- Check out how high current affects two parallel power/ground wires when this Rockford Fosgate T2500bdCP is pushed to it's MAX!!

That was the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Right on.
Got one its my favorite amp I have ever owned
That's sick man can't wait to see some numbers! Your definitely will have to turn up the power supply! I have the t1500bdcp! And super impressed by it! I don't know if that t2500 is the constant power version or not but the cp definitely does more power at all ohm loads! Vs the non cp It's a beast
THAT IS SO EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm currently running the BDCP1500 and it's a beast. Not power hungry at all.
@The Amp Lab
You can get a Kyuritsu 300A current clamp to measure the current ;)
Darn you now I am going to have to try this! He he
NIce, how many current we are talking?
Maybe some crown, QSC, old mackie, or old peavey stuff would be cool, even tho it's pa stuff...
Have you ever ran a clamp on it certified? Last time we tested one it did right at rated 1ohm resistive. They only make a low of power clipped. Last I looked they where rated around 60%.
I will be doing certified and uncertified testing on it very soon. It did 3300W Dynamic no problem. And that was with low voltage. And that's before clipping.
Keep in mind because of the Constant power circuitry it may appear to be less efficient. Constant power limits power at 1-ohm.
WoW!!
That's why you don't want ur rca cables on the same side of your car
They would pull together if current was reversed. This is an old phenomenon. Use to happen when the old timey jumper cables were used. Not attched to each other. They would "dance". My pops use to tell me about those.
what's the max rms
Great exaple of electro magnetism.
the strange thing however, is they are pushing away from each other, not attracting.
rtkota5point9 Why is that strange? Magnetism repels and attracts.
I don't know. being one is + and one is - I just pictured them attracting instead of repelling.
Nice, what guage wires and how much current?
1/0 Gauge wire. not sure of the current draw
My T2500.1bd was pulling 315A and it was putting out 3147W RMS so I guess this should be in that range
wow thats fucking crazy!! lol
You need a clip on ammeter.
Bud those dynamic runs run into a soft clip or with cheap amps that go straight to square.. This isn't a cheap amp but you know what I mean. Any decent amp will gain 10% with a soft clip.
Which is exactly how most people run there amps daily. most tune to -5 or -10db overlap. which means they are going into a soft clip. Not only that but the AMM-1 will not register a number past clipping anyways. So its still valid.
Wow, *their not "there". I hate when people do that and there I go and do it. :)
go find a nice taught electric fence a you can hear the current ping down the wire.
Its that good or bad?
HAHA Good question.
pretty bad if you are still on 135 amp and under stock alternator.
All wires can do this..
audiioaddiict its a good thing? Its supposed to happen. EMFs and what not. Opposing magnetic fields. Thus they push each other.
Creating magnetic fields
Why dont you show fixing amps on here
You set at -10db because music hardly ever gets that high. You set at -5db if you always listen to bass heavy music. The dyno is registering distortion, look at the light on dynamic test. Also try to explain how amps like Audiopipe, and Belva somehow make 1000 watts over on dynamic than certified. It's reading a square wave.
Its reading distortion. But not clipping. Two different things. Clipping is distortion, but distortion is not necessarily clipping. The AMM-1 stops the measuring at clipping.
Did you ever confirm if it actually does 3000 watts? Certified not that dynamic soft clip BS
It probably won't do 3K certified. You will never ever see certified power in your vehicle playing music anyways. you're going to see Dynamic if anything. But no have not done further testing yet. Hopefully in about a week I will have it back on the Dyno and I will get real numbers.
@@TheAmpLab did u ever get it back on the dyno
cf mechanic go to Steve Meade @meade916 and watch him dyno the amp!
do some Mosconi amps, or JL HD amps or ArC audio SE amps or Zapco z amps good amps .. Most of the amps you test must be for SPL because there all garbage amps besides the Rockford which is okay.
These amps a current hogs. Very inefficient and you don't get anything for it. Huge waste of money
I disagree. They draw a lot of current, but anything dishing out 3000+ Watts is going to draw a lot of power. Even if it were 100% efficient it would be pulling over 200A.
Huh?
