found some old Mercedes catalogs in classiccarcatalogue and I found some photos of barock alloy rims on /8 e.g a 69 w114 sedan or a 73 280CE, so it is definitely period-correct. To be fair it might have been an option for the sportier 6cyl models, but who knows, maybe it was available for w115 too. I wouldn't worry anyway, the alloys look better on any /8.
I forget something my favorit car of all cars in the car history since 1886 is the Mercedes-Benz w115 serie 1 year of build 1971 200 automatic on the floor color code 050 broken white blue inside a lot of memorys your Mercedes-Benz is the w115 2 serie first year of build 1973 until 1976 and its a beauty a steel jewel!!!!!

I think the hubcaps would suit this car very well.
Okay! Thanks Kristof 👍
Agreed go with the OEM hubcaps. The waffle
wheels look better on a 116 from that era not a 114 or 115.
@@trpggames2162 Okay, thanks for your input 👍 I'll probably change to hub caps. //Peter
Hub caps definitely

Hi peter , The hub caps suits your car perfectly, in my opinion the alloy rims suits the w123 and w116 more.
And great video as always.

The alloys make it look a bit sporty I think
Yes, I agree
they are both nice, you can have one month alloys , and another steel wheels. But are those original forged Mercedes/Fuchs ?
Thanks Konzolka! Yes they are original. Greetings from Peter
most important thing is weight, steel wheels 14" orig. MB- W115 weigh (without tyre) 7,15 kg. How much they weigh Fuchs 14" , with tyre??
