      We strongly suggest you work with your local Marin dealer to get your name on a list. There is very high demand for the Alpine Trail E models. Cheers!

    @Marin Bikes - I have have one of these on order in a size L (coming to New Zealand in June apparently). I'm 180cm and around 68kg (so tall 'ish and light 'ish). Would you recommend I swap the 450LB/IN coil spring out for a 350LB/IN or a 400LB/IN spring?

    • @marin_bikes
      @marin_bikes  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, the 350# spring should be better suited to your weight. See our suspension setup chart here: s3.amazonaws.com/marin-bikes-biz-production1/documents/documents/000/003/973/original/uploads_2F1618522111592-x9wqn3d85m-cdcc318f51bec8bc35d246078405fa1c_2F2022_MARIN_Rear_Suspension_Setup_Chart_v1.pdf?1618522137 Enjoy!

    Most all the local Marin dealers around me in TX have no info regarding the e2 and aren't comfortable pre-selling, which I can def respect. Those that do aren't exactly the type of shop one would feel comfortable paying $6000 to in hopes that they will be around in 6-8 months.

      These bikes have seen huge demand; but we assure you that if your local dealer talks to our sales team, we can give them accurate information on when they can get stock.

    Hey I find uphill switchbacks on my ebike can be a problem. Especially in trail mode. I’m trying to maintain a really smooth pedal stroke but if there’s something difficult mid corner I find I either understeer off or the front wheel lifts and I stall. Got any thoughts? Also while you’re at it can you do a video on getting the back wheel up when the weight of the ebike wants to keep it down? Is there a different technique for an ebike or is it just the same but more?? I know you’re a trials rider so easy for you - but for us mere mortals! Thanks 👍

      Hey Gavin. Yeah switchbacks can be tough. I would tend to go quite wide with the front wheel and then cut it right last minute with the Back wheel. So if there’s a berm, let the front wheel go wide and keep your back slightly lower / bottom of the berm. There might be a bit of a dead spot in terms of momentum so you just have to make a real conscious effort to get the power down. If it’s a climb you do regularly you could learn how to make sure your pedals are at the right position at that point where you need to get power by working back and knowing that your pedals need to be at a certain position so when you do get to the exit your strong foot is just at the top of the pedal cycle ready for power to be put down and taking you out up out the corner for the rest of the Climb.
      Cheers for the suggestion of the back wheel. Will see what I can do.
      Duncan
