Ima full time technician for chrysler but this still helped, i was gonna drop the whole cradle f that! gonna finish the job in the morningand hope for the best! i have an 01 sl2 and its great. btw My transmission did the exact same thing as yours and i have to say these things can just happen. i was cruising 65 on the highway and it just happened. my holeis much biggeri will post pics soon its insane
when I did my manual trans I just pulled everything, engine and all, out of the top, then did all the separating and such out of the car. another way ive seen it done is dropping out the subframe and using a lift. but if you're only DIY, and a lift isn't an option, this way works too.
@moparmaniac5 Yea tell me about it. I used my MTB helmet cam to shoot it. That this is waterproof and shock resistant, but the sound is bad. The nice thing is I can have my hands free!
hi shawn. nice vid. i have a question.. i am trying to find out if this previous car owner says rear seal is bad. i removed the driver side cv axel shaft and the seal is completely gone(just a metal cover no seal. would that cause the fluid to drain through the inspection cover? thanks
I just bought my first Saturn, a 1999 Sc2 5 speed, in April, and I've got to say, I really enjoy working on it. {the fact that it only had 39K miles on it really helps} It needed a bit of work, nothing major, mostly bolt on stuff, But it is so easy to work on. I was quite amazed I could remove "both" door panels to replace the window regulator, made it so easy. Next, I have to replace a wheel stud on the right front. It can't be that hard right? Thanks. P.S. how long should the clutch last with normal driving? Just wondering.
Will a 98 chevy 1500 transmission fit in a 95 chevy astro van? I'm getting rid of my 98 chevy 1500 because its a 3 seater and I have 6 kids so theirs no use for it anymore. But it still has a good transmission. My chevy astro needs a transmission so I was wondering If I can use that transmission and put it in my 95 chevy astro van and will it run like it should with no problems?
I have a 2001 Saturn sl1 1.9 soch 5 speed lot of miles but has title I just got a 2002 Saturn sl1 dohc with automatic transmission less miles no title I want to take the 2002 dohc motor and put it in the 2001 but... I was wondering will it the dohc bolt up to the 5 speed transmission in the 2001??
