  • Executive protection or bodyguard training is sometimes considered the same thing. The main difference between Executive Protection training, also known as Close protection, is the methods used to protect. Bodyguards are seen, in the US, to be mobile bouncers that deal with problems on a more physical level. Executive protection specialists are known to utilize numerous planning techniques and contingencies rather than wait for a physical confrontation.
    Being proficient at the mental and physical components of the executive protection industry, we make you a well rounded professional in the executive security industry. Training in all aspects of executive protection can be found at SECFOR International. courses.secfor360.com

    For those commenting about the weapon being used as a"splint" and the barrel pointed at the the patients head...let me explain:
    1) This is not a splint. The instructor was showing how battlefield objects can be fashioned to provide mechanical pressure over an inguinal bleed...if you were to look a bit harder, you will see empty mags over the pack.
    2) Because you were not there....you did not hear the instructor inform students students that if a firearm is used, it is to be made inoperable. Not just empty, but the bolt can be dumped.
    3) This is a molded plastic firearm, the mag cannot be removed.
    4) The barrel goes toward the head because it hooks under the belt and stays in place.
    So, for an unloaded weapon with no guts...it would be impossible to have any issues. Its a demo folks, always consider context

    Executive Protection is such an amazing sector of work to be in. That feeling you get when you realize that you're that solid titanium shield between your client and death is an astounding feeling. On top of seeing the comfort and safety in his/her eyes. Criminal justice has to be one of the most rewarding fields to be in.

    While putting this course together, our main focus was providing real-world training. The instructors rotate through high threat assignments and delivering instruction for this, and our other, courses. There is no "accreditation" short of WPS. Though this course maintains similar principles and skill sets as a WPS work-up, ours is geared around a low profile environment, smaller teams, less support, etc. Do your research carefully and select the best school(s) for your specific goals.

    That makes sense, I ask as I applied for a security job prior to enlisting. They required a rifle and pistol course. The ones I had done more or less "didn't cut it" or weren't up to their standards. To be honest I figured either you can run a gun or you can't and specific class or piece of paper from a said class doesn't mean much.

      ***** We run a different program. Ours concentrates on small teams, low profile in high threat environments. We exceed the WPS training in some aspects, Trauma Medical (TCCC) and Mission Planning and preparation are two examples, and other subjects that WPS does, have no place in our course, light machine gun and other high profile PSD subjects. Though many of the skills are similar and going through any solid program where instructors still work in high threat environments will be beneficial to WPS type work.

    Does someone need to be ex military to obtain a career in executive protection? I understand that having a background of military experience would help tremendously, however would an individual even have a shot at a career like this without that? I am considering pursuing a career in executive protection or something of that nature, however am not sure if I necessarily want to join the military. That is in no way an insult to our armed forces. I have a great respect for the men and women who risk their lives and dedicate their careers to protecting the United States. Thank you.

    • @HighThreatTraining
      @HighThreatTraining  8 років тому +2

      +Max Mephisto Its actually NOT a splint. The instructor showed how battlefield objects can be used to save lives. In this case a BLUE GUN (Molded plastic, mag not removable) was used to produce pressure on an inguninal wound pack (note mags on top of pack) to free up the hands for a move while maintaining pressure on a life threatening bleed. Flash suppressor hooks under belt to keep it in place. This would be done with a cleared weapon. All weapons are considered loaded, until I clear it. i live in a country with right hand steering, how do you execute the driver down drill?

    • @HighThreatTraining
      @HighThreatTraining  10 років тому +1

      Ron Reynr Same system, just opposite side.
      Don't confuse "system" with "procedure" There are 4 basic things you must do to take control of a driver down problem These 4 basic things are the system we use to take over the vehicle. Procedures will vary with type of vehicle, right hand or left hand...Manual or Automatic...etc

    • @RonReynr
      @RonReynr 10 років тому

      I don't think it can be considered as "same system" because i think its a lot more complicated, because on the left hand steering, the passanger can simply take over by holding on the wheel and step on the gas pedal with his left foot as an initial move, before actually switching by removing the driver's body to the side, with the right hand steering, the gas pedal is on the right side or the far side from the passanger, so when the driver is already unconscius the vehicles speed is either decreased because the unconscius driver's foot has lost pressure to the pedal or increased because of the shock that triggers the foot to unconsciusly step on the pedal, so for the passanger to gain control of the gas pedal is more complicated because the drivers body is still in the way, and removing the body before gaining control of the pedal and steering wheel can make the vehicle veered out of control

I would recommend, get into Close Protection, Corporate, Infrastructure, Free lance protection, and once you make a name for yourself and continue the requisite training for overseas work, you may have a network in place that can help you get boots on the ground. All of us who have worked in hostile regions have worked with professional security specialists with no military background, but they took a longer route to get there. Our program is different than the DoS program. Some of our curriculum is similar but our focus is low profile high threat operations. We had to develop techniques that would work with little support, small teams, no QRF etc. We have the advantage of changing our courses weekly to make them better and keep them relevant.. The State Department receives its specialized training from private training companies. You can probably find a WPS contract awardee and take a driving course if you want the exact same training DoS gets.

    So where can someone with special operator skills and close protection experience find work in the real world

    • @HighThreatTraining
      @HighThreatTraining  10 років тому

      Tim, there numerous private security firms that regularly hire qualified individuals for protection details worldwide. Get your resume together with verifiable experience and relevant training, (don't put all your killer stuff and weapons quals at the top of your CV or resume) Look at which companies are working the types of details, or locations, you are interested in working and get ready for a phone, Skype, or in-person interview. When I interview, I ask candidates to talk me through a detail A to Z. I will give them locations and threat. Candidates that fail to clearly articulate the mission planning process,surveillance detection posture & strategies, and solid realistic contingencies...are not even considered. These three things separate those who have had 1) Proper training 2) Relevant experience in high threat environments. and 3) Are prepared to think there way out of a problem before it effects the detail. If a candidate just wants to talk firearms and martial arts...they are not right for us. Consider this when applying and interviewing. Professional security firms prefer that you think and plan to avoid problems, but still have those hard skills in your back pocket just in case. Good luck
