@@lonedolo644 this is China not Japan. And yes If it's an Asian setting is very likely to take place in Japan rather than China. The only recent China based sort of high production AAA game lately is Wo Long. Dynasty Warriors doesn't count its basically the same game over and over again lol
@@doubtfuldrawingThe only new game here set in China is Wo Long, dynasty warriors is just a copy paste of its predecessors, nothing new to offer and pretty much the only popular IP when it comes to ancient China. Japan yes is very overused in games.
Stunning visuals and gameplay. As a Dynasty Warriors fan i've instantly become a fan of this and I wish it gets released on PS5 and not just PC...

I have feeling that multiple assets are "borrowed" from the Ghost.
A bit too many simularities.
However in terms of gameplay things do look different.
same game engine....all those grass are from same library, no developer write the "grass" code from scratch
That grass is pampas grass. It's not supposed to look different in different games. It's just grass.
It's just grass. The grass after that scene is the grass from the intro of Sekiro. That's just what that grass looks like. It's like saying the grass here in Amsterdam looks like the grass out there in New York.

Anyone else feel this is all too good to be true ? I don't know, maybe that whole "day before" nonsense, alongwith a few bad examples in recent years, has made me a bit skeptical. Makes me think they might be promising more than what they can deliver. Hope I'm wrong though, cuz this looks stunning !

What you mean bad examples? There are loads of succesful chinese games of recent years, that put actual worth in its money, for example Sword and Fairy was a huge international hit, also Naraka Bladepoint and not forgetting to mention Genshin. And also the release date of Wukong Black Myth is real.
@sophonblock76 i mean bad examples of a lot of promise being made in a trailer but the end product is underwhelming or straight up bad. I literally mentioned the day before as one example. Cyberpunk at the time of release was a mess as well. Forspoken, COD, redfall, payday 3 were all much, much less convincing than what was originally promised. Until I see this game in action, I'll be wary of being too optimistic. Cuz what I'm seeing here is actuality quite good.

Ah yes, this game looks so good. Love how mobile the character is and how he's able to parkour great heights as opposed to the usual parkouring restrictions of other games.
Was about to say this was on my wishlist until they said will be released for PC.

Let's hope they can manage to add good gameplay to this visual feast.

in Europe and USA really can't tell the difference beetwen wuxia genre and japan stuff? It on some many levels different things.
@@Padrino_Tommy its called weeb, they just wanna be ... they don't even know Chinese and Japanese are 2 different cultures but share some of the history, any time they see an Asian sword man with a big straw hat , only thing in their mind is OHH Samurai , they can't even tell the different between Nodachi, katana, and tanto, and obviously don't even know the ninjato exist.
It's like Ghost of Tsushima with Ninja Gaiden gameplay.

Gameplaywise this game looks somewhat similar to Crimson Desert, although I have a gut feeling that this one might turn out to be a better game overall when both become available.

This seems to take heavy inspiration from Ghost of Tsushima and I'm so fucking glad they did, because it's criminal how underused that style of graphics are, this just OOZES that unique direction and I love it

Not really, wuxia games play a whole lot different to samurai games. If you're referring to the vibe and atmosphere then you could also say they're both witcher 3 clones. A lot of people don't know that in ancient times the Japanese were once Chinese, where a lot of their cultures(temples, calligraphy, buddhism, kanji etc) were heavily influenced, hence the similarities, but despite that there are distinct differences unique to both cultures.
@@gsq4336 First of all, Japanese people were not "once Chinese". Their culture may have been heavily influenced by Chinese culture through trade and travelers, but they are different cultures and people. Second, Its not just the themes or design or gameplay which is like Ghost of Tsushima. Its the entire word design. Entire assets seem ripped directly from it, entire areas look exactly like they do in GOT. And for that matter, yeah, even Ghost of Tsushima took heavily from Ubisoft's design policy (albeit with better polish and some unique designs), so much so, that people often call it the Assassin's Creed Japan that Ubisoft should have made.

They look very different if you’re familiar with Chinese and Japanese culture. Japan took inspiration from Tang China so that might be where the aesthetic similarity comes from. But there are still recognizable differences
Visuals continue to look impressive, but this video is largely previous trailers, with some new snippets spliced in (mostly in the beginning), and the whole thing is cut in such a way that it doesn't look like a gameplay slice.
I certainly want the game to be good, but compared to so many other Chinese projects that showed prolonged gameplay slices, this one still feels like it's trying too hard with advertising.
I certainly hope to be wrong, because if the final product plays as well as this looks, it should be something pretty special.
did you see those weird camera pans that have the entire background shifting like some theatre decoration/inception dream thing? its hard to place what it exactly is, but rendering does not work that way.

Gameplay itself some bits are not real, and actual real bits look like test footages.
The amount of cutscenes I see in this game feels like a TV series instead of actual game.

Stop spreading misinformation on this game they've already said it's coming out on ALL platforms and it's not even a MMO it's a action rpg do some research everstone is very vocal on everything they're doing even said they were working on their console version almost a year ago in a article and on their weibo page which u can find on their website the only reason people think it's gonna be a Playstation exclusive is because the test showed a Playstation port for testing but it has xbox because the yellow bell test allowed console controllers and they were testing things out its not that hard to research.

@@user-by1rc8rr5v I can see the skepticism and this has been true for many Chinese games recently but it was literally just announced a couple months ago and black myth has shown detailed gameplay for around 2 years and now has a release date, so I feel like for that one we are alright and for this one there’s no reason to be skeptical until at least a year passes
