Try changing to 6-60% stiffer clutch springs on the stock clutch plate first, and start to wheelie really slow like 2 to 5 MPH, that made a bigger difference for me learning to wheelie, I even tried a 13 tooth sprocket with the 6 stiffer springs and went back to the stock 15 tooth sprocket with stiffer springs and finally learned to wheelie!

14t is way better especially if your big guy like myself. It allows for more rpm in 4th and uphill torque. If you want to cheat doing wheelies, lower the rear tire pressure (within spec of tire manufacturer). I'm staying with the 14t front and going +3 in the rear. I hope first gear isn't too short. I will see. Nice video.
It’s not the best way to do it at all. Why make your new chain the same as your old stretched out chain? Put the new chain on the bike and you can see exactly which link needs cut off.
I have stock gearing with an aftermarket exhaust and chimera cold air intake. I can pop second gear wheelies very easily as long as I sit back and pull on the bars. Even if I'm cruising around 5-6k rpms, I can still get it into balance point with a big enough clutch dump.
Iv got a 2022 grom 5 speed, it has 38 tooth on the rear. I didn't realise. And I put a 34 tooth on unsure of the front sprocket but I just bought a 14t I think for the front. Because It was really low gearing with the 34t on the rear but it did make my speedo correct. And I couldn't use 5th gear unless I was on the highway but would have to drop back to forth because didn't have enough power.
Some pointers if you haven't learned wheelies yet Don't be afraid of getting the front tire higher. The rear brake will save you if you go a little bit too far Try to not chop the throttle in the wheelie, find the point where you can hover around to keep the wheel up

Once I’m in first and try to take off it seems to still be in neutral cuz the bike still revs high and I can’t take off. Also shifting into second gear give me trouble sometimes. It's not that I couldn't wheelie on the stock setup, it was more about the effort and wear and tear on the Grom from trying to do it with effort. Revs had to be higher and I physically had to yank the bars up. The new setup is effortless and has resulted in much less wear for the 10 dollar sprocket
The stock Grom especially with pipe CANT wheelie with some people. I'm 250 PDs and can wheelie for miles on anything except the Grom. It just has to little bottom end with a pipe to get the front end up.

But your put a lot of stress on that motor. Don’t run and buy a 17t. Just bc it fots on there. Doesn’t mean it’s good. Sure. Go down. Go up one. It makes a hell of a difference when u do the front. It’s just safer to fine tune it in the rear. When u jump from one tooth to the next. It’s like putting a 50t on a 30t 😂 just examples. But good choice. Just one tooth will do what u want. For every one tooth on the front is like putting 20 more teeth on the rear. My neighbor does this shit every time. Well it fits. Sure it does. Is it right no. U wanna go fast. Buy a bigger bike. Don’t buy a 125 or 250 and think your gonna go 100mph 😂 good job 👏
I can barely get 54 on stock everything lol
Tristin L i put the same sprocket on i get it up to 56mph i dont know what the stock one got up to cause soon as i bought itand i ripped it apart in my living room
I have a 2015 air box mod and exhaust with 15 tooth and I can hit 70 on flat ground on mine.
Just hit the sub for y
I’m hoping this is the reason I can’t keep it up ……. 🤣
It does not have a power band
Lorenzo Linear facepalm
Change out the back sprocket aswell and you might get it up in 2nd gear...
Jeffrey Turnage you easily get the grom up in 2nd gear
Robin Ehrnsten and in 3rd!!!! #Gromlife!! Says the guy who dosen't have one😔😫
Jeffrey Turnage facepalm
Jeffrey Turnage you can literally search it up before calling me an idiot, 2nd gear and about 50kmh and it's possible
Robin Ehrnsten I wasn't calling you an idiot lol And I was referring to myself about not having a grom.
Hey guys bit of a random comment but I have a grom and a monkey bike and like to ride round wheelies all that and have just purchased Sparta for my 2017 grom should I make a UA-cam page and let you guys follow the adventure 🙃
dont try and promote another(future) channel on someones content, no one likes a leech.
You shoulda mastered wheelies before u spent money on tring to get better at wheelies. You should be able to do work on a stock grom
It just has to little bottom end with a pipe to get the front end up.
those stock Vee rubber tires suck
They are the worst! Love my power pures
Umm that's 7 links lol not 14.... I guess your counting isn't up to par guy
Think he was counting the pins.. not the full links 😂 I thought the same thing when he said 14 links!!
Theres no power ban on a 4 stroke
The power band of an internal combustion engine or electric motor is the range of operating speeds under which the engine or motor is able to operate most efficiently
Wheelies are for plonkers😂😂😂😂
If your grom is your only bike dont do this. It will make 45 mph roads feel Awful..
Why?
You didn’t even use the gloves maaaaaan
If you replace the rear sprocket and replace it with a lighter one you will loose a bunch of unsprung mass.
How long did the dilevery take? For the sprocket ND chain
