Can't wait to get this guy! G1 Thrust was my first transformer (because they didnt have Starscream). Great review Paul!
I'm not too fond of the coneheads' robot modes, but the plane modes are too freaking cool.
Dennis E VTOLS are noice.
Maybe the hinges on the rear wings is simply to prevent it from breaking. This look like something that could easily bend or be damaged if it was a single solid piece, in case of the figure dropping or being misshandled.
got him on my POL along with several other purchases and after Inferno and Grapple, i'm ready to slow my purchases down...it's getting too costly to be a collector, not to mention space limits....sigh

Really nice review thank you, beautiful golden eyes... Glad I passed on Ramjet. I'm torn between getting Thrust or Dirge now. I really like what I've seen of both.
thrust is my favorite seeker character, mostly because i think he has the coolest jet mode

*Nicely done Paul!* I'm loving these 4k videos u been doing this past month or so. Fantastic work! Im definitely going to get these conehead Jetrons. Unfortunately Im still paying for 3A Optimus, MP Inferno & ShMonsterarts Shin Gojira this month + I JUST paid out like 6bills for four Matty Filmation figs, Lion-O, that super rad die cast Age of Extinction Optimus Prime, MP Optimus Primal, & Shf Tony Stark so it might be a few weeks/months. It's really cool after all these years to see you put in so much work into these videos, it shows considerably. Also "subscibled" "be excellent to each other" lol ... noice!

The only thing I don't care for on Thrust is that gap between his head and body. Otherwise, I think he looks great.
Getting thrust this week and sunstorm have all the seekers now got skywarp last week have to get the other coneheads might get the bb7 ramjet like the colours

The Optibotimus drinking game, every time he says the words "people complain" you take a shot. In this fandom, you will be loaded by the end of one of his reviews. I think I like Thrust more then Ramjet and that snear they gave his face sculpt is real nice.
I don't think i said it too much in this particular video lol so i don't think the drinking game would be much fun here :P

G1 Thrust was never intended to have a 'conehead'. That's the incorrect way to transform him. The nosecone should be folded back as it was with the earlier Seekers. Just as it shows on the box art and instruction sheet.
KillerTonk He was one in the cartoon and that's what the point of the Masterpiece line is.
For the cartoon, however, artist Floro Dery gave Thrust, Durge, and Ramjet's animation models cone heads to help distinguish them from Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp.

I was lucky enough to get a ramjet without the swapped shoulder. I think they might of fixed that after they got complaints.
one thing i wanted to see if those huge wings on the legs affected articulation. other than that, spot on review and his look is growing on me. it's a pick for me. have a great weekend, Paul!
IF you're asking me if they interfere with the articulation, lol no not really. Just like all previous seekers, they can hinge out of the way

I got the Igear ones of these figures. I think they look slightly better, but still may pick these up.
so after Dirge is created the only jets they have not done so far are the light blue and purple rain makers right? they have Acid Storm and Sunstorm created in MP format.
eldruggedmonkey nobody like those guys. I'd find it pretty hard for them to sell more MP, $180 seekers that are just homaging some randies.

Likely no. The problem is, the distributors and retail chains don't want to buy the Masterpiece figures because the figures don't sell. They're not as popular as a lot of Transformers fans make them seem :( In the end the main body that Hasbro gets revenue from are the parents of young kids who are more likely to buy the cheaper figures than a 150$ collectors' piece. Hope they do get around to doing so, but likely not :(

It's funny though, I understand the reasoning, but it seems "most" MP's actually sell like crazy in the last several years. Mp-10 Optimus sold our before even hitting the shelves in most places and was near impossible to find in the wild.
Nearly the same results with other popular figs like Grimlock and Soundwave. There is definitely a market for them, ....when they pay attention to what fans actually want, and *price them fairly.*
Bastian Idk in my area masterpiece figures don't sell that fast, and most retailers here have just stopped ordering them due to low popularity. Probably just an outlier area, although it's almost urban here which makes it kind of strange why the masterpieces aren't getting purchased.

I guess it depends on where you're at then. Around here the good ones fly off the shelves. The only ones that don't are the weird re-paints that nobody wants.
It's too bad though because while I'd love to have all these, I struggle to justify paying Takara prices. But I usually grab them whenever Hasbro does their version.
My only complaint is the price of the seekers.
The real complaint people are having is the $180 price tag. Highway robbery
I really hope when MP Scourge is *eventually* released, he at least comes as a pair in-box for MP prices.

Although the masterpiece moulds are amazing, I would love to have some cone heads from an actual toy line from a show and such. We haven't had a single cone head since that breakaway repaint of thrust in 2010 if that can even count, other than that it's just the mess of the henkei/classics seekers

That thing in the nosecone is the refueling intake, I think, not a radar.

Luis Pena I agree the wings are where they should be the look is just about right shame about the nose cone at the back but I can live with that may even be able to fix that myself. All in all I give him a 8.5/10

What the NT and other letters on other masterpiece figures?
BumbleBeeXPro The NT presumably stands for Nosecone Thrust. As for the other letters, in the case of the MP-11 mold it's used to signify wich character it is, IE MP-11T is Thundercracker, while MP 11S is Skywarp.

It's so strange that we have MP's of virtually the entire Seeker Brigade, the many factions of Carbots and even "Targetmaster Inferno" aka Artfire is on his way, yet they haven't retooled MP Soundwave into Blaster yet???

I pre-ordered this and will have it in a few days. But really, if someone was concerned with quality and value over "official," the KBB ko that is coming out is less than half the price and very likely superior quality. We are honestly living in different times when a knock-off can be superior in quality to an original.
I cannot and will not support KO companies that simply copy something that is already made.
Even when they make improvements or add features? Don't you think it insulting to the fans that Takara is on their 5th release of this mold and yet has never done the simple fix (that one or two of these ko companies have done) to extend the tab at the back of the waist so that the torso actually pegs in as intended?

He actually looks better than I thought he would, but I still have some issues with the official MP Coneheads. I personally think they sacrificed too much in transformation and aesthetics by re-using the original seeker mold. I believe in order to do them right, keeping in line with MP quality and appearance, they should have had their own separate mold. For me, I'm waiting for the Toy World Conehead releases, if they end up matching the Seeker MP aesthetics then I'll be going with them. My biggest worry from what I've seen is they may have overly exaggerated their line work, we'll just have to wait and see... But, their price point is far more reasonable.

I am happy for G1 purists who like this toy, but those monstrous wings attached to the legs are the reason I would much prefer revised/upgraded versions of the coneheads...

I understand, but I also believe that things can evolve and still conserve their essence. Even old classics thrusts seems more aesthetically pleasing for me.

That's because the classics line is meant to be updated representations of them. MP figures aren't. They're meant to replicate how the original cartoons looked in action figure form.

As much as I love both Thrust and Dirge I'll wait for the third party releases. Not paying the 180 for these, don't care if they're "official." Takara can be so hit-or-miss. The Toyworld coneheads look so much more streamlined...

That's the silliest thing i've ever heard. As i've said time and time again...every single seeker in the past has been either a repaint or a repaint with some remolded parts. It's been like that since the 80s.
optibotimus I'm talking the MP seeker mold. I mean that it's getting stale at this point considering that you're paying $180 dollars for the same toy in different color and maybe some new bits and bobs.

Do you mean how many seeker characters from the show, or how many different seeker toys over the years? If you mean characters, there are six. Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Thrust, Dirge, and Ramjet.

+J. José Rivera Torres I don't think that would look too bad. As I said, in some animation, Thrust did have a darker colored face. But the majority of the time, it was lighter
another great review, but i will not be buying them at these prices. i think theybare overpriced compared to what your getting.

My problem with these MP Coneheads is their faces. I just hated the look their faces! Especially Ramjet's face sculpt. They're just too detailed for them to look good to me. I would've much preferred if they simplified the molding in that aspect.
Its a difficult balance, too simple=people complain, too detailed=people complain, I just like the fact they added personality rather than just giving us the same exact head 3 times
masterds64 that is a good thing in my book. Makes them look diverse in having different faces.
I just wish they applied that to the original trio, the mp-3 molds had changeable faces and each of the 3 had unique faces, since the mp11 they all became very...lifeless
