    If you are having issues like many to put the housing back in, then you should read the comments below where the tab has to go inside the back pipe at 10 o’clock and then turned to 12. Thanks for the video.

    I wish my dryer was this clean, I darn near took it all apart cleaning this thing up. All I started out doing was trying to check the heating element. Now to watch the video of how to put the belt back on. Thank you for making these!

    Great video, followed it to the T and it took minutes. A tip: at my local dealer it was $90, online it was $20.

    I was a little nervous tackling a "man" job, but your videos are very viewer friendly and I'm happy to say that my dryer is once again heating beautifully...and I got to break out my pink Craftsman tools:) Thanks for putting this together!

    Thank you! Helped me fix my dryer without blindly tearing the thing apart. Was able to wire weld the broken nichrome to finish the laundry when I was waiting for the replacement.

    Getting this thing back in is impossible!
    edit: in case anyone is like me and doesn't follow the literal directions of the nice man in the video. Insert the piece like he says, THEN plug the wires back in and attach the bottom piece - if you do the bottom piece and the wires first it's much much harder to get it back in at the angle required. GL fixing your dryers!

      "Only issue: little difficulty getting element housing lined up and turned back and locked back into the outlet." Understatement. This last step almost defeated me. Key thing - the part of the element housing that stick 'up' goes INSIDE the outlet. The rotate back in. Kept having it go over and couldn't understand why the bottom part didn't go over.

    After replacing the element, reattaching the heater housing box to the outlet duct assembly is giving me fits. Does the box fit INSIDE the hole in the back or OUTSIDE AND AROUND the piece in the back? I would think inside, but there is a tab sticking up right where you would expect it to fit inside the hole...it seems this is preventing the housing from inserting into the duct assembly. I hope you can advise what I might be doing wrong.

    • @dr.markevers8331
      @dr.markevers8331 5 років тому +3

      Matt Smith , you need to slide it in at an angle so the tab goes in first. Then turn it into place. It should fit inside no problem. I found it helped to have the wires disconnected first. After fighting it initially, turning it so the tab is at about 10 o’clock then angling it in allowed it to slide right into place. From there I turned it clockwise to line up to match the screw holes.

      Thanks for this most valuable information. Like you I mess with this housing for hours where I was unable to fit box inside the hole in the back of dryer. Like you suggested the TAB has to be on the inside where the tab goes in in and angle at about 10 o’clock and then turn clockwise to 12. Thanks so much again.

    I don't even know if I'll be able to find parts for my VERY old Whirlpool dryer! I brought it with me to Texas 22 yrs ago and it wasn't new at that time! It isn't putting out any heat all of a sudden. Can anyone tell me if I might be able to get parts (presumably a heater element) for it? Model LE5720XSN0, Serial MA0448890.

    Great video thank you! When I put the element housing back in I can't get the screw holes to line up on the bottom of the support bracket. The holes on the dryer bottom where the bracket was attached are about an inch back from the holes on the bracket. I thought maybe I didn't have the housing pushed back in far enough but that's not the case. Any ideas of what I may have done incorrectly? Could I just drill new holes through the metal underneath the bracket to attach the bracket?

    • @partselect
      @partselect  7 років тому

      I would suggest that the heater housing is not fully inserted into the outlet duct assembly. If the housing is not properly
      installed you may not get the proper air flow over the heating element which could result in the high limit thermostat tripping. You may wish to remove the tumbler to allow you better access to the heater housing during re-installation.

    Hello! Your Video's are so HELPFUL I was able to replace the Heating Element, both thermostats, thermal fuse as well! and YES, the Kenmore Dryer Model: 11063954100 worked for (3) loads of drying clothes! and now, it's back to NOT heating up again! I'm STUMPED! I flipped the indoor and outdoor circuits til I'm BLUE in the FACE! I just don't know what else to do! Should I think about replacing the "THERMISTOR", and "MOISTURE sensor BARS" or will a door dryer switch? I runs though but cold air help

    Wish Kitchenaid dryer was easy like that Whirlpool, The heating element in the kitchen aid is big, goes up under the top back section so the whole back thing needs to come apart. Do you have any suggestions. Maybe it is just my dryer is old, it came with the house.

    Thank you for this. Is it normal to smell burning the first time you run it after the repair? I cleared out a lot of lint, so there's plenty of dust floating around in there, so I'm hoping that's all it is.

    • @partselect
      @partselect  6 років тому

      Sorry to hear that, Trevor. My only suggestion would be to watch the video carefully and make sure that you have aligned the heater element the same way Steve has it in the video, before you rotate it into place. I hope this helps, and good luck with your repair!

    I have a Kenmore #11063942101 (w/ Moisture sensing) that recently stopped heating during timed dry and would only work on moisture sensing. Now it has stopped heating altogether even on that setting. I'd like to replace everything possible in the housing now (Element, HL Thermostat & cutoff fuse) while I have to take it apart and am wondering if you think that would be wise and a cure to the problem at hand.

    • @partselect
      @partselect  10 років тому

      One thing you could do before going out and replacing everything, is test it all and see if one of these parts in particular maybe the culprit. Here are a few How-To's on testing those parts:
