I love the conquerors system, however there needs to be a collapse system in place for afterward. Empires rise and fall, but in the current version they just rise and keep rising
I agree, but I feel like conquerors are also getting too powerful too quickly, so that the smaller neighbors will inevitably get bullied and bigger empires not even standing a chance against them. If you’re unlucky, it can ruin the entire game. Had a multiplayer game where my friend played in Spain and I played in modern day Sudan. The Abassids splintered quickly and my friend even got the conqueror trait, so I figured this could become a fun game. Well, not for me. I quickly noticed that Tulunid/ Egypt, my neighbor in the north, also got the conqueror trait. Then later Kanem, a kingdom in central Africa, got the trait as well and slowly became my western neighbor too. That’s already terrible, but one of the last Abassids got the trait and slowly rebuilt the Abassid empire. So I was surrounded by three massive empires with ridiculous buffs, and I stood no chance against them. I had no way too expand, and when they tried to take land from me, I couldn’t do anything to defend myself. There was also a fifth conqueror in Mongolia, but he didn’t accomplish as much as the other three around me. I couldn’t do much for a couple of decades, until finally Tulunid broke into Egypt and Crete (for some reason), but Crete still kept that trait. The Abbasids broke into two, with the bigger kingdom luckily not staying a conqueror. I just wanna play the game man
It's hard to distinguish, but I think that the Papacy took Rome, so the Byzantines couldn't form it. But I've never properly played as the byzantines, only Italy and the HRE, so I'm not certain.

It's because the General Pol won't turn off inheritance of conquer trait. Once he does that it will not be so bad.
By far the best timelapse strategy game channel here
Thanks 😊
Malian france was pretty funny
I taugt that the AI would Restore Rome at the end

Honestly, seeing a Mongol Empire fail that spectacularly and that quickly is kinda stunning.
