- Support your local grocery or farm shop by shopping there - support the environment by travelling to and from the store on an E-bike. @duncshaw finds out just how easy that is! Oh, and don't forget to use a pannier bag, so there is no need for a plastic bag!
Looks like a zippy little commuter that.. Flying to the shops 😜
I have this bike and I absolutely love it, but this video with Duncan convinced me. I just think that saying it is a grocery bike is a bit reductive to what this bike can do.
A really fair point! its definitely a great all round bike!
I checked your channel. You should do a video on it! I only see the Rad mini :(
@@maksymvinyarskyy2813 Yes I should, I cant say when but it would be a good idea. I am approaching 10000 Km soon and after trying many electric bike of all kind and owing 4 electric bike this one is my favourite to ride.
@@CajournoOddity Awesome! 10,000 is a lot 😯
@@maksymvinyarskyy2813 yes, a lot of fun I would say ☺️
I've just bought the new marin sausalito e2 with shimano e6 series 3 motor, it's so powerfull
Excellent!
Toying with the idea of getting one myself.. how are you finding it? Is the assistance good going up hills?
@@richardreed5548 I've bought in Indonesia
Very good for uphill
Dear Marin I purchased this bike back in 2022 but was unable to use it remained in the box. I’ve recovered this year and finally am using it. Absolutely amazing piece of kit. I’ve even downloaded the app Shimano to update firmware.
May I ask can I get a service manual for this bike so I can find out the maintenance etc. love your Chanel, I’m 64 now and still have my Marin Palisades trail from when I used to go on trails I think I purchased The palisades in the 80’s sometime.
Can you help with the service book for the Sausalito 2 please
Hi, awesome to hear you are out using it and loving it. You can find the manual here www.marinbikes.com/ww/support
This bike is fabulous for me however when I connect to the shimano app I can download any firmware updates but you can’t change any motor user programs apart from Normal to sportive that gives the motor more power. Pointless having the app if you’re t won’t do all the menu examples
Nice bike. I have decided to buy this one in the UK but most of them don't have this bike. Do you have any production issues ?
We have stock in the UK, please have your local dealer contact us with your size requirements
@@marin_bikes Cheers! Thanks. Will do so
Are there any large 2024 models in the UK? None of the dealers around my way seem to have them 😕
Please hit up uk-enquiries@marinbikes.com - they will be able to point you in the right direction
@@marin_bikes I did a few days ago but have had no response.
@@richardreed5548 sorry about that, we will ask them to check and follow up. Dean Forest cycles is usually a safe bet for Sausalito bikes
How was it going up hills, was the assistance helpful?
It’s awesome! Don’t get me wrong, you still need to put a bit of work in yourself but Is significantly easier (and faster)
is Marin going to make any accessories for it? I'm looking at this bike or the letric. Leaning towards letric since they have all the accessories and from what i've found, Marin has 0.
Hi Will - One of the beautiful things about the Sausalito (and most Marin bikes for that matter), is that we take personalization and customization seriously, and that we include multiple gear mounts on our models. Combining that with a broad range of standardized aftermarket accessories available from your local bike shop means that you can add racks, fenders, bags, lighting, etc. from a number of different suppliers. You're not stuck with the options that we could make.
@@marin_bikes are there any specific brands that work best with your bikes?
@@willc2426 We have used and liked a number of different brands in each category, but some that spring to mind are as follows. Fenders: SKS, Portland Design Works, Planet Bike. Racks: Tubus, Portland Design Works, Planet Bike. Lights: Light & Motion. Bells: Spurcycle. Most of these items are standardized (as is our Sausalito series - nothing funky going on that'd require bespoke accessories), and there are a ton of different options out there.
@@marin_bikes thank you for the quick reply and information!
@@marin_bikes last question for now...i'm about to move to hawaii. Is the battery section water proof/resistant?
Are Marin going to make a trials bike?????
Watch this space ;)
i need the bike same like this one there only 1 in the shop in Manchester any
sugestions in diferite places i can get this bike or do you sell yours?
Hi S!CK - this is from our Manchester-based rep: "If Pure Electric in Manchester doesnt have what they need I would suggest this customer contacts either Winstanleys or Leeds Urban Bike Park as both are close to Manchester and have recently had Sausalitos delivered." Hope this helps!
@@marin_bikes Thank you
What kind of rack and bags are those?
Both from Topeak:
Explorer Disc rack: www.topeak.com/global/en/products/247-MTB-&-Touring-Racks/146-EXPLORER-(DISC)-(W-O-SPRING)
MTX Trunk Dry Bag: www.topeak.com/us/en/products/192-Rear-Rack-Bags/638-MTX-TRUNK-DRYBAG
I have a brand new Marin Sausalito e-bike and charged the battery but it won’t slide into the battery slot and engage. It goes in halfway but does not click in. Is there anybody that can give me advice please?
Hi Lynne - your best bet is to hit up the shop that sold you the bike, either in person or via the phone. The two Marin staffers who work the UA-cam account are both on holiday at the moment and can't run back to our respective shops to check out the bike first hand and offer advice here. You can also email customer.service@marinbikes.com
How much does e2 weigh?
Hi Deborah - it depends on the frame size and style (standard or "ST" [step through]), but right around 46# or 21kg.
What size is it?
this is a large
