I'm here because of Yuzuru Hanyus Ice Story - Echoes of Life. What a spectacle. This piece of music really added something special to it. 💙 This athlete is absolutely mindblowing in interpreting this aetherial futuristic piece wth how is this still figure skating. 🤯
People are just seeing the name Aoki. But not the whole picture. This is a movie theme idea, so probably they asked him to do it. or He produced as an inspiration and sent it to the Producers and got accepted. Tracks matches perfectly the sound, and momentum of action and suspense. Personally perfect track for this movie. btw, i loved the end because of the progression. Good Job Paramount Pictures!
I don't understand why people are so upset, of course, a remix of a song is gonna be different than the original...it's a remix. When someone remixes a song they remix it to have their own spin-off of the song, so yeah, of course, it's gonna be different from the original.
yee Ilooked for that remix because I heared bit's of it in a Cosplay Video and I've seen so much Remixes now, where they just added drum and Base... Well, it still sounded great, you can't let that song sound bad I guess, but I wanted especially this one because it just fits so well and is just on point.
I am absolutely fine if they managed to come up with something of their own after studying those classic sound tracks, what made me upset is the way they made this theme song of the film little more than a mashup of the soundtracks composed by Kenji Kawai. This in my opinion summed up the film in a way that they tried to satisfy the fans of the original film simply by paying tribute in an effort to evoke emotions, this worked on some of the fans, but not quite for me.
Take away the original song, forget it, then look at the movie and this song. This works perfectly with the theme they are going. I love the look of this film, even tho as a fan of the anime I think it's not kept with the anime as much as it could. I'm still gonna watch it because it's just an adaptation, and it looks beautiful.
I agree with you in a lot of what you say but nope this doesn't sound cyber punk at all to me. Its almost tribal and then the dubstep crap kicks in. Which part make you think of a distopian future? Or anything cyberpunk? I'm sorry but I don't feel it in the slightest. The soft parts make me think of africa and then like i said the the dubstep/ electro part which is just modern. No I dont think this fits the bill at all. Do you honestly? As you say cyberpunk isn't really a genre of music. Here's some examples of what i feel could be classed as cyberpunk. This makes me think of a cyberpunk futuristic setting. soundcloud.com/the-cityhunter/la-nuit soundcloud.com/mark-r-3/exosphere soundcloud.com/mark-r-3/the-sky-comes-alive-with-fire-and-war
the original one and this Mr. Steve Aoki remixed is two entire different thing, both had to be done and made to stick closely to either the original GITS or the 2017 live action Film, imho this one does a great job for the live action film version, **applause
when you remix you put your own spin on the original song, of course, the remix is gonna sound different! Why ppl be so saltyyyyy...but i rlly enjoyed this track as well as u
Man I love this version even more than I love the original, and I love that noise! Whatever the live action version got wrong from the source material, music and visuals were not it. This album is INSANE.
So I love the original GITS. And this is a fucking excellent remix. "Oh no, they changed the song a bit, its not the same as the original" That's why its called a remix. If anything, needs MORE drum and bass.
Not like the old BUT I still LOVE this! Why? Because it's NEW/NOW... Can't wait for this movie! My brothers got me into the anime series and now that my one brother has passed I will see this in memoriam of him!
I'd like to believe i've been a pretty die hard fan of Ghost In The Shell, and considering i don't care much for Aoki as is, i didn't think this remix was all that bad. The only part, in my opinion, that i felt was wak, was when it got all bro-step at 1:35. Felt he could have done something better with that area. Just my opinion though.
Everything up to about 1:30 is actually quite good until it gets dubstepped. I feel like it would have been tonally much better if they'd maybe lowered the dubsteppy part and made it more subtle, then it worked much better imo.
Take out the dubstep part and you have an awesome remix of the original track. If it had kept the same sound and vibe as the first 90 seconds for the entirety of the song, this would've been perfect.
Its okay, not a bad dub mix.. Ghost in the Shell deserves something hauntingly beautiful in its OST score...The director is trying to show us a retro futuristic world, this track is neither retro nor futuristic..
Incriblemente espectacular, Aoki se lució con este Remix, justo en el clavo, le da la potencia y la licita que genera tanto la película como el Animé, en cun clima de explosiines, lucha, peleas y combates asesinos🔥🔥😌👌🏼👏🏼
I really like this remix, but apparently everyone here in the comment section disagrees. I guess the rest of you are music experts? Ignorance is bliss!!! lol
Personally, I want the original Kenji Kawai opening theme to play at the beginning of the movie. Specifically the one that Kenji did at the live performance that went with the Shelling clip. If that doesn't happen, then shit. I'll edit it in myself after it comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray.
I feel like if Steve Aoki did this remix before he went mainstream this would be a lot better. The intro and beginning sounded pretty solid but the drop felt forced. It sounded like paramount asked him to make it more Dubstep sounding so he squeezed some oscillated bass sounds in the middle of the track. all in all, it's not as bad as people are saying. The original song is great and really helps set the mood in the original GiTS and in Innocence. The original movies are a lot more philosophical and might take a few watches to really catch the subtle nuances while the motion picture film emphasizes the action and gun-play. That's why I don't think the original song would even work well with the live action movie as it is.
Love this! The original have a powerless meanless end of world feeling. I feel the hope in the remix and the love and power that writer wants to share with us.
I wish they had more violins playing the tune of the chanting like around 3:20, would have been so mesmerising. I never appreciated the rhythm of the original that much, but the drums and violins in this version enhance it in some way, the dubstep however is unfortunately, just noise.
No, you're not, if you where you would know that its a 1995 movie not 1996, with the 2nd version GITS 2.0 released in 2008 after the 2006 GITS Innocence lol.
the intro is good, but the rest is not that good, i think it could be better if there would be more mystic and maybe glitchy parts like in the 1st trailer with Enjoy the Silence remix which i found pretty good.
Apparently there's some outrage behind this remix. Fanboys get so bent outta shape. I like its venture into the unknown. I just wish that they make the vocals louder and clearer and synced the best to it more than making the vocals the backdrop. The vocals of that song are most definitely its best feature.
JC tv it wont. Kenji came back for a new version of "Making of a Cyborg" (a mix of the original and Innocence which I loved this idea) which will play during the shelling scene as a press event in Japan made clear by showing the scene as Kenji and band perform live as the scene plays.
holycowbatman10 that's odd. It's safe to assume the film is finished because yesterday was the world premiere in Japan. We won't know anything for another 2 weeks unless reviews come in saying so.
Its called a *REMIX* which means it won't be the same as the original song... So if you don't like the drop, I'd prefer you listen to jazz or something

I love the original from the movie, but holy shit this sounds awesome, perfect for the opening for a Ghost in the shell Game.
No matter how many times I listen to this, I'll get chills everytime!!!!!!
The original was amazing too, no doubt.
People are just seeing the name Aoki. But not the whole picture. oh my god... do you realise that every person has its own taste ? if you dont like just ignore it can you ?
but this song existed before the big film adaptation though...?
😐
yes in the original anime version of the movie adaptation!
shearch for ghost in the shell 1995 it is a classical.
Yeah that's why it feels soulless.

Plus it's Steve Aoki what did people expect a damn grand piano

i like it, simple
I love the drop. Just imagine a scene where Something is going super fast and its with this Track. That would be amazing
Take away the original song, forget it, then look at the movie and this song. This works perfectly with the theme they are going. I love the look of this film, even tho as a fan of the anime I think it's not kept with the anime as much as it could. Imo the movie was shit but yeah ,visuals and music ? I never turn that down
come for Yuzuru Hanyu's ice show!
the opening is a great tribute, what it does afterwards.....makes me go back to the original again!
love it, it sets the cyberpunk style of the movie perfectly
lmao you think this is cyber punk?
dude this song is not cyberpunk in the slightest
u do realize im talking about the movie not the song
sounded like you were talking about the song. I think Im not the only one who thought that. In that case nevermind carry on lol

This song brought me to tears in forty seconds flat. Holy shit dude, it sounds great.
the original one and this Mr. Steve Aoki remixed is two entire different thing, both had to be done and made to stick closely to either the original GITS or the 2017 live action Film, imho this one does a great job for the live action film version, **applause
it's perfect...... till 1:33
hahaha! totally agree
agree~~
That first part was an excellent companion piece to Kenji's theme, being happier and all. The rest.... f*ck.
nah that's when it gets awesome.
lol complextro step
such an underrated judging to this track...Haters gonna hate anyways..But i found this awesome

when the beat drops the it feels like an Indian village got attacked by aliens XD

1:22 this soft nostalgic note fit perfect :D awsome remix
So I love the original GITS. And this is a fucking excellent remix.
"Oh no, they changed the song a bit, its not the same as the original" That's why its called a remix.
If anything, needs MORE drum and bass.
Rowan Wills I really liked this remix for the most part. Just the blending of traditional and modern. Kinda like the theme of the movie.
Turning it into an horrendous dubstep doesnt qualify as "changed the song A BIT"
That's not DnB...
@@argusy3866 This ain't dubstep
Not like the old BUT I still LOVE this! Why? Because it's NEW/NOW... Can't wait for this movie! My brothers got me into the anime series and now that my one brother has passed I will see this in memoriam of him!
Jesus Christ this hits hard.
I don't know anything about ghost in the shell but this is a banger 👌👌

It's ok until 1:35 then it leaps into dying old fad of wubble. I think the remix should be more subtle.

Awesome remix, Steve Aoki.
this theme is literally hype. its probably gonna be the credits theme. and they will probably have the original version for the Shelling scene

The Shelling clip is actually the opening of the film bro, so they'll use the original one for that.

Reymart Dinglasa I want the Tricky song they released to be the credit song now
Nope, didnt happen. It only plays it in the credits.
My guess it was a last minute change to not alienate Americans.
I really love this remix. I own the original soundtracks on CD and have played them grey. I appropriate all versions.
The beginning up to 1:35 is good. I really like it but I don’t like how it went into this intense dubstep

Wish they could have had new stuff from Kenji Kawai in the movie, and some Yoko Kanno too.
