Brad Mondo creating and praising hair that looks (nearly) like mine has when I forget to brush it... after years of hearing people tell me my hair 'looks frizzy' or 'messy' or 'brush your hair' or 'use a straightener' is very validating in a way I didn't know I needed.
Don't we love when what we have naturally comes into style and everyone is trying to look like us for a while? The only problem I had, before layer cutting was my only cut, was the "triangle" look from the ends poofing after brushing. My hair would tangle easily when it was long so brushing was critical.
Same, except I am kind of forced to brush my hair out because it looks to stringy if I don’t, but when I did brush it out it turns into a frizzy mess! So I can never win! But thanks to Brad’s comments, I makes me feel as though my hair is pretty naturally! ❤️
I never bought a tool like that because I didn't like the super crispy crimp look. BUT THIS... oh buddy I'm glad my birthday is Monday, because I know what I want to buy for myself hehe 🤩 I'm so excited to follow this tutorial and have mermaid hair 💖
This honestly makes me feel so much better about my natural hair texture! I have waves/loose curles that range from 2A-3A because my hair is very long with lots of layers (it covers my butt lol). But without any styling, I can brush my hair and run my fingers through it with a little oil, and it just has the natural "beach wave" pattern to it! I used to hate my hair but now I've learned to embrace it. It makes me so happy to see people desiring looser curls/waves bc I always thought they were just "meh" since everyone used to straighten them. Ive come to realize that all hair is equally beautiful, including mine :) Thank you Brad! xx
My hair looks like this, too, and I rarely go out without someone saying they love my waves. Ironic since I spent years blowing it straight due to a conservative job, but now I've grown it past my bra strap and let it be wild and free!
Tbh I never dye my hair or really do anything with it except hair care. But I still always watch Brads videos cause they are so relaxing for some reason.

I love this tool. Although I do mine a little different. I alternate how the wave falls every section. One section I have the plate facing me, the next section I turn the plate away from me. It alternates your waves so they aren't all the same direction. I feel this really helps make it look more natural and less like you used a wave crimper.

Brad, Ive been a licensed hair dresser for a little over 34 years and I love watching your channel, I learn something new every time! Its always so much fun. And I happen to have twin boys too, so much love to you!
I have had my waving iron since the early 90s! It's the greatest thing since sliced bread and still works beautifully! I'm happy to know I've been using it correctly all these years! Fun fact: I also still have my crimping iron!
My mom still had her crimper from the 80s! til about 6 or 7 years ago and she threw it away. I wasn't too happy with her decision and would've gladly took it had I known she was gonna get rid of it. I had fond memories of crimping my hair as a 9/10 year old little girl. I told her 'you never know, it may come back in style' and now look! It's in style and I could've had a perfectly fine working legit 80s crimper! 😂
Oh babyyyyy have I ever used one! Love love love a triple barrel waver, bar none most useful hair tool I used to own! I wasn’t going for waves though lol, I’m a 90s 💁🏾♀️ girl and used mine exclusively for crisp, defined crimps - with the deep side part and swoop bang 🙌🏾🔥 suchhhhh a look, couldn’t tell me SHAT! I’ve had this waving hair iron for a year or so and used it once because i didn’t like the way it made my hair look, after this video they look amazing! Def a 10/10 technique!
The fact that I want this tool so that my hair looks more “put together” than my natural hair pattern, then Brad Mondo’s tutorial makes it look similar to what I already have hahaa it’s validating
wow this takes me back to 2007-2011 when I used this crimper ALL THE TIME, never knew all of these tricks back then but this video makes me want to get one again!
I have been using wavers since they started getting popular a few years ago. I was attracted to them because I have rheumatoid arthritis and it affects my elbows and wrists which makes it hard to do a lot of hair styles on myself. When I started using this tool it was life changing! I have naturally wavy hair but it's not cute wavy...it's a wreck. FR FR! But with this little doll of a tool....yall!! I keep my hair in a short messy bob...I use this waver every other day...it works so well in my hair and my hair holds the curl so well that all I do on day 2 is scrunch some oil through it and go! Love this thing!!
Same on the autoimmune joint problems. I have all sorts of stuff to try to help me do ANYTHING without full use of hands/arms... so now I just have to figure out if my super straight, stiff, coarse hair will hold this wave! Always a struggle (hairspray or no hairspray)
@@MB-xw1tu I use hairspray or it falls flat after an hour or two. I also put curl defining mousse in my hair while wet…once dry I use some oil to get any crunch out and as a heat protectant. After I curl I salt spray and give it a gentle tossle and hair spray
Ok, that crimpy wave is exactly what my hair always looks like naturally when I just let it air dry and I feel like it looks bad unless I straighten or curl it... Are you saying that my natural hair is FINALLY in style?!? Woohoo!!!
You guys should look into curly styling methods! Ever since I treat my hair like curly hair (bc let‘s be real - a wave is nothing else than a loose curl) my natural waves look soooo much better.
O wow this works. Used the vertical method and lifted the roots. Now I have the hair I was looking for. I gave up on the styler as it made me look like I put my finger in the plug socket. This is gamechanging!!!
Thank you for this vid! I have this waver and a larger one. I love them but hate the one-wave-across thing. Your tricks freaking solved my problems! Can’t wait to try them out! ❤️✂️
I hate using a curing iron as I kinda suck at it and it takes me forever. I usually just straighten my hair, but I think this could be a game changer! I can't wait to try this out! 😍 ❤️
I love this!! I want you to give us some more of these technique videos. My hair is the thick and slick type that it doesn't really hold curls and on top of that I have anxiety so I always sweat out almost any style 😅 I really need all the help I can get
Thanks Mr Mondo.😊 Such a brilliant channel. I have had so many lovely compliments on how lovely my hair looks. I tell people to check out your channel because your instructions are easy to follow and if followed properly anybody can have fabulous hair. I'm over fifty but Hey, I love the young, sassy styles. Gonna try these waves, can't wait to purchase this tool. I'll check out your hair products too! My daughter watches your channel too. She always cuts her own hair, it looks really good.👍
I have the bed head blue waver and cut my hair to my shoulders so I haven’t been able to use it much….. I used the twisting technique on my hair, GORGEOUS!!!! And super easy! Thank you!
I have natural wavy/curly hair. Wavy when my hair is shorter and curly when my hair is longer. I love some of the techniques you use for wavy/curly hair especially if the hair is frizzy and dry
I have one of this, that looks SICK!! 🤩🤩OMG! Now I know how to use it, mine been seating on my cupboard doing nothing for so long!Thank you Brad Mondo, you always amaze us!!!🥰😎😃
I love when you show how to make natural curls or natural waves and they look so gorgeous… And I’m sitting here with naturally curly hair thinking “What woman with natural curls or waves has hair that actually looks that good?!” 😂
Gorgeous waves decoded. Thanks Brad ! I'd love to see you vintage hair tools in a video for fun. My Great Grandma uses to use a vintage Victorian hair curler. It's like an old cast iron hand iron that you heat over a fire, or stove. Talk about dangerous beauty tools. She also used copper coils to create curls after dampening her hair, all non electrical beauty tools. Also some of the wacky sci-fi esq. Electrical beauty tools from the 60's. That would be cool to see and fun to watch you use the right way. I can't imagine going thru that for a hairstyle apparently it could create style that lasted up to a week, just using waxes pomade s and home mixed oils. No Aqua Net needed( hadn't been invented yet). 😊 Pin curls, rag curls, pink foam rollers. My favorite thing passed down to me was the amazing styles I could create with different designs, and Temps of hot rollers. Am I a dork? Heck yes! These tools can singe you locks off if used incorrectly. However when we learn how to use the they create some beautiful, fun, classic, vintage, and even funky results. She used to tell me beauty can be painful. You'll forget about the Inconvenience when you are happy with the results.. We have so many skilled stylists, modern tools, and hair elixirs and products today. Many women never had access to in earlier era's. Yet they produced iconic stunning results with what little they had.
Okay, I am sold! I agree that the way people have been using this tool looks so weird, but those waves are amazing! And so much less work then with a flat iron or curling iron.
You are such a talented person!!!!! Amazing ideas to make this tool to work! Nothing compared to what you see online with these horizontal lines. Well done Brad!
Cannot wait for my hair to grow back to being long enough to try these techniques!! Decided to try a pixie cut and now trying to grow it back to shoulder length
In my perspective I have naturally curly hair at the end of my hair and wavy for the rest so what I do for this is I straighten my hair and then use my waving hair iron love ur videos!! Keep being brad brad we all love your hair tips and your channel!♥️
THANK YOU! The reason I haven’t pulled the trigger on buying one of those irons is that I HATED the way TikTok made it look! Now, I will pull the trigger and buy one! Thanks Brad!
My hair is pretty much the same length and cut as the second one and i have natural 2B/2C waves/curls and i have been styling it purposely to get loose waves (closer to the 2B side) because i agree 100% it looks waaaay better that way on this length.
Bread you make it look so easy… What you need to do is wear a wig then do it. Because all of us at home have to use our own head… It looks much easier doing it to another head of hair… Let’s see your technique on your own head! It’s just not that easy 😭
I have the same crimper/ waver and it is my favorite thing to use on my hair, the waves turn out so pretty. I love it so much. I highly recommend getting one.
I was hoping ”short hair” would mean jaw lenght 😄 I was like, ”yes, show me how to do my hair!” Then he pulls out (imo) a long haired doll 😁 Both dolls looked amazing though! 😍 I never use my crimper (waver?) bc i never manage to make it look good, but im gonna give it another go! 🤩
Spray with a salt spray, twist a 1-2" section tight and spin into a cinnamon roll bun. Pin up. After all hair is up mist with hair spray, mist lightly with hair oil and take down after several hours.
My husband and I are going to a concert tomorrow so my hair will definitely be done like this. I went to a concert a month ago and I did it. Looked fabulous- my hair is much longer now so it’ll look 👀 even HOTTER ❣️🥰❣️
I recommend using a thick t shirt and the supplied heat protected glove when doing this on yourself if u r a bit clumsy like me. I've burnt my shoulder twice and my hand naturally burns for some reason when I'm using it
A little tip I’ve learned - make sure you’re not pulling your ends opposite the curve of the barrel as your working your way down with each clamp… because it has such a big metal plate, it creates a heat crease really easily if your pulling your ends the wrong direction, also if your heat is turned up high
Brad, I’ve done this same way you have done it my whole life. I have very fine hair and a lot of it. I’m so so so happy this is coming back into style!! I just turned 40 a couple days ago so it’s making me feel a little better!! I would love to send you some old photos if you can show me how!! Thankyou! ( I also have some extra tips and products I used to use!) Your my fave as always!!! Edit: this style is very forgiving on fried as uneven hair if your too scared to lose length even though you know it needs to be CUT!! Believe me! I went to hair school I know all this but when you have fine thin hair your length seems to engulf you!! Lol edit!! I was about to shut the video off before I was gonna add one of my tips and I heard you say it BRAD!! YES !! The sea salt spray!!! 😂😂😂 one of my favorite products In about 2000. YES!!!

love this I need one of these, at the moment I braid my hair but ends up straight on top and a bit frizzy waves i want that natural beachy wave. Thanks so much for the tips I am learning a lot and hoping to experiment with my hair a bit more 👍
Wrong video I know but as a dude with long hair I tried your wolf cut, in my head if I screw, it I’ll just cut it kind of short and if I succeed I will keep letting it grow, well my hairdresser won’t see me for a long time, thanks my man!!!
I love using this! The only downside is that mine is quite heavy and the outside gets hot too, so it's a bit difficult to use. But the curls are so soft and pretty and they last long
Love that shorter layered look with it almost makes me want to chop mine down. Gorgeous. Now if only I could get someone to do my top and back for me lol
I got my waver the other day and actually did the twisty thing without having seen it anywhere and when I tell you I felt like a level 30000 iq genius... So seeing it here made me feel even cooler cause my brain accidentally came up with the same technique that a pro recommends 😎
If you don’t wanna use heat but want waves you can braid your hair in like 5-6 braids and it will be wavy when it dries I used to go to sleep and do this and it would turn out cute!

Thanks Brad! I have waist length no layers. The weight as eliminated most of my natural wave. Always looking for ways to up my game!
Ok, that crimpy wave is exactly what my hair always looks like naturally when I just let it air dry and I feel like it looks bad unless I straighten or curl it... Are you saying that my natural hair is FINALLY in style?!? Woohoo!!!
I think your hair is always in style!
Right there with you with the weird in-between wavy hair and it's apparently totally coming back in style! Makes me so happy!
I thought the exact same 😂 I always felt like: it’s not straight enough or not curly enough ! Time to appreciate the wavy hair style 🔥
You guys should look into curly styling methods!
Ever since I treat my hair like curly hair (bc let‘s be real - a wave is nothing else than a loose curl) my natural waves look soooo much better.
Mine dries like this too, but it gets really frizzy so I usually straighten it or curl it 😅
I swear he’s making this ish up as he goes along. That was so random especially the rope braid at the end 😂
I loooove you Brad, you made my life easier and prettier! 😍😘
I hate using a curing iron as I kinda suck at it and it takes me forever. I usually just straighten my hair, but I think this could be a game changer! I can't wait to try this out! 😍 ❤️
Holy guacamole I’ve been doing it wrong! Thankyou Brad I was about to put my hair waver in the bin because I hated the weird uniform look I always get
I love this!! I want you to give us some more of these technique videos. My hair is the thick and slick type that it doesn't really hold curls and on top of that I have anxiety so I always sweat out almost any style 😅 I really need all the help I can get
Thanks Mr Mondo.😊
Such a brilliant channel.
🤩🤩OMG! Now I know how to use it, mine been seating on my cupboard doing nothing for so long!Thank you Brad Mondo, you always amaze us!!!🥰😎😃
This is how I do mine, hold the hair UP AND BOUNCE UP amazing technique brad! Love u so much!
I love when you show how to make natural curls or natural waves and they look so gorgeous… And I’m sitting here with naturally curly hair thinking “What woman with natural curls or waves has hair that actually looks that good?!” 😂
Your hair is giving me late 90’s boy band and I’m here for it
Gorgeous waves decoded.
Walked into a door at my new job, so same ❤️ I have curly wavy hair that doesn’t need any crimping whatsoever but I still thoroughly enjoyed this 👌🏻
Best waving video hands down. I always come back to this tutorial
You are such a talented person!!!!! Amazing ideas to make this tool to work! Nothing compared to what you see online with these horizontal lines. Well done Brad!
Holy - once again, Brad Mondo saved my life! Thank you so much for all these tipps 💖
Cannot wait for my hair to grow back to being long enough to try these techniques!! Decided to try a pixie cut and now trying to grow it back to shoulder length
I have this wavier & im so glad I watched this video! I found out I’m doing it right! But I also learned some stuff too! Thanks Brad
In my perspective I have naturally curly hair at the end of my hair and wavy for the rest so what I do for this is I straighten my hair and then use my waving hair iron love ur videos!! Keep being brad brad we all love your hair tips and your channel!♥️
I was literally thinking of giving mine away today. Thankfully I watched this video today! And Brad, I do watch your channel pretty much everyday ;)
I wear my hair like this everyday I never get tired of the look it’s my favorite
Okay I’ve used this tool for years and YOU ARE A GENIUS BRAD! Never once thought about any of these techniques 👏 much love ❤️
I was hoping ”short hair” would mean jaw lenght 😄 I was like, ”yes, show me how to do my hair!”
Then he pulls out (imo) a long haired doll 😁
Both dolls looked amazing though! 😍 I never use my crimper (waver?) bc i never manage to make it look good, but im gonna give it another go! 🤩
Me too!!!
Spray with a salt spray, twist a 1-2" section tight and spin into a cinnamon roll bun. Pin up. After all hair is up mist with hair spray, mist lightly with hair oil and take down after several hours.
@@TaltharaKaelthas Sounds good but i don’t have the patience 😅
This is the story of my life. Any time someone talks about styling short hair, it's always shoulder length.
@@Melissajscott Ikr! 😂😁😅 then what do i call really short hair? ”No hair”? 😂
My husband and I are going to a concert tomorrow so my hair will definitely be done like this. I went to a concert a month ago and I did it. Looked fabulous- my hair is much longer now so it’ll look 👀 even HOTTER ❣️🥰❣️
How do I follow the Instructions can you please show me your link it to me please and thank you
Thank you for this video! I have had this waver for years and could never get the look I wanted. I’m so excited to try these tips and tricks out.
I can just never get enough of your vibes :D I love it, always brightens my mood :> Thank you!
No way!! This is how I do it!! I can't believe I've reached by myself a Brad Mondo's quality!!!!
YES!!!
I've had a wavy hair tool sitting in my drawer forever and NOW I'm going to use it 🤣😍 Just bought some products from your website and so excited for them to arrive! I would LOVE for you to do my hair...#1 hairstylist mad skills...
I know this is about the waves. But man you're looking gorgeous in this video. Love your look, the outfit, the hair, everything. Keep up the good content.
love this I need one of these, at the moment I braid my hair but ends up straight on top and a bit frizzy waves i want that natural beachy wave. Thanks so much for the tips I am learning a lot and hoping to experiment with my hair a bit more 👍
My hair did the same thing so I got a silk bonnet off Amazon and I always put it on after I braid my hair and my braids look so good!
But the curls are so soft and pretty and they last long
Thank you so much Brad! I tried this on my short hair and love the results! Looks soooo much better!
I have one, and I just did my hair the other day and when I went out I got so many compliments and I got a number ☺️☺️☺️
Yes! I have this tool this is exactly what I needed today! Hooray!
Love that shorter layered look with it almost makes me want to chop mine down. Gorgeous. Now if only I could get someone to do my top and back for me lol
So glad to see this because I was interested in this tool --- but your result is exactly how my wavy hair air dries anyway! 😁
My mother keeps asking me why am I watching you all the time. All I did was write a big paragraph about how amazing you are 😄
I got my waver the other day and actually did the twisty thing without having seen it anywhere and when I tell you I felt like a level 30000 iq genius... So seeing it here made me feel even cooler cause my brain accidentally came up with the same technique that a pro recommends 😎
I have a waver but I was using it wrong!! Thank you Brad you beautiful soul💖
If you don’t wanna use heat but want waves you can braid your hair in like 5-6 braids and it will be wavy when it dries I used to go to sleep and do this and it would turn out cute!
I’ve had one of these forever and my hair never came out like that. Leave it to Brad to show me how to use it. 🥰🥰🥰
I’m literally getting ready for an 80’s event and this is so helpful! Thanks Brad!✌🏼
I don't have a triple barrel iron but I do have the adjustable height A-Wave-We-Go from BedHead and I'm gonna try that twisting technique with it 👌
Buying the wave thingy tomorrow and adding all of the products to my XMondo list ASAP!!! Thanks Brad Mondo!!!
